[Bug 1645021] [NEW] indicator-datetime shows all-day events from google calendar a day before the actual date of the event
Public bug reported: bq M10 rc-proposed/r240 The date-time indicator shows all-day events from google calendar one day before the actual date of the event. For example, the event happening on Monday is shown on Sunday. It applies for both the calendar and the list of events in the indicator. At the same, the Calendar App shows the all-day events correctly. This behavior is related to the time zone. My time zone is UTC+3. When I set the zone to UTC+0, the indicator shows the all-day events correctly. This bug looks just like Bug #1261191, but for Unity 8. It also seems to be somehow related to Bug #1641720 and Bug #1641726. But after marking them as fixed, this one is still present. ** Affects: canonical-devices-system-image Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: indicator-datetime (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: canonical-devices-system-image Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1645021 Title: indicator-datetime shows all-day events from google calendar a day before the actual date of the event To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1645021/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1645022] [NEW] Sound fails after suspend state
Public bug reported: I have a new Dell XPS 13 9360 with Ubuntu 16.04 4.4.0-47-generic. Whenever I close the lid, it is set to suspend the OS state. Whenever I resume, the sound card and settings all appear normal, however no sound comes out of the speakers. This problem is so severe. I installed ubuntu with unity after talking everyone into how good ubuntu is, 5 years support and all. [Bug 1643250] Re: Installer error copying files to disk
I've since discovered my main issue was lack of support for NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M Graphics during the install process. Googling the issue I found adding nomodeset in grub after quiet splash allowed the install to proceed and not hang at the start or the end. The issue was probably a genuine corruption of the USB stick. Every time I got to the point of install completion (when this disk error did not occur) the process would hang after the "remove media" request. So I was removing the USB stick with possibly it still mounted and active. I would then try the install again. I've probably completed +20 install attempts before the last successful one using "nomodeset" and the "erase disk and install Ubuntu" option. [Bug 1643717] Re: package tar 1.27.1-1ubuntu0.1 failed to install/upgrade
This may be due to manual changes or data corruption with files associated with the tar package on your system causing the package manager to assume the package as tainted and it is asking for a manual reinstall to prevent breaking the system. Just manually reinstall tar and you will be good. I don't think there is enough info here to pinpoint a bug but if you have any more information to think it is a bug with tar, please share. ** Changed in: tar (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1643717 Title: package tar 1.27.1-1ubuntu0.1 failed to install/upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tar/+bug/1643717/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1616943] Re: Can't auth against U1 in g-s
I checked again today. There was an update for gnome-software. I updated via Synaptic to avoid updating other packages from the repository. I just checked "gnome-software" to be updated. Synaptic also checked "gnome-software-common" and "ubuntu-software" to be updated. Apart from that Synaptic also checked "libsnapd-glib1" and "snapd-login-service" to be installed. So after updating and installing mentioned packages, I closed Synaptic and started g-s, I searched for "krita" (snap version showed up) and tried to install it but without luck (error about wrong password). I restarted my computer and tried again installing Krita. This time it went fine. After I entered my launchpad email and password, I was asked to enter my computer password. After that I clicked "continue" and Krita was installed. ** Tags removed: verification-needed ** Tags added: verification-done -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1616943 Title: Can't auth against U1 in g-s To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-software/+bug/1616943/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1645002] [NEW] ssh sessions are not cleanly terminated on shutdown/restart with systemd

[Bug 676467] Re: System freeze with Intel Atom D510MO
When migrating an old server, capi4hylafax was triggering kernel panics on the new system (opensuse though). So, if anyone ever reads this thread, here is what I found: 1) do not use the "newest" firmware for your b1 pci card but version 3.10-02 2) there are some corruptions happening due to simultaneous write access to the same object from different threads within capi4hylafax. This garbles the settings used for the card. I fixed one, when starting a receive thread; however, multiple receive threads per device still have this problem and should be avoided (just use one full config section for each channel). [Bug 1644996] [NEW] logrotate config uses syslog group
Public bug reported: The default logrotate config uses the "syslog" group. > # use the syslog group by default, since this is the owning group > # of /var/log/syslog. > su root syslog This is not correct anymore since 16.04, because: 1. "syslog" group doesn't exist on a stock Ubuntu 16.04 system, it only gets installed via rsyslog 2. The owning group is actually "adm". This results in logrotate terminating with the following error during cron.daily run: run-parts -v /etc/cron.daily run-parts: executing /etc/cron.daily/logrotate error: /etc/logrotate.conf:7 unknown group 'syslog' And can be fixed by changing syslog to adm group. This is not present when rsyslog is installed, but only because that package creates the syslog group. [Bug 1244869] Re: Unity home lens restricts results to only files after a search returning only files
The issue remains there after more than three years. It is perhaps a small issue, but it is an issue that is intrusive. It disrupts the workflow. Rather than quickly launching, for example, gedit, the Dash does return nothing or just some files. In the worst case, the user already pressed enter and some random file is launched. The user can then start to close that file and focus on the Unity dash: call it up again, press Escape and then enter the query again. Unique and novel concept, the Unity dash. [Bug 1577596] Re: ntpd not started when using ntpdate
I tested the suggestion from comment #38 by robx. It works for me. I hope there is no race for other resorces (hwclock?). I did disable stop/start and it works for me. hhl@ILS-AP2:~$ diff ntpdate /etc/network/if-up.d/ntpdate # disabling ntpd stop/start ... 39c40,41 < invoke-rc.d --quiet $service stop >/dev/null 2>&1 || true --- > # stopping service ntp is no loger required if ntpdate-debian is not using > source port UDP/123 > # invoke-rc.d --quiet $service stop >/dev/null 2>&1 || true ... 44c47 < invoke-rc.d --quiet $service start >/dev/null 2>&1 || true --- > # invoke-rc.d --quiet $service start >/dev/null 2>&1 || true hhl@ILS-AP2:~$ I still think package ntpdate should not be in the system unless explicitely requested. [Bug 1348890] Re: Asus UX32LN: Brightness keys Fn+F5 and Fn+F6 don't generate evdev event
Sorry, I forgot to add something. [Bug 792085] Re: Automatic remount of safely removed USB 3.0 drive
Dear Ubuntu developers! Please apply SUSE's patch on kernels in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, 14.04 LTS, 16.04 LTS, 16.10 - http://kernel.suse.com/cgit/kernel- source/commit/?id=43e64619bd7eeb1f3d287e8faffc16ed3c1f2a2b . Why it is so difficult? Why you ignore this serious bug? Many users have USB 3.0 on their computers for at least seven years. Switching to OpenSUSE from Ubuntu is not good option. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/792085 Title: Automatic remount of safely removed USB 3.0 drive To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/792085/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
