[Bug 1821496] [NEW] Sennheiser GSX 1000/1200 Volume control is interpreted badly
Public bug reported: These cards are picked up as having mute/VolUp/VolDown buttons, but they only ever report a VolDown. Windows behavior (without manually installed drivers) appears to match OS-side volume to the display on the card, which suggests the card tries to report its volume level as an absolute value. Ubuntu interprets it as turning the volume down (even if the volume was actually turned up). My workaround was to remap the "buttons" on the card to "reserved" using the hwdb and manage OS-side volume with media keys on my actual keyboard. [Bug 1821494] [NEW] Sennheiser GSX 1000/1200: only one subdevice exposed by Pulse & incorrect channel mapping
Public bug reported: Similar to the Steelseries Arctis headphones, these sound "cards" present as two output devices, one intended for voice chat and one for everything else. As a result they also need a special profile. But there's another complication. They also have hardware HRTF that requires no special driver logic; instead, the "everything else" output pretends to be 7.1, and simply applies the HRTF to the streams sent by the host. However, the channel mappings picked up by ALSA are wrong -- the rear speakers and center/LFE are swapped. I know, technically this is two bugs, but they have the same fix which is impractical to separate. I'm attaching a "sennheiser-gsx.conf" based on the Arctis 7 profile that both corrects the channel mapping and exposes both output subdevices. A simple udev rule seals the deal: ATTRS{idVendor}=="1395", ATTRS{idProduct}=="005e", ENV{PULSE_PROFILE_SET }="sennheiser-gsx.conf" ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 Package: pulseaudio 1:11.1-1ubuntu7.2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.18.0-16.17~18.04.1-generic 4.18.20 Uname: Linux 4.18.0-16-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_modeset nvidia ApportVersion: 2.20.9-0ubuntu7.6 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC3: roothorick 7548 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC2: roothorick 7548 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: roothorick 7548 F pulseaudio CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Sat Mar 23 23:09:21 2019 InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-09-12 (193 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Release amd64 (20180725) ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm-256color PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: pulseaudio UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 08/07/2014 dmi.bios.vendor: American Megatrends Inc. dmi.bios.version: 2004 dmi.board.asset.tag: To be filled by O.E.M. dmi.board.name: H87M-E dmi.board.vendor: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. dmi.board.version: Rev X.0x dmi.chassis.asset.tag: Asset-1234567890 dmi.chassis.type: 3 dmi.chassis.vendor: Chassis Manufacture dmi.chassis.version: Chassis Version dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAmericanMegatrendsInc.:bvr2004:bd08/07/2014:svnASUS:pnAllSeries:pvrSystemVersion:rvnASUSTeKCOMPUTERINC.:rnH87M-E:rvrRevX.0x:cvnChassisManufacture:ct3:cvrChassisVersion: dmi.product.family: ASUS MB dmi.product.name: All Series dmi.product.sku: All dmi.product.version: System Version dmi.sys.vendor: ASUS modified.conffile..etc.pulse.daemon.conf: [modified] modified.conffile..etc.pulse.default.pa: [modified] mtime.conffile..etc.pulse.daemon.conf: 2019-03-23T20:51:33.488207 mtime.conffile..etc.pulse.default.pa: 2019-03-23T23:03:49.029912 ** Affects: pulseaudio (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug bionic ** Attachment added: "sennheiser-gsx.conf" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1821494/+attachment/5248935/+files/sennheiser-gsx.conf -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1821494 Title: Sennheiser GSX 1000/1200: only one subdevice exposed by Pulse & incorrect channel mapping To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/1821494/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1816808] Re: [disco] OSK does not appear under wayland when a text-entry is focused
Hi Andrea, If the LibreOffice crashes mentioned in bug #1761554 have been fixed, we should indeed revisit this issue. Is that something you have confirmed yourself? If so, adding back the fix which prevents the variable from being set on Wayland would be motivated. I think that the latest upstream im-config version (40-1) would take care of this bug. OTOH, the delta between im-config 38-1 and 40-1 is not trivial, and since we are late in the cycle, I feel it would be safer to wait with that upgrade until after the release of Ubuntu 19.04. As regards X11, g-s-d - unlike im-config - does not set GTK_IM_MODULE at all, but the variable has been set for many cycles on Ubuntu including the flavors. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1816808 Title: [disco] OSK does not appear under wayland when a text-entry is focused To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/im-config/+bug/1816808/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1749942] Re: Smokeping 2.6.11-4 probe FPing is not compatible with fping 4.0 when setting sourceaddress option.
Hi there! I've recently started co-maintaining the smokeping package in debian with Antoine Beaupré and I've worked on updating the package to 2.7.3. it was recently brought to my attention (on the smokeping users mailing list) that this bug existed in the ubuntu version of smokeping. This bug is specific to bionic (at least in terms of ubuntu LTS releases) because the version of smokeping shipped in bionic is not compatible with the version of fping. I've written a fix for upstream that was merged before 2.7.3 was released, and so I believe that by cherry-picking this patch we'd be fixing the issue for ubuntu. The patch in question is here: https://github.com/oetiker/SmokePing/commit/681457d0872057f79e2b2f97fa6ff8b6b415b48c I'm currently trying to figure out how to produce a debdiff for easier consumption by someone that can push a change to ubuntu. If I don't send a debdiff this week-end though and someone is able to easily integrate the above patch in the package, then please do go ahead and don't wait for my input! I'll try and do my best to format this during the week-end though. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1749942 Title: Smokeping 2.6.11-4 probe FPing is not compatible with fping 4.0 when setting sourceaddress option. [Bug 694224] Re: Synchronous notifications briefly steal focus
Hello from 2019. This is still a problem for me on Ubuntu 18.10. Is this bug still being worked on? Could it be a related problem to gnome notifications in general? I can be typing in a chat room and often times the enter key will go to the notification that popped up because a song track has changed and the enter key instead forwards to the next track. This also steals focus when notifications from GSConnect come up. Awkardly typing a reply to SMS/WhatsApp messages. The volume OSD does not take focus. I apologize if this is the incorrect program to provide this bug-report for. [Bug 1729576] Re: cannot perform operation: mount --rbind /snap /snap: Permission denied
While snapd can read the home directory from the gecos system it is not the technical difficulty preventing the use of arbitrary home directory. This feature is currently unsupported and is listed as such on https://forum.snapcraft.io/t/limitations-in-snapd/9718 I'm sorry for the inconvenience but we had to place those limitations on the user's data location for now. As a workaround you can always mount the desired volume instead of using symbolic links. You can store /home/user anywhere you want as long as you use the mount system to do that. The same goes for /root. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1729576 Title: cannot perform operation: mount --rbind /snap /snap: Permission denied To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bug/1729576/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
