[Bug 1511868] Re: Please sync cl-utilities (universe) 1.2.4-1 from Debian unstable (main)
This package was previously in Debian with a higher version number, which was where Ubuntu got it. There are two problems with the current package in Debian: - it has reused a Debian version number that was previously used in Debian with different contents. - it has reused an *upstream* orig.tar.gz filename that was previously used in Debian with different contents. Both of these bugs are issues that should be fixed in Debian. While they haven't prevented the package from being reintroduced into Debian unstable, they will cause problems for release archival in Debian in the same way that they prevent the package's importing into Ubuntu. To fix the second issue, the package probably needs to be switched to source format 3.0 (quilt) and use a different compression format for the orig.tar, in order to avoid the filename collision. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1511868 Title: Please sync cl-utilities (universe) 1.2.4-1 from Debian unstable (main) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cl-utilities/+bug/1511868/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

+UPSTREAM := $(shell head -1 debian/changelog | sed 's/.*(//;s/-.*?*).*//') That works, but isn't a great fix. [Bug 969032] Re: Python os module lacks the chflags/lchflags methods
I ran into this today and thought I'd share what I learned. The syscall chflags does not exist in Linux, so when compiling Python it notices this and does not provide os.chflags(). chattr(1) on the other hand uses an ioctl() of EXT2_IOC_SETFLAGS to set the attributes (e2fsprogs-1.42.13's lib/e2p/fsetflags.c): | fd = open (name, OPEN_FLAGS); | if (fd == -1) | return -1; | f = (int) flags; | r = ioctl (fd, EXT2_IOC_SETFLAGS, &f); | if (r == -1) | save_errno = errno; | close (fd); So you could (instead of executing chattr(1)) call Python's fcntl.ioctl() to perform that action. It would probably be very nice if Python's os.chflags() would DWIM (and if someone brings this to Python please report here), but on the other hand I can also understand the paradigm to keep low-level functions "dumb", i. e. a function where the user expects that a simple syscall is made should only do that and nothing more. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/969032 Title: Python os module lacks the chflags/lchflags methods To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python2.7/+bug/969032/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 880645] Re: "btrfs device delete /dev/sdaX /" fails with error "ERROR: error removing the device '/dev/sdaX'"

I consider this to be a regression (or at least a change in behaviour) somewhere between kernel 3.16 and kernel 4.2. [Bug 1563134] [NEW] ICE in gimple_expand_builtin_pow with -O3 on ppc64el
Public bug reported: elk FTBFS in Ubuntu on ppc64el because ppc64el is using -O3, and elk internally uses a so-called "Generic_Function" that wraps calls to function pointers that might take either 1 or 2 args. The code in question will never actually try to call pow() with a single arg, but enforcement of this is several layers away, stymying the optimizer. Will attach a reduced test case to reproduce this issue. Problem can be reproduced by calling: gcc-5 -O3 -c math2.i -o libelk_la-math.o It is also reproducible with gcc-6. It is reproducible cross-architecture, ppc64el is just the only architecture using -O3 by default. ** Affects: gcc-5 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1563134 Title: ICE in gimple_expand_builtin_pow with -O3 on ppc64el To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gcc-5/+bug/1563134/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1236035] Re: phpmyadmin does not recognize php5-mcrypt
I am running a Joomla site. I tried to enable two factor authentication, but when I pressed "Save & Close", the page blanked and would not load again. This is running on Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS x86_64. I had the php5-mcrypt package installed. I was not able to verify the phpmyadmin reproduction, as I don't have phpmyadmin installed. However, after running the fix described in comment #12, I have enabled two factor authentication. Furthermore, after pressing "Save & Close", Joomla administrator returns me to the list of users page (instead of showing a blank page that fails to load). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1236035 Title: phpmyadmin does not recognize php5-mcrypt To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php-mcrypt/+bug/1236035/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1562396] Re: No sound - ALC260 snd-hda-intel on Vaio VGN-A497XP on MATE 16.4 Final Beta
Hi Raymond, thank you for the suggestions of things to try. Also thanks for the tip re David Henningsson's ppa and his hdajackretask: $sudo add-apt-repository ppa:diwic/hda $sudo apt-get update [This is up to 14.04 Trusty but seemed to work well enough on 16.04 Xenial Final Beta] Played around with it (If one makes a mistake, one can press 'Remove boot override' button, shut down computer, wait a little, then power back on - should be back to where you started. Still - the only sound is the MONO SOUND from the 0x15 at the back /* LINE-2 is used for line-out in rear */ - {0x15, AC_VERB_SET_PIN_WIDGET_CONTROL, PIN_OUT}. I don't know enough at this stage to recompile kernel etc in the effort to re-introduce the 'Alc260 basic model' back in again? I will leave it at this time, but obviously if you happen to know of any changes in this situation - would be glad to hear it. Also if you / anyone else happen to hear of more things to try - please let me know - will attempt to try them out. Again, thank you for the help so far. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1562396 Title: No sound - ALC260 snd-hda-intel on Vaio VGN-A497XP on MATE 16.4 Final Beta To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1562396/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
