[Bug 1758250] [NEW] window and application rules in a plasma wayland session

2018-03-22 Thread tortosa
Public bug reported:

With plasma session kde 18.04 beta 1, I start the application ktimer
with the rules (for the windows and the application) "minimize", "ignore
the task bar", "ignore the desktop" & "ignore the task selector" at
"YES" for lunching.

This rules can be defined with config system or right clic on the
window's menu supplementary action / window's rules & application's
rules.

Sorry for my english.

Doing, that, when ktimer is started, its window is closed and only the
icon is visible in the notification area.

That's what I want.

When I logout and then login in my plasma wayland session, these rules
have no effects.

Ktimer's window is visible.

With right click, supplementary menus window's rules & application's
rules are not activated and can't be selected.

I can change the rules with config system but nothing change.

[Bug 1741390] Re: Please backport open-vm-tools 2:10.2.0-3 (main) from bionic

2018-03-22 Thread ChristianEhrhardt
Hi evade,
yes it is taken care of.

In Packaging there are source and binary packages.
When we say "we update X" we mean we upload a new src:X
But from your consumption point of view you use binary packages (that is what
you install).
And src:open-vm-tools creates open-vm-tools-dev, open-vm-tools-desktop,
open-vm-tools
So you'll be good once this completes.

Afterwards I hope to be able to do kind of a retrospective with all
involved people and make this a regular action to backport the new
version that goes out with an Ubuntu Release back to the last LTS at
least - but lets first complete this work here :-)

Hi Nguyen,

Pauls patch(https://patchwork.ozlabs.org/project/kvm-
ppc/list/?series=35017) yet to get merged in linux master as of
now{f36b7534b833 (HEAD -> master, upstream/master) Merge branch 'akpm'
(patches from Andrew)}

Does ubuntu daily kernel include custom patches?

If it does not include custom patches and one reason why you do not hit
the issue now, coz qemu disable cap-htm by default temporarily till the
above kernel patches included, check if that is the case.

you can confirm the TM patches are included by explicitly start qemu-kvm
command with cap-htm=on

Regards,
-Satheesh.

[Bug 1739665] Re: [FFE][Feature] KVM CLX avx512_vnni

2018-03-22 Thread ChristianEhrhardt
Hi,
For Qemu this needs a a feature freeze exception for the qemu change was
identified after 1st of March.
Sorry, I missed the update with the upstream sha for a bit, otherwise I'd have
marked it as FFE earlier, but IMHO it is no problem.
The patch is rather small and does not imply extra danger IMHO.

So getting a Feature Freeze ack by the release team is very likely.
But lets stay formal and do that.

Afterwards I can upload the package with the qemu fix applied.

[Bug 1756501] Re: Ubuntu Firefox Desktop icon is HUGE (about 5 times normal) after update to 59.0 (64-bit) Ubuntu canonical build, can't resize by any normal method.

2018-03-22 Thread Roger Davis
How long until the fix shows up in a real-world update, or will that
even happen in a way that will fix the current installation?

If not, how can I fix this directly ? If I manually put different size
icons into the apps folders eg /usr/share/icons/hicolor/64x64/apps, will
the normal resizing now work?

You need:

6964e6a4e489 ("KVM: PPC: Book3S HV: Do SLB load/unload with guest LPCR
value loaded", 2018-01-11)

00608e1f007e ("KVM: PPC: Book3S HV: Allow HPT and radix on the same core

cda4a1473313 ("KVM: PPC: Book3S HV: Fix duplication of host SLB
entries", 2018-03-22)

The last one is in my kvm-ppc-fixes branch on kernel.org but not in the
KVM tree or Linus's tree yet.

[Bug 1734034] Re: Cannot Use the Character U07AE on any Editor

According to the bug report you are using Wayland so Xorg has nothing to
do with it (especially since gedit is affected, which rules out Xwayland
too).

This sounds like a bug in the low level of the shell, so assigning to
mutter and libinput for now.

[Bug 1758243] [NEW] bumblebee needs configuration changes to work with nvidia-driver-390 and libglvnd0

2018-03-22 Thread Rocko
Public bug reported:

bumblebee fails to work in Ubuntu 18.04 with nvidia-driver-390 unless
these configuration changes are made:

1. For optirun to work, /etc/bumblebee/bumblebee.conf needs two library
paths changed (because of the changes for GLVND):

[driver-nvidia]
LibraryPath=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu:/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu
XorgModulePath=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/nvidia/xorg,/usr/lib/xorg/modules,/usr/lib/xorg/modules/input

With these changes, optirun works correctly on my laptop (using the
primus bridge) but primusrun still fails.

2. For power management to work (ie turning the nvidia card off whilst
not in use), the nouveau and nvidia modules need blacklisting so they
don't load on boot, and nvidia_drm and nvidia_modeset need aliasing to
off so they never load. Otherwise, nvidia_drm attaches to drm_kms_helper
and then bumblebee can't unload the nvidia module and turn off the card.
This configuration file in /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-bl.conf works for me:

blacklist nouveau
blacklist nvidia
blacklist nvidia_drm
blacklist nvidia_modeset
alias nouveau off
alias nvidia_drm off
alias nvidia_modeset off

(The first two lines are already in bumblebee.conf. I found I also had
to alias nouveau to off because gdm?/mutter? so desperately wants to
load it.)
