[Bug 1468943] Re: Update to 3.16
input settings have moved from g-s-d schemas into gsettings-desktop- schemas, since these are now handled by mutter in GNOME 3.16. Given the transition code, see [1] this is going to make it hard to just revert the key changes like we have in the past. [Bug 1440275] Re: Ubuntu GNOME only allows regional format setting for US, UK, Canada, Australia, and NZ

[Bug 1469355] [NEW] aspell doesn't warn when given an unknown language string
Public bug reported: If I run, say: $ aspell -l en_NZ --mode=tex check file.tex or $ aspell -l en_BLAH --mode=tex check file.tex aspell will continue on and do its spell checking in en_US, which is very incorrect behaviour. [Bug 1459455] Re: [needs packaging] xe-guest-utils
Hi Ben, I've had a look at this package and identified a few changes that I think are required before it can be uploaded to wily. Please find attached a debdiff of the changes I've made so far. There is one outstanding issue; namely, that debian/rules attempts to key on the release version to decide whether or not to build --with systemd. This is incorrect for two reasons. First, packages should support all init systems, not just one, so that they don't have to be upgraded in lockstep with the init system (and I've partially addressed this in my patch, with changes to install both the upstart job and systemd unit in the dh_installinit target). Second, dh_systemd doesn't exist at all in precise, so this package will fail to build on precise no matter what due to an unsatisfied build dependency. I'd like to know your thoughts on the best way to resolve this. ** Patch added: "xe-guest-utilities-cleanups.diff" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1459455/+attachment/4421163/+files/xe-guest-utilities-cleanups.diff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1459455 Title: [needs packaging] xe-guest-utils To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1459455/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1469346] [NEW] DHCPv6 responses with multiple addresses applied incorrectly to interface
Public bug reported: A DHCPv6 server may respond with multiple addresses, and is not an unusual case as you may wish to provide both a ULA and a global prefix to a common suffix. Recent versions of OpenWRT behave in this manner for DHCPv6. Network Manager is handling this *almost* correctly. Both addresses get applied, just not simultaneously as would be expected. The dhclient process is seeing both addresses, and both get processed by the handler, but is handled as though there were two seperate requests, applies the first address, promptly removes it, and replaces it with the second address, resulting in only the latter address persisting after interface setup. After adding the following to the upstart config for network manager, you can easily follow the mishandling of the response: --log-level=debug --log-domains=DEVICE,IP6,DHCP6 The following are key lines from the debug logging: Jun 20 23:21:16 pinky-linux NetworkManager[6244]: [1434856876.790352] [nm-system.c:280] sync_addresses(): (wlan0): adding address '2607:::ad10::61/128' ... Jun 20 23:21:17 pinky-linux NetworkManager[6244]: [1434856877.837130] [nm-system.c:247] sync_addresses(): (wlan0): removing address '2607:::ad10::61/128' Jun 20 23:21:17 pinky-linux NetworkManager[6244]: [1434856877.837526] [nm-system.c:280] sync_addresses(): (wlan0): adding address 'fd5b:::10::61/128' In this case the global prefixed address was applied, then immediately replaced by the ULA prefixed one. So it's correctly parsing both addresses of the response as supplied by dhclient, but the end result is not what is expected for the given configuration sent from the server. The correct behaviour is to add/replace all addresses in the response as a set. This negates much of the usefulness of supporting DHCPv6, and is an impediment to integration with IPv6 networks requiring it's use. [Bug 1466803] Re: Multiple Software RAID problems on 14.04.2
** Description changed: + + edit: + NB. this report is inaccurate - please see the following instead: + https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mdadm/+bug/1469269 + + Re. mdadm 3.2.5-5ubuntu4.1 (or possibly kernel bug(s)?) Firstly, /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/mdadm does not seem to exist as it is suggested it should in the official server guide. 1. Encrypted LVM RAID fails to boot 2. LVM RAID fails to boot when degraded I have had various issues re. (2) tested with VirtualBox and KVM (with and on 14.04.2) (1) gets so far in the boot process then keeps displaying "No volume groups found" (2) if virtual disk is removed from the VM, I've managed to get it to boot once and remove the offending disk from mdX using mdadm ... but couldn't reproduce this behaviour a second (or third) time - now it just keeps printing... Incrementally starting RAID arrays... mdadm: CREATE user root not found mdadm: CREATE group disk not found Incrementally started RAID arrays ...every few seconds. That symptom seems to be fixable in other reports in circumstances where the system is bootable after a soft reset (Ctrl+Alt+Del) but no such luck in my case. It seems that software RAID is a mess in 14.04 - can someone take a good look at it? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1466803 Title: Multiple Software RAID problems on 14.04.2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mdadm/+bug/1466803/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1469313] [NEW] After installing hplip 3.15.6 printer is sometimes not recognized after reboot
Public bug reported: HPLIP was automatically updated on 11 June 2015. During the upgrade instructions were carefully followed however at the end the printer was not recognized. The upgrade was attempted again and it was then noted that it was required to turn off then on the printer for it be be recognized at the end of the install. Today, 26 June 2015 after a reboot caused by a video freeze the printer was not recognized (firmware was not downloaded during boot as usual) and running hp-setup shows printer not recognized even after turning the printer off then on several times and also unplugging and replugging it in to the usb port. I have not yet gone through these steps: => Run the command "hp-uninstall" to cleanly uninstall HPLIP. Remove plug-ins too when prompted. => Install the latest (or already downloaded 3.15.2 run file) => Remove all the existing queues by running the command "hp-setup -r" => Re-configure the queue by running the command "hp-setup". This step will also prompt for installing the plugin. Follow the prompts to install the plugins. => Try printing to the queue named HP_LaserJet_1020 After going through all the steps above the printer is again functional. Note: during the step to install the hp driver besides unplugging and replugging in the usb cable I have to additionally turn the printer off and on. Once this is done the driver installs correctly. [Bug 1381646] Re: cant paste into webapp
I have to agree with wardvour. I accessed G+ with Firefox and was then asked if I wanted the G+ webapp. It installed but I can't copy and paste. Surely that's an important feature? Especially for a social network that you share web pages on! If it does not have the basics working then it should not be available... [Bug 1428558] Re: Thumbnailing videos taken by camera is very slow (over 5 seconds on BQ)
Due to instability in gstreamer, we are currently limiting the number of concurrent vs-thumb processes. On __arm__, if max-extractions = 0 (which is the default), we adjust max-extractions to 1, so only one vs-thumb process executes at a time. It's still possible to force more than one concurrent vs-thumb by setting max-extractions to a non-zero value (useful for testing). For example: gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Thumbnailer max-extractions 2 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1428558 Title: Thumbnailing videos taken by camera is very slow (over 5 seconds on BQ) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/thumbnailer/+bug/1428558/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
