[Bug 1770040] Re: lbaas load balancer does not forward traffic unless agent restarted
This was reproduced with a heat template, but just running the steps at the start of the case from horizon are enough. Note that neutron- gateway was deployed with aa-profile-mode set to complain, not the default setting. Changing this to 'disable' seems to have fixed the problem, more testing is in progress. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1770040 Title: lbaas load balancer does not forward traffic unless agent restarted To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/charm-neutron-gateway/+bug/1770040/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1771028] Re: Apparmor profile for chronyd needs to allow creation of /var/run/chrony.tty*.sock
Hi Mark, thanks for the report - we only discussed with peers about gpsd via shm so far. The rule for that would be too open which is why it is disabled with a comment in the apparmor profile atm. For gpsd via tty I'd have expected all chrony files in /var/run/chrony/... as most of them are in general, which is why we have the rule: /{,var/}run/chrony/{,*} rw, Similar for /var/log and /var/lib But the path you mention is obviously outside that rule :-/ I realized this is a free-form config entry for the refclock and one "could" set /var/run/chrony/..., but I've also seen that the example in man chrony.conf is exactly the path that you are reporting, like: refclock SOCK /var/run/chrony.ttyS0.sock After your report of this example being "outside" the usual paths I wanted to make sure there are no similar examples we hit in just a few weeks. So I read through the man page and found a few more. Overall I found: # Support all paths suggested in the man page (LP: #1771028). Assume these # are common use cases; others should be set as local include (see below). # Configs using a 'chrony.' prefix like the tempcomp config file example /etc/chrony.* r, # Example gpsd socket is outside /{,var/}run/chrony/ /{,var/}run/chrony.tty{,*}.sock rw, # To sign replies to MS-SNTP clients by the smbd daemon /var/lib/samba/ntp_signd rw, Lets (try to) combine that with a merge (unless it is complex and would stall this fix) of the most recent chrony as there was a new release way into our Feature Freeze and from there SRU to Bionic. Summary: - most common cases were covered by generic rules for lib/log/run and device paths already - the suggested new rule is fine (Thanks!) - the new use case (due to the man page pointing there) is expected to be common as well - now that we spotted this lets look at similar cases to fix all at once P.S. @Mark - if you find other issues due to using GPSD or other less common options please let me know as well. ** Changed in: chrony (Ubuntu) Status: New => In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1771028 Title: Apparmor profile for chronyd needs to allow creation of /var/run/chrony.tty*.sock To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chrony/+bug/1771028/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1607067] Re: Add a dotfiles / hidden files interface
Hello. Sorry for the lag, we have a few bugs and feature requests and just a handful of hands to make them all fixed. We have added one pair of interfaces, specifically for ssh keys (public and private) as a pair of interfaces. I don't think we will add a generic "this dot file" interface but we can easily add a dedicated one (for a specific dot file) because this has measurable security impact and can be appropriately gated. I would prefer to close this bug and open one for a specific new interface. Such interface can be implemented and tested in about an hour. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1607067 Title: Add a dotfiles / hidden files interface To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/snapd/+bug/1607067/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1666681] Re: Restore interactive_search.patch (type-ahead search)
Lubomir, what changes were required on top of the arch patch to work with 3.26.3? I'm using the Arch patch as-is on Ubuntu 18.04 and there don't appear to be any problems that I've noticed so far. But assuming your changes are necessary, could you publish them somewhere? It would be great to maybe have a public git repo that people could contribute to to maintain patches for the latest few versions of Nautilus that are in common use. Ubuntu devs - now that there is a working patch again (and seemingly the will to maintain it by the arch community and others), might Ubuntu be able to ship a patched nautilus once more restoring this behaviour? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/181 Title: Restore interactive_search.patch (type-ahead search) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/181/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

At their web site, Nvidia is able to detect the specific nvidia GPU present in the current system from the web page. It would thus seem to be reasonable for an nvidia package installation to perfom a similar check during installation, and compare the current GPU against a list of those supported by the software being installed. Unless manually overridden, this could be used to prevent installation of versions of software known to be incompatible with the current GPU from interfering with a separate installation of compatible software. (or to revert steps already performed it if the check could not be performed before changes had already been made) The use of such a check could be prophylactic against bug reports such as this one. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1767116 Title: package nvidia-340 (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/lib/udev/rules.d/71-nvidia.rules', which is also in package nvidia-kernel-common-390 390.48-0ubuntu3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-340/+bug/1767116/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1470235] Re: PolicyKit high memory usage
I have this issue on 17.10 and 18.04 but I'm not sure if it's related to the original reporter's case because for me I suspect it's related to amdgpu-pro. In earlier distributions the memory leak was elsewhere - I can't remember if it was in xorg or plasmashell, though. I *think* it also happened with fglrx, before amdgpu was released, but that was so long ago now I can't be sure. [Bug 1759836] Re: systemd-udevd consumes 100% of CPU
Adding some information in case it's useful. Old - but still useful - Intel Core 2 laptop with discrete Mobility Radeon GPU. I had nvidia packages installed for development purposes years ago, but don't really use them any more. After the upgrade from 17.10 to 18.04 (only performed 2018-05-12, several days after official release), I noticed single-threaded 100% CPU usage from systemd-udevd, with modprobe starting and exiting over and over again. I saw lots of messages complaining about NVIDIA hardware not being found in dmesg output. After uninstalling the nvidia packages and rebooting, the high CPU usage seemed to go away. [Bug 1768115] Re: ISST-LTE:KVM:Ubuntu1804:BostonLC:boslcp3g1: Migration guest running with IO stress crashed@security_file_permission+0xf4/0x160.

Just a quick update, we noticed 2 other bugs pop up a few days ago where they hit very similar traces to what's been recorded here even without doing live migration. For instance Bug 167748 - LP1770784- ISST- LTE:KVM:Ubuntu1804:BostonLC:boslcp4g4:ubuntu1604:P8 compat: guest crashes in apparmor_file_alloc_security() [13244.120032] NIP [c0503788] aa_file_perm+0x238/0x4c0 [13244.120035] LR [c0503784] aa_file_perm+0x234/0x4c0 [13244.120035] Call Trace: [13244.120039] [c4ec7b90] [c0503784] aa_file_perm+0x234/0x4c0 (unreliable) [13244.120041] [c4ec7c90] [c04fe784] common_file_perm+0x134/0x250 [13244.120044] [c4ec7d10] [c048f088] security_file_permission+0x78/0x150 [13244.120047] [c4ec7d50] [c02e49ec] rw_verify_area+0x7c/0x190 [13244.120049] [c4ec7d90] [c02e4d4c] vfs_write+0x8c/0x230 [13244.120052] [c4ec7de0] [c02e5dbc] SyS_write+0x6c/0x110 [13244.120055] [c4ec7e30] [c0009484] system_call+0x38/0xe4 which has a similar beginning call trace to the initial bug reported here. And: Bug 167480 - ISST-LTE:KVM:Ubuntu1804:BostonLC:boslcp3g4:ubuntu1604:P8 compat guest crashed & enters into xmon after few hours of LTP run. [c002b1c13c10] c02faad8 path_openat+0x88/0x3c0 [c002b1c13c90] c02fca3c do_filp_open+0xfc/0x170 [c002b1c13db0] c02e31d0 do_sys_open+0x1c0/0x3b0 [c002b1c13e30] c0009484 system_call+0x38/0xe4 which is similar to the crash I saw with filp_close. The major things those bugs have in common with this one is both the guest and host SAN disks are using block multiqueue instead of legacy deadline/cfq schedulers, which was seen to have issues WRT to other patches like the one mentioned here: https://bugzilla.linux.ibm.com/show_bug.cgi?id=167294#c47 We started testing using last Ubuntu 4.15 with a set of patches that Ziviani put together there: https://github.com/jrziviani/linux-devel/commits/BLK_MQ_CPU but I was still eventually able to hit a crash. However, when I disabled blk-mq via "scsi_mod.use_blk_mq=n dm_mod.use_blk_mq=n" in host/guest I didn't see any crashes after 130 migrations. However, I did see IO errors + read-only filesystem after extended runs, which have also been seen elsewhere with no live migration involved. So there's a possibly the bug here is related to issues seen elsewhere without live migration, and some initial evidence to suggesting that the crashes may be related to blk-mq, but not enough to say anything for certain. Ziviani is currently doing some testing with upstream kernel. If that still has issues then will move to testing potential KVM fixes but want to rule out blk-mq first since the issue may not be specific to live migration. ** Bug watch added: bugzilla.linux.ibm.com/ #167294 https://bugzilla.linux.ibm.com/show_bug.cgi?id=167294 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1768115 Title: ISST-LTE:KVM:Ubuntu1804:BostonLC:boslcp3g1: Migration guest running with IO stress crashed@security_file_permission+0xf4/0x160. The user config should work fine, once set to jpg - for the depth of the problem just follow the debian bug: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=893809 - that will lead you to the relevant upstream things. To make it short: 1.97 will not be fixed unless someone stand up and spend time on dead code.
