[Bug 1552713] Re: bcmwl-kernel-source 6.30.223.248+bdcom-0ubuntu8: bcmwl kernel module failed to build

2016-03-03 Thread Seth Arnold
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

[Bug 1552949] [NEW] the "http2" parameter requires ngx_http_v2_module

2016-03-03 Thread Roswebnet
Public bug reported:

Hi everyone!

Since version 1.9.5 Nginx have HTTP/2 support. However, even most
recent build of NGINX xenial package do not have it:

root@ubuntu:~# nginx -t
nginx: [emerg] the "http2" parameter requires ngx_http_v2_module in
/etc/nginx/sites-enabled/default:17
nginx: configuration file /etc/nginx/nginx.conf test failed

The nginx site still do not provide a package for xenial (and it is
clear why) http://nginx.org/en/linux_packages.html#mainline

I believe, it is urgent feature for upcoming 5 years.

I can't reproduce this; do you perhaps have any of the settings allowing

configured? Poke around the System Settings, in the brightness and lock,
security and privacy, and user account tabs.

[Bug 1552906] Re: System freezes after closing lid on Thinkpad X260

2016-03-03 Thread Alexander Müller
Hi.

I have exactly the same problem but with a Lenovo Thinkpad T460s.

This is most likely acpi related as I can boot with acpi=off and the freeze
does not occur when I close the lid.
I also noticed that acpi=pm does not resolve the problem.

The bug also occurs during the cryptsetups ask-password screen on boot
right after grub when you close the lid.

Suspend mode works without any problems when I enter it by clicking on
the button.

When connected to an AC adapter, the bug is not reproducible.

[Bug 1552851] Re: syslog flooded with xhci_hcd warnings "WARN Event TRB for slot 1 ep 8 with no TDs queued?"

2016-03-03 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
PascalC, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.

As per https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=NUC5i5RY an
update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (0354).
If you update to this following
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything?

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't
have to create a new bug report.

Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible:
1) Please provide the output of the following terminal command (not perform an
apport-collect):
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
2) Please make a comment specifically advising on if there was an improvement
or not.
3) Please mark this report Status Confirmed. If it's not reproducible, please
mark this as Invalid.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 1552939] [NEW] arm64 build doesn't use asm and is 4x-16x slower than it could be

2016-03-03 Thread Ali
Public bug reported:

The openssl build for arm64 doesn't compile in the assembly that is
present in openssl as of version 1.0.2 for aarch64 because the debian-
targets.patch that is applied specifies a target that doesn't have
assembly. The line at issue is debian-arm64 target which needs ${no_asm}
changed to ${aarch64_asm}:linux64. Running openssl speed -evp
aes-128-gcm shows a 4x-16x improvement in performance with this change
made and the package rebuilt. Other aes and sha variants show similar
performance gains by enabling asm.

[Bug 1543254] Re: Wifi disconnects and my wifi is missing from list so I cannot connect to it

2016-03-03 Thread florin
Tested it. See the recording link on youtube.

This is how internet stops working on toshiba p50-c-18d: Reconnecting
make it work again. It is easy to reproduce the bug by downloading a
torrent. The thing is that internet stops working on mobile android also
when it stops working on computer, it is like some kind of jamming;
reconnecting make it work again on phone, too. Simply disconnecting the
computer make the phone wifi internet work, so it is definitely caused
by the computer. Not happening in windows 10 (or I could not reproduce
it, will test again with a few torrents). This is with the latest
kernel:

uname -a
Linux florin-SATELLITE-P50-C 4.5.0-040500rc6-generic #201602281230 SMP Sun Feb

[Bug 1552938] [NEW] Keyboard not working on boot and stop job taking forever

2016-03-03 Thread Alex
Public bug reported:

When using the 4.4.0-9-generic the splash screen that asks for my
encryption password don't register any keypresses. If i force the laptop
to shut down and boot again the screen doesn't even show, it's just
purple. But then I can enter my password and hit enter and it will
unlock and bring me to the Ubuntu login screen.

When shutting down it hangs on "A stop job is running..." (/dev/dm-0 i
think it was) until it times out (90 sec).

If I switch back to the 4.4.0-8-generic kernel it all works just fine,
boot goes to splash screen, I can type in my encryption password, and it
also shuts down without waiting for 90 secs.

[Bug 1283820] [NEW] content of windows (and desktop) appear black when using kwin, but not with kwin_gles - intel graphics

2016-03-03 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

When I start a session all my windows appear in black as well as my desktop if
using kwin. This behavior is not entirely deterministic, it occurs about 75% of
the times. I have an intel graphic card, and same thing happens no matter sna
or uxa is used.

This doesn't happen if using kwin_gles instead (but I don't use it
because then the blur effect doesn't work). Please let me know if I
should fill a bug in kde as well...

[Bug 1545308] Re: Backport upstream fix for memleak

2016-03-03 Thread Trent Nelson
Sorry, I spaced this. Description updated. :)

** Description changed:

  https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=758641

Please consider taking this memleak fix from upstream. I've built the
package with it locally and confirmed that it fixes the leak in xfce4
-power-manager, which is mentioned in the upstream report. It also
fixes a similarly sized (hundreds of MB after a few days up time) leak
that I have observed in the NetworkManager service.
+
+ [Impact]
+ Hundreds of MB memory leak in certain dbus applications, including default
services like xfce4-power-manager and NetworkManager with default
configurations.
+
+ [Test Case]
+ Clean install of lubuntu 15.10 on a notebook with working battery. Observe
xfce4-power-manager and NetworkManager* in "top" over 48-72hrs of normal use
(web browsing, text editing, shell, etc). Both will be taking on several tens
of MB per day of additional RES.
+
+ *NetworkManager may require buggy wifi to reproduce. rtl8723be in my
+ case.
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+ I'm no authority on the glib code base, but the upstream patch looks very
safe to me.

Let me know if you need any further details.

  ProblemType: Bug
  DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.10
  Package: libglib2.0-0 2.46.1-1
  ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.2.0-25.30-generic 4.2.6

[Bug 1551305] Re: backup service crashes in ceph job with "pure virtual method called"

2016-03-03 Thread Matt Riedemann
I have a devstack change up to test the ppa:

https://review.openstack.org/#/c/288145/

That depends on a project-config change to add the ceph job to the
experimental queue for devstack so we can actually test the ppa.
