[Bug 1683867] Re: Have to click "Restart" and "Shutdown" button twice to make button work.

[Bug 1676070] Re: Wrong button's map for Logitech M560
I have also have a Logitech m560 and found this page useful https://blogs.ethz.ch/daesters/2015/10/24/customize-mouse-m560-on-linux/ If you want to use the sideways movement of the wheel for browser forward and back, instead of the lateral buttons, just replace the 10 and 11 with 6 and 7. [Bug 1311926] Re: Renaming Bug in Thunar
same as #3 kind of... better but not fixed. it has 10% chance, and we got no clue visually wether this 10% is trigered or not (we don't want to always see the file properties before we do something with the file, do we?). I have mistakenly delete wrong important file for few times because of this. Also I experienced the chance is bigger if the file size is bigger, and I let the window open when editing the file. i.e, big png/gimp and big svg/inkscape. After saving, visually the file position wasn't changed, but in fact it's not the right file. Also kind of wondering what was those refresh button for? :) Because if I go to the parent folder and entering the corresponding folder again, the representation get updated, just like the refresh button should do... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1311926 Title: Renaming Bug in Thunar To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunar/+bug/1311926/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1542733] Re: Connect to Hidden Wi-Fi Network, "Connect" grayed out
Just to confirm, for me the problem is fixed if you have downloaded the latest ISO version 16.04.2, installed the operating system, then once installed you MUST manually run the Software Updater & do all the updates & reboot. Unfortunately ticking the box during the installation to say do the updates during the install isn't enough!! You'll find then that the Hidden Wireless Network isn't greyed out. It's just a shame the update wasn't applied before the 16.04.2 ISO release because at the moment if you install & don't do the full updates you will have the problem. It's annoying too because during the installation of the operating system if you've connected to your Wifi then reboot, it will be greyed out because you haven't had the chance to run the software updater ... When that happens to save time I click on the network connections applet & select edit network connections, then under Wifi delete my initial Wifi connection I made during the install, close it & make a new connection to my Wifi & do all the updates via Software Updater. This will be fixed by the time 16.04.3 is released but that's a while down track which is why I was hoping the patch was done before 16.04.2 ISO was released but it just missed out... The only thing I don't know is what Christopher rightly mentioned on #43 is if you installed Ubuntu from either ISO version 16.04 or 16.04.1 & you have done all the updates if the problem is fixed.. For me I only install Ubuntu LTE version from .2 onwards because it has the rolling kernel release for newer hardware (HWE) which I prefer personally but if people choose to use the fixed linux kernel version 4.4 which is under either ISO version 16.04 or 16.04.1 then thats fine but someone will need to test. I've done at least half a dozen machines using the 16.04.2 ISO & using the procedure above it's fine but as mentioned just annoying.. [Bug 1636666] Re: [MIR] pcre2
It seems likely that Ubuntu will have to support/ship both PCRE and PCRE2 before long. At least some other distros (Fedora, Gentoo, Debian) appear to be doing that already. As mentioned above, for packaging purposes PCRE2 is effectively a new project, *not* a new version of the previous PCRE. The APIs are completely incompatible, and the previous PCRE is still getting bugfixes and seems to be supported/recommended for existing projects that already use it. There are a number of largish projects that don't support PCRE2 and presumably won't anytime soon (e.g. https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=57471). So it seems unlikely that the whole package ecosystem will ever simultaneously support a single incarnation of PCRE, allowing Ubuntu to ship only that one. Already some packages don't support the old incarnation, and as mentioned above, it's likely that some will never support the new incarnation. ** Bug watch added: bz.apache.org/bugzilla/ #57471 https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=57471 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/163 Title: [MIR] pcre2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/163/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1687231] [NEW] Error enabling Xpad autostart
Public bug reported: 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -> About Ubuntu Ubuntu 16.10 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or by checking in Software Center 4.8.0-1 3) What you expected to happen No error message. "Start Xpad automatically..." option checked. Autostart in next session login. 4) What happened instead Error message. "Start Xpad automatically..." option unchecked. No autostart in next session login. In Xpad Preferences -> Startup tab: Checking the "Start Xpad automatically after login" option brings up the following error message: "Error enabling Xpad autostart Could not copy /usr/share/applications/xpad.desktop to /home/$USER/.config/autostart/xpad.desktop Error opening file '/home/$USER/.config/autostart/xpad.desktop': No such file or directory" Upon inspection in my system there's no /home/$USER/.config/autostart directory, and since it's a fairly recent OS install I'm assuming it's not created during install. Both "mkdir /home/$USER/.config/autostart" and "ln -s /home/$USER/.config/upstart /home/$USER/.config/autostart" solve the issue, so I guess Ubuntu or xpad package need to be patched. [Bug 1231550] Re: battery status indicator shows 'estimating'
I'm seeing the the battery indicator stuck on the estimating message on a Dell XPS 9560 using Ubuntu 16.04.2 with 4.10.0-20-generic #22~16.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Thu Apr 20 17:43:29 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux. The Dell XPS, as the Thinkpad of the OP, has a charge limiter to prolong the battery life in the years. It can be set on a range from 55 % to 100% of the battery capacity. upower reports the state as "charging" but the energy-rate is just 0,0114 W. I think that when the rate is so low, detecting a trickle charging it's more a fact than a guess. [Bug 1666676] Re: Install tracker by default
@Carlos Garnacho I have tested this on a low-end laptops first with no tracker and then with tracker installed with default configuration (and there our problem lies.) The default configuration is just unacceptable. 1. Why does tracker index bzr, vendor, pycache folders by default? I put my git projects inside documents. You can literally see that with tracker daemon -f. Also, It should ignore any directory starting with "." by default 2. There are many other configuration available in Gsettings which aren't exposed in GUI. 3. I configure following things: -- enable-writeback false -- index-optical-discs false -- index-on-battery false -- index-removable-devices false -- ignored-directories ['core-dumps', 'CVS', 'lost+found', 'po', 'vendor', '.git'] -- ignore-stop-words true -- ignore-numbers true -- max-words-to-index 1000 -- removable-days-threshold 3 ? (I don't not understand this) After this the system is somewhat working well. There are no aggressive indexing. All files can still be searched from shell. Documents, Bijiben etc works without any problems. There are many options which can be disabled during compilation. For example extractor metadata for ps.gz, gif, iso, xps, abw seems pretty useless to me (who use it and why?). These can be disabled during compilation. I will keep testing but I believe tracker can be enabled in Ubuntu with proper default settings keeping it at absolute minimal level. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/176 Title: Install tracker by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/176/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1682193] Re: Mouse acceleration significantly reduced after upgrade to 17.04
My only experience is with xfce desktop and I can confirm that from version 16 at least, mouse sensitivity and acceleration settings didn't work correctly. Generally it was either too slow or too fast. I was happy with too much acception so I didn't complain. But they have updated the xorg server so something may have gone wrong. And I don't think we are going to hear a lot of complaints about this. Neither sensitivity nor acceleration do anything at all in this version. Everything is just constant. And certainly I am not going to mess with system packages to solve this. @clel Geschwindigkeit is just velocity or speed. For acceleration they should have used Beschleunigung. The sensitivity adjusts the relationship between physical mouse movement and the pointer movement. How precise it is. The acceleration increases the ratio between pointer movement and mouse movement depending on the speed or Geschwindigkeit of the mouse itself. In other words it translates mouse speed into pointer acceleration or Beschleunigung. So you can call it speed if you mean mouse movement, but acceleration if you mean pointer movement. Sensitivity and acceleration settings are distinct and I cannot see how they can combine them unless they just discard one, probably the sensitivity, and keep accelerate and rename it to speed or Geschwindigkeit. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1682193 Title: Mouse acceleration significantly reduced after upgrade to 17.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1682193/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
