[Bug 1624320] Re: systemd-resolved appends 127.0.0.53 to resolv.conf alongside existing entries

2019-02-19 Thread Adrian Wilkins
My problem with systemd-resolved :

* My router hands out a nameserver (itself) via DNS
* When I'm inside my network, I want my router to resolve IP addresses for my
domain
* When I'm outside my network, I want the public DNS to resolve them

First lookup works fine! Then systemd-resolved (I guess) caches the
secondary lookup it's doing via public DNS servers and returns the
public IP address for the server. This is not what is desired, and
breaks a bunch of stuff (like SSH to my servers using names from inside
my network).

Never had this problem with dnsmasq, because it apparently respected my
network config and didn't do an end-run around the DNS servers it was
handed by DHCP.

Apparently, I am able to reproduce this quite easily with Xubuntu 18.04
as seen in bug #1815429 . The workaround which works for me is to add
the ppa:xubuntu-dev/experimental and upgrade xfwm4 to version 4.13

@paelzer, I'm not able to bisect that down at this stage and would
rather rely on someone else to do that.

I don't think LP: #1816006 is related though since that one still
applies to Disco and this one is fixed with squid 4.4 shipped in Disco.

[Bug 1814341] Re: Xbox 360 controller doesn't work in Ubuntu 18.10 anymore

2019-02-19 Thread Mario Limonciello
For now you can do one of three things:

1) mask the fwupd systemd service if you don't use it for anything. This will
stop it from running.
2) Modify the plugin blacklist in /etc/fwupd/daemon.conf to blacklist the
ebitdo plugin
3) Backport that fix manually https://github.com/hughsie/fwupd/commit/76bdc8c3

[Bug 1641238]

2019-02-19 Thread Ylavic-dev
Thanks Michael for the very appropriate test: first 401 which avoids the
"100 continue" danse and thus gets forwarded with "connection: close",
second 201 with the full thing.

Great!

Thank your for the extensive patch. Looking forward to see this on 2.4.x

[Bug 1814341] Re: Xbox 360 controller doesn't work in Ubuntu 18.10 anymore

2019-02-19 Thread Marcus Schmitt
I am still not able to see my XBOX controller in fs-uae.
I use fwupd 1.1.2-1 on Ubuntu 18.10.

The controller is a Speedlink Strike NX which was displayed as XBox
controller in fs-uae before I upgraded from 18.04 to 18.10.

Is there a information I could provide to get it working ?

[Bug 1816660] [NEW] Extremely slow graphical desktop startup process Ubuntu 18.10

2019-02-19 Thread László Tóth
Public bug reported:

I have experienced a stubborn issue after upgrading my Ubuntu from 18.04
to 18.10. Every time I would like to login into my system via lightdm
the login process takes a lot of time (more than 2 minutes). This is
definitely an issue because this process took about half minutes in my
previous version of Ubuntu. The issues is affected both GNOME and XFCE.

I have tried resolve issues provided by journalctl but I did not found
solution regarding most of those problem. I am sure this problem affects
many users. I have been searching solution and also workaround such as
install another desktop environment would be appreciated.

I have tried

 - removing xdg-desktop-portal
 - removing gnome-keyring

Both of them issued error.

 - reinstall lightdm

None of them was successful.

[Bug 1816658] [NEW] Right click on touch screens not supposed to be supported?

2019-02-19 Thread udippel
Public bug reported:

So it seems. If not, I'd consider this a bug, rather than a RFE. 10
years ago we were told that KDE 3.5 had to go, and Plasma had to come to
support such screens.

I searched Dr. Google and I searched in here, and didn't find a bug report, but
a number of posts that this would not be working. Now I finally have a decent
machine, run Kubuntu 18.04, and have so far not been able to set this
functionality up.
Under System Settings it doesn't show up as input device, though it is a wacom
device on a Lenovo machine.

It is a double boot machine and kind of seems to get me back on Windows
after some 20 years of absence, because I love the touch screen,
including the Thinkpad pen. The pen also works, but also doesn't effect
any right click. I am fully agreeable with the behaviour of the context
menu popping up from a longer touch of a screen target.

[Bug 1816657] [NEW] Auditd Segfaults When Starting after Reboot

2019-02-19 Thread Scott Bisker
Public bug reported:

In Bionic with auditd 1:2.8.2-1ubuntu1 and an /etc/audit/auditd.conf
present, auditd segfaults after every reboot. If I manually install
auditd 1:2.8.3-1ubuntu2 from Cosmic, the issue is corrected. It seems
the bugfix wasn't backported to Bionic. It seems to be related to this
issue reported with RHEL

[Bug 1816650] [NEW] 4.19+ (and possibly -stable trees?) need a fix from upstream

2019-02-19 Thread Nish Aravamudan
Public bug reported:

So I think this commit:

https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/6a9e461f6fe4434e6172304b69774daff9a3ac4c

has been backported to some -stable trees.

This makes lldpd < 1.0.3 duplicate entries. I think given both -stable
trees in existing Ubuntu and the HWE stack in 18.04 (even if only
18.04.3), we should backport

https://github.com/vincentbernat/lldpd/pull/307/commits/0638075c721323aa6aeab9c6ab282861f53c9f2f

to the source package in 18.04+.

[Bug 1814982] Re: efi/arm/arm64: Allow SetVirtualAddressMap() to be omitted

2019-02-19 Thread mahmoh
Snapdragon 835 Laptop Results:

4.15 boots to the first 4 lines before kernel
4.18 boots most of the kernel, stops for a bit, then suffers with an rshed crash
5.0 boots to the end of the kernel log, then the screen goes blank

Without this patch on the 835 laptops the user sees grub and then
nothing and is left sad; however, with this patch the user sees some
form of kernel life on the laptops and is left hopeful - which leads
them to start looking around for fixes and help with the solution.

Additional patches will need to be backported but without this patch
it's a non-starter until 5.1 or after.

If there is little to no regression risk as this adds a kernel parameter
and this is required to enable these platforms to boot, if not other
platforms, I would argue to include the patch for at least Disco if not
Bionic since random people will attempt to boot the LTS release. Thank
you for building the test kernel.

[Bug 1816641] [NEW] Xorg Session crash out upon resuming

2019-02-19 Thread Karl Kastner
Public bug reported:

Resume, suspend, find yourself logged out and all processes terminated.
Used to happen until a week ago only when there is an external monitor
connected and the VGA cable unplugged. Now it happens all the time after
resuming from suspend to ram.

Bug #1721428 (#1733127) for 17.10 reported the same issue and was set to
invalid with the comment to try 18.04 and then file a new bug. So 18.10
here, and it got worse.

[Bug 1816500] Re: Trying to set a desktop background in Gnome-Flashback

2019-02-19 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package gnome-flashback - 3.30.0-1ubuntu5

---
gnome-flashback (3.30.0-1ubuntu5) disco; urgency=medium

  * Make gnome-flashback-common depend on light-themes, as that package
ships a gsettings-override file which sets gtk-theme to Ambiance.
  * Stop disabling desktop-background component (LP: #1816500).

[Bug 1727202] Re: [17.10 regression] AppArmor ntp denial: Failed name lookup - disconnected path

2019-02-19 Thread Andreas Hasenack
Right, the disconnected flag is in the openntpd (usr.sbin.ntpd) profile,
but not the journal one:

/run/systemd/journal/dev-log w,

What triggers the journal DENIED error? I see it was in the same DENIED
message then had the "disconnected" complaint, but I can't trigger it
(as the bug said in the beginning, the error might not happen all the
time).

[Bug 1665943] Re: Home directory has wrong ownership if created by lxd in arranging a mount first

2019-02-19 Thread Stéphane Graber
Yeah, not much LXD can do about this unfortunately. We do create any
missing intermediate directories as can be seen in this case, but
there's no good way to know what the owner of every one of those
intermediate directories should be, nor would it help here as skel still
wouldn't get applied.

You pretty much have two options:
 1) Only add the device after the container initial's start
 2) Bind-mount this stuff somewhere other than the user's home directory

In the second case, I guess you could have a cloud-init snippet which
then sets up a systemd unit to bind-mount that inside the container from
/srv/whatever to /home/ubuntu/foo.

[Bug 1767817] Re: Full text search does not work

2019-02-19 Thread Thatoo
ok.
Thank you for hearing us.
I'll be glad to help making test if needed.

I'm not sure to understand what you wrote between bracket as some of us here
(including me) have fresh install of Ubuntu 18.04 or 18.10 . You mean that it
will be solved with 19.04?
That's a good news but the LTS is 18.04 so it would be nice to have this
corrected for the next 18.04.3...

[Bug 1816458] Re: Full load

2019-02-19 Thread El jinete sin cabeza
** Description changed:

  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-keyring/issues/25

  ---

  Description of problem:
After logging, the gnome-keyring-daemon process overloads the notebook. With
this I have a drop in performance.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Disco
  19.04.

  How reproducible:
- Forever.
+ Always.

  Steps to reproducible:
  1. Login with my user account and password in GDM3
  2. Then I check with the 'top' program in terminal
  3. I have had loads of ~ 7...11 (load average)

  Actual results:
The gnome-keyring-daemon process demands the processor. And therefore, the
computer does not respond quickly

  Expected results:
That when entering my session, the gnome-keyring-daemos process does not
occupy the processor so much. And so I can have a lighter session.

[Bug 1816634] [NEW] GNOME Shell consistently ignores mouse clicks in a particular app window

2019-02-19 Thread Steve McConnel
Public bug reported:

This is similar in some ways to
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1181666 but
affects only the mouse, not the keyboard, and is consistent almost all
(99%+) of the time. This is happening for Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS (bionic)
in the default desktop environment (Ubuntu). It also happens for the
GNOME and GNOME Classic desktop environments. The version of gnome-
shell is 3.28.3-0ubuntu0.18.04.4.

Our program is a blend of C# winforms (Mono) with embedded web browser
windows using Geckofx45 (mozilla version 45). Editing windows in the
program use HTML to display formatting and typescript/javascript code
to assist with popup dialogs and other editing help. Inside these
editing windows, left mouse clicks are essentially ignored. Keyboarding
still works fine as far as I can tell. Clicking on the gear button
inside the editing window fails to bring up the Styles dialog more than
95% of the time. When the dialog does display, it is always (100%)
nonfunctional as the first click in it causes it to close immediately.

Tracing the internal behavior of the code, it appears that clicking the
first time inside the editing (browser) window causes a series of
WM_FOCUS messages to be sent and the javascript to hook up a left mouse
click handler to a gear button displayed in the lower left corner of the
editing window. This is the expected behavior, and the same as on other
window managers. But then, on GNOME Shell only, a series of
WM_KILLFOCUS messages are sent immediately. This does not happen for
other window managers. (The main window receives a WM_ACTIVATE message
with the argument to make it deactivate.) Any other left mouse clicks
inside that window are ignored >95% of the time, probably only when
double clicking quickly enough to occur before those messages to lose
focus/deactivate are handled. (Right mouse clicks are handled at a
higher level and appear to function normally.)

The program in question is called Bloom. The source code is available
at https://github.com/BloomBooks/BloomDesktop and prebuilt debian/ubuntu
packages are available at http://packages.sil.org/ubuntu/ as bloom-
desktop or bloom-desktop-beta. After spending a few days looking at
this problem, I've reluctantly come to the conclusion that it must be a
GNOME Shell bug that I can't work around in our code. It's working fine
in Microsoft Windows and all the other Linux window managers that I've
tested (Unity, Cinnamon, KDE Plasma, MATE, XFCE, and LXDE).

** Affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

** Attachment added: "picture showing Editing window in Bloom. Mouse clicks
work fine in the picture box at the top, just not in the text box at the
bottom."
