[Bug 1751005] Re: libreoffice cannot open a document not within $HOME
Same problem here. Since installing 1:5.4.5-0ubuntu0.17.10.1. My files are located in /daten/, where I have a complex structure with multiple volumes, which is identical over all my machines and never made any problems since 15 years. If this is not ok anymore, because it's not LSB, this rule should affect _all_ applications, like inkscape, gimp, gedit, audacity, firefox, eclipse, etc. But then there will always be complains. Only making one application more restricted than others will result in bug reports like this here (for a good reason, I think) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1751005 Title: libreoffice cannot open a document not within $HOME To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1751005/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1751656] Re: Installing 18.04 LTS on existing Partition
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1751656/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1751667] [NEW] classic snap does not run on live session
Public bug reported: I'm testing Ubuntu Budgie's classic snap called "ubuntu-budgie-welcome" which is available in the beta channel. Ubuntu Budgie 18.04 daily ISO 25/02/2018 The snap works just fine on a normal install. However this classic snap fails on the Ubuntu Budgie live session. As snaps become more prevalent - snaps - including classic snaps should work on live sessions. For Ubuntu Budgie, the classic snap is very important because it presents the user vital info about the distro and instructions on how to install. Copying the .desktop launcher from the menu I see the following issue in a terminal: ubuntu-budgie@ubuntu-budgie:~$ env BAMF_DESKTOP_FILE_HINT=/var/lib/snapd/desktop/applications/ubuntu-budgie-welcome_budgie-welcome.desktop /snap/bin/ubuntu-budgie-welcome.budgie-welcome %U snap-confine has elevated permissions and is not confined but should be. [Bug 1605831] Re: flatpak crashed with SIGSEGV in ostree_checksum_inplace_from_bytes()
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug has been reported for flatpak 0.6.X and Ubuntu 16.10 (both of which are unsupported and out of date), I have tried running a similar command to what the crash shows was executed (flatpak install flathub org.gnome.Platform 3.26), and this worked fine with flatpak 0.8.X on Ubuntu 17.10. The original issue looks like it might have been a bug in ostree, but has hopefully now been resolved. However if it still occurs please try opening a bug upstream, for ostree https://github.com/ostreedev/ostree/issues or for flatpak https://github.com/flatpak/flatpak/issues Therefore, for the reasons stated above, I am marking this bug as incomplete. ** Changed in: flatpak (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1605831 Title: flatpak crashed with SIGSEGV in ostree_checksum_inplace_from_bytes() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/flatpak/+bug/1605831/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected sylvia ** Description changed: I installed fresh from Mint 18.3 ISO today on my latitude E6410. After the no network install I set up a second monitor. Then I applied a bunch of level 1 and 2 updates. [Bug 1751512] Re: Kernel 4.13.0-32 goes dark after boot with two monitors
apport information ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed ** Tags added: apport-collected sylvia ** Description changed: I did a new install today of Mint 18.3 on my laptop. Dell latitude E6410 Installed without connecting to the internet. After install finished I booted a few times before connecting an external monitor. It still booted ok. Then I ran the software update and got a bunch of level 1 and level 2 updates. No problems. There were four level 3 updates systemd 229-4ubuntu21.1 linix-firmware 1.157.16 linux-libc-dev 4.4.0-116.140 linuxkernel 4.13.0-36.40-16.041 I installed them one at a time and restarted the laptop after each one. After the kernel update the laptop would boot and show the square mint icon for a brief time them the screen goes dark. Once I disconected the external monitor the laptop rebooted correctly. I tested the external montior with VGA and HDMI to DVI cable. The same response. I reverted to the 4.10.0-38 kernel that came with the installer ISO. Am back up and running. There is a problem with the new kernel. + --- + ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.15 + Architecture: amd64 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USERPID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC0: alan 1777 F pulseaudio + CurrentDesktop: MATE + DistroRelease: Linux 18.3 + HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=d536e87b-7a3c-48dc-9e30-ed32fc32e74a + InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-02-24 (1 days ago) + InstallationMedia: Linux Mint 18.3 "Sylvia" - Release amd64 20171124 + Lsusb: + Bus 002 Device 004: ID 0a5c:5800 Broadcom Corp. [Bug 1751656] [NEW] Installing 18.04 LTS on existing Partition
Public bug reported: Downloaded ISO 18.04 LTS from 22 February 2018 to try the new 18.04 LTS. Have got a system with a SCSI Raid (sdc) and two SAS drives. Actualy there are two installations on sdc1 and sdc3 with 16.04 LTS. Grub working fine to change from System sdc1 to sdc3 I booted from CD (Iso burned to disc) and following the steps to install 18.04 LTS. First steps working fine. But at the Filesystem setup the installation stucks. First Question Choose guided or manual partitioning I only got the two Options: * Use an entire Disk * Manual No Option Other there When Choosing Manual I got the File System Summary: No Disks or partitions mounted. I can see al three Disks (sda, sdb and sdc) but only got the choice to "Add first Partition". When Choosing "Use an entire Disk" a Python Script starts and stops with last two lines: "File /snap/subiquity/233/lib/python3.6/site-packages/subiquitycore/ui/form.cy, line 303 in remove_field for bf in self._fields: AttributeError: 'PartitionFOrm' object has no attribute '_fields' " and the Progress jumps back to First Step ob Installation (Choosing Language) Maybe the Lines before are able to help: Script seems to be a part of Package subiquity I have no idea how to install on sdc3 to test 18.04 LTS. Input of "fdisk -l /dev/sdc" on running system 16.04 shows: Disk /dev/sdc: 136 GiB, 145999527936 bytes, 285155328 sectors Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disklabel type: dos Disk identifier: 0x000b67ed Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type /dev/sdc12048 136720797 136718750 65,2G 83 Linux /dev/sdc2 276770814 285153279 83824664G 5 Extended /dev/sdc3 *136722432 276768767 140046336 66,8G 83 Linux /dev/sdc5 276770816 285153279 83824644G 82 Linux swap / Solaris Partition table entries are not in disk order. [Bug 1751653] [NEW] Minecraft makes Ubuntu GNOME extremely slow
Public bug reported: Hi! I've had Ubuntu 16 with Unity on my children's older computer and Minecraft (downloaded and installed from Software Center) worked just fine. I then did a clean install to Ubuntu 17 with GNOME and downloaded and installed Minecraft in the same way, but when the final Minecraft playwindow pops up Ubuntu is really slow and hardly respond. After I installed Unity and run it instead of GNOME, everything worked great again. Maybe Java OpenJDK doesn't work well with GNOME? Is this something you can fix? I would prefer to run the preinstalled GNOME instead of Unity, especially since GNOME is the choice for Ubuntu from now on, and I'm planning on upgrading to the upcoming version 18 of Ubuntu. Thank you for a nice operating system otherwise. [Bug 1749673] Re: Fcitx translation to Catalan not imported
The translations including the template were stripped when fcitx 1:4.2.9.6-1 was uploaded. https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/bionic/+upload/17654442/+files/fcitx_4.2.9.6-1_amd64_translations.tar.gz However, LP refused to import anything. https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/bionic/+source/fcitx/+imports So while the package side of this has been addressed, the LP import issue (which affects multiple packages) remains to be solved. So, Walter, since fcitx-data no longer installs any translations, the the Catalan translations were just dropped for the users. :( Hopefully this is just a temporary state which will soon be fixed on the Launchpad side. ** Changed in: fcitx (Ubuntu) Status: Fix Committed => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1749673 Title: Fcitx translation to Catalan not imported To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-translations/+bug/1749673/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
