[Bug 1653675] [NEW] OpenVPN network-manager does not correctly import .crt and .key files when importing .ovpn file, instead it will import a useless .pem file
Public bug reported: When importing .ovpn file from a provider in network-manager, Under VPN tab > it auto-populates the CA Certificate field with a default .pem file which i am not sure where it even found that. Also under VPN > Advanced > Key File - it would auto-populate the field with a .pem as well. Are these .pem files system generated? because it surely does not come from the .ovpn file itself. It is true that the .ovpn file includes both the .crt and .key within the file.ovpn, because from Terminal it connects perfectly and does not require an external .crt and .key to be included in the command # openvpn vpnserver.tcp443.com.ovpn OpenVPN does not correctly import .crt and .key files when importing .ovpn file in network-manager, This makes it difficult for the user when importing many vpn servers, to go to the CA and tls key field and import the correct certificates manually everytime. Whats supposed to happen is, Network-Manager is supposed to import the CA and tls key correctly which come from the .ovpn file itself once .ovpn file gets imported. Can this be fixed? On a side note: it would be heavily appreciated if network-manager is able to mass import all .ovpn files at once correctly WITH ca and tls keys in place. At the moment, it is to my understanding that there is not even a way to backup ovpn profiles and to import them backup all at once to a new PC. Everything has to be done manually. Hope this can be included in the bug fix. ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: xenial -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1653675 Title: OpenVPN network-manager does not correctly import .crt and .key files when importing .ovpn file, instead it will import a useless .pem file To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1653675/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1651947] Re: installer ought to install a proper random-seed
/var/lib/urandom/random-seed is used by /etc/init.d/urandom; however under systemd, urandom.service is an alias for systemd-random-seed. The location of the random seed is configurable in systemd, however the default is /var/lib/systemd/random-seed. IMHO, it makes sense to transition to /var/lib/systemd/random-seed throughout the installers & booting. ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Dimitri John Ledkov (xnox) ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Milestone: None => ubuntu-17.03 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1651947 Title: installer ought to install a proper random-seed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/livecd-rootfs/+bug/1651947/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1307003] Re: Ubiquity installer allows encrypting home folder even if /home is already on an LUKS-encrypted partition
This is still the state of affairs as of Yakkety (ubiquity 16.10.4); also confirmed for Xenial (ubiquity 2.21.63.2) and Trusty (ubiquity 2.18.8.13) IMHO Fabrizio makes a convincing case of why this is useful functionality in some cases. I agree with both ejik and Fabrizio that the way the installer currently works can be confusing though. I’d suggest that, when a user selects home folder encryption having previously selected LUKS encryption for the partition /home is on, an alert window be popped to remind the user that the partition their home folder is on is already encrypted, and what the use case of using eCryptFS over LUKS is. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1307003 Title: Ubiquity installer allows encrypting home folder even if /home is already on an LUKS-encrypted partition To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/elementaryos/+bug/1307003/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1653636] Re: Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0, 0)
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: On powering my PC up after the holiday break I got a welcome back in the form of a kernel panic. I had completed some upgrades before the holiday and was seeing a restart to use the newly upgraded packages message. When the PC powered on the Caps Lock and Scroll Lock lights on my keyboard were blinking. After passing through grub and attempting to boot the kernel the boot message ended with the following message (typed out by me by hand, please see the attached photograph of the screen for more details): Kernel Offset: disabled ---[ end Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0) [ cut here ] WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 1 at arch/x86/kernel/smp.c:125 native_smp_send_reschedule+0x60/0x70( Modules linked in: CPU: 0 PID 1: Comm: swapper/0 Not tainted 4.4.21 #1 Hardware name: Gigabyte Technology Cp., Ltd. I tried to boot using the (recovery mode) version of 4.4.21 and the .old version of 4.4.21 that seemed to have appeared from somewhere. To my eye the problem looked the same in each version. [Bug 1653636] Re: Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0, 0)
I have executed the command `apport-collect 1653636` as requested by brad-figg. I can see that log files have been added. Note that this command was performed while running 4.4.0-57-generic not the 4.4.21 kernel that causes the issue. [Bug 1653179] Re: dpdk-dev incorrect symlink under $RTE_SDK
Hi Patrick, thank you for your report to help making Ubuntu better. After installing the dev packages via $ sudo apt-get install dpdk libdpdk-dev dpdk-dev I can confirm your report - not sure if it is a "bug" yet. The file(s) are part of libdpdk-dev. libdpdk-dev:amd64: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/librte_eal.a The symlink you refer to is just a convenience pointing from a dpdk specific dir to the libs following the usual file system layout. /usr/share/dpdk/x86_64-default-linuxapp-gcc/lib -> ../../../lib/ The RTE paths are usually made available via /usr/share/dpdk/dpdk-sdk-env.sh. In more recent releases there is also a packageconfig file. So trying to confirm I understood your request - you mind the extra x86_64-linux-gnu in the path and would want it to change. #1 Do you want the linkg to change: /usr/share/dpdk/x86_64-default-linuxapp-gcc/lib -> ../../../lib/ to /usr/share/dpdk/x86_64-default-linuxapp-gcc/lib -> ../../../lib/x86_64-linux-gnu #2 or do you want the actual position to change: File in: ${RTE_SDK}/${RTE_TARGET}/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/ to be in ${RTE_SDK}/${RTE_TARGET}/lib/ So far we had no issues with it, also not building third party DPDK apps with that layout - e..g some of the dpdk examples. I really wonder since the following works if we really should change that - can't SPDK work "the same way"? . /usr/share/dpdk/dpdk-sdk-env.sh make -C /usr/share/dpdk/examples/l2fwd "O=${ORIGDIR}/l2fwd" ** Changed in: dpdk (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1653179 Title: dpdk-dev incorrect symlink under $RTE_SDK To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dpdk/+bug/1653179/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

For the sake of completeness maybe "dpkg --verify mysql-server-5.7" ? To check for accidential changes? But I'd expect the issue to be more around: /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock access issue. And that appears to me to be more of a fail-to-start server issue, and due to that the upgrade not being able to reach it. [Bug 1653636] [NEW] Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0, 0)
Public bug reported: On powering my PC up after the holiday break I got a welcome back in the form of a kernel panic. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The auto reported logs do not point to any specific issue. Hi, thank you for reporting this bug and your help to make Ubuntu better. But sometimes due to bugs in the package dependencies - often that can be resolved by removing and reinstalling the offending pacakges. If you're doing the build on a modern linux system, and you haven't explicitly disabled the GnuPG's inotify support, and the test suite deletes any temporary GNUPGHOME homedirs, the subprocesses should notice the deletion and terminate promptly. This might depend on relatively recent versions of "modern" GnuPG, though (debian's currently shipping 2.1.17, fwiw). --dkg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1647204 Title: 1.8.0-2 FTBFS in zesty 17.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gpgme1.0/+bug/1647204/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1652974] Re: ARM64 builds of 5.7 throw illegal instruction
Hi, I found similar reports which were related to a specific arm board, its device tree and timer. In that case the device tree set the meson timer as the default and with that the armv8 timer instructions failed. Could you try: http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=136=20546#p150935 The thread has much more details, but this is the most simple solution to try. Please report if that fixes your issue, if not please report in as much detail as available what exact arm board you have and how your device tree looks like (http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/265890/is-it- possible-to-get-the-information-for-a-device-tree-using-sys- of-a-running). ** Changed in: mysql-5.7 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1652974 Title: ARM64 builds of 5.7 throw illegal instruction To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.7/+bug/1652974/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
