[Bug 1825639] Re: Pulseaudio skips some time in the audio buffer, causing a bluetooth delay and crackling/clicking sound. [Broadcom Corp. BCM20702 Bluetooth 4.0]

2019-04-24 Thread Hammad R
I will report back once I have had time to re-modify my BIOS to remove
the WiFi whitelist, and then test my Intel 7260 on there with
coexistance (I'm sure the iwlwifi implements coexistence on all wifi +
bt cards, but its there for sure on my one anyway). This may take a few
weeks, but thanks for helping me out Daniel.

2019-04-24 Thread Shaun Crampton
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

I see something similar (but different) to bug 1766076 on a Dell 5530:

  - Using kernel 5.0.4 from UKUU (because current Ubuntu kernel suffers from
other bugs that make this dock unusable)
  - BIOS 1.6.0
  - TB16 dock with a single monitor on the display port, providing power, using
native enumeration setting in the BIOS
  - Microsoft comfort curve keyboard, webcam, headset connected to dock USB
ports
  - Wired ethernet via the dock.

Keyboard stops responding frequently. There is no output in dmesg when
this happens. If I later unplug the keyboard I see a disconnection
message in dmesg and I can reconnect it to the same port. Sometimes it
works for a day after this, other times it works for <60s.

- Other devices disconnect too but the pattern is different. Much more
- likely to see the disconnect under heavy load, such as webcam/headset
- getting disconnected during a conference call.

[Bug 1826252] [NEW] by-id/wwn symlinks for virtio-scsi and multipath-tools not present

2019-04-24 Thread Ryan Harper
Public bug reported:

In vmtest, we use virtio-scsi controller with scsi-hd devices. When we
supply them with a wwn property, 60-persistent-storage.rules will create
a /dev/disk/by-id/wwn- to point to the disk with said
property.

In disco, we now include multipath-tools which brings in sg3-utils-udev
which provides a 55-scsi-sg3_id.rules file which runs before 60
-persistent-storage.rules.

In the sg3 rules, it uses sg_inq to extract values from the device.

The result is that a virtio-scsi/scsi-hd device does not expose ID_WWN
in the same way, and if no serial value is set on the device, sg3 rules
will *create* and ID_SERIAL value from the device model and other
attributes.

This _prevents_ 60-persisten-storage.rules from running scsi_id which
*does* find the the ID_WWN property on the scsi-hd.

[Bug 1569567] Re: Running update-grub does not update /boot/grub/grub.cfg with GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT from /etc/default/grub

2019-04-24 Thread Felix Bünemann
This also affects Ubuntu Xenial on DigitalOcean and AWS EC2, where the
defaults are overridden by /etc/default/grub.d/50-cloudimg-settings.cfg.

I think it would help, if the additional location was mentioned in
grub.cfg, which currently states:

# It is automatically generated by grub-mkconfig using templates
# from /etc/grub.d and settings from /etc/default/grub

In addition the /etc/default/grub.d location should be mentioned inside
/etc/default/grub.

- 1:0.1~git20161216.0.b90293c-1:
+ [Impact]
+ Continuous exceptions in log files when NSS directory service is enabled (See
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=925585). This was causing
excessive log activity and impacting functionality when using NSS directory
service.

- twextpy (1:0.1~git20161216.0.b90293c-2) unstable; urgency=low
+ The main problem is that there are constructors in NssUserRecord and
+ NssGroupRecord classes, which have different definition compared to the
+ constructions of the interface (parent class). To fix this, I have
+ removed constructors for NssUserRecord and NssGroupRecord classes
+ allowing them to fallback to the constructor of their parent class

- * Removed constructors for NssUserRecord and NssGroupRecord classes allowing
- them to fallback to the constructor of their parent class (Closes:
#923230)
+ [Test Case]
+ * Install calendarserver 9.2 and twextpy 1:0.1~git20161216.0.b90293c-1
+ * Set up NSS directory service as described in
/usr/share/doc/calendarserver/README.Debian.gz
+ * Start calendarserver
+ * Access a calendar using caldav client. Username and password will be that
of NSS user.
+ * You will see errors in calendarserver logs (/var/log/caldavd/error.log)

uca: workaround patches are needed in mitaka and ocata. Mitaka can pull
from Xenial build as usual, and debdiff for Ocata attached. Other UCA
releases are later than 2.9 and so are fixed with the upstream fix
mentioned in the description.

Any idea when the verification can be done to unblock other horizon SRU

[Bug 1751588] Re: python3-sympy package should NOT recommend, but only suggest texlive-fonts-extra package

2019-04-24 Thread Georges Khaznadar
I shall not fix this bug for Debian, where I maintain the package. When
I manage a system with scarse disk capabilities, I disallow the
resolution of Recommends; if the package sympy was depending on texlive-
fonts-extra, it would not be possible, but as it only recommends it, I
can have sympy without the big package. Many users of sympy are using it
with ordinary laptops or desktops, which are currently sold with big
enough disks, i.e. 2 gigabytes may be less than 0.2% of the disk.

[Bug 1768976] Re: Ubuntu 18.04 is overheating after upgrade from 16.04

2019-04-24 Thread Simon Ádám
UPDATE:

Solved by disabling bluetooth in bios according to:

https://askubuntu.com/questions/1028883/ubuntu-18-04-systemd-udevd-uses-
high-cpu-conflict-with-wifi

It is silent and cool now.

Under the link you can find guys saying that this systemd-udevd 100% cpu
usage is because of the dell bluetooth. Others might have similar issues
with this. There is a probable solution here too if you want to use your
bluetooth too. I didn't try it though.

In summary: blacklisting nouveau, installing nvidia driver and disabling
bluetooth solved the overheat problem for me.

I feel this is a workaround though, and linux shouldn't overheat in any
case.

patch, please remove the "patch" flag from the attachment, remove the
"patch" tag, and if you are member of the ~ubuntu-sponsors, unsubscribe

[Bug 1825651] Re: Transmission freezes when adding second magnet in Ubuntu 19.04

2019-04-24 Thread Toan Nguyen
The issue seems to only appear when directly clicking link from browser.
You can go to https://nyaa.si/ in the "Link" column, there's U-like
symbols, those are magnet link. Just click it.

[Bug 1822062] Re: Race condition on boot between cups and sssd

2019-04-24 Thread Eric Desrochers
There is a debian->ubuntu sync right now in eoan-proposed.

I'll sponsor it once the actual sync is completed and found in eoan-
releases.

Meanwhile, could you please report a bug and forward the patch to debian
to make sure the problem is fix to prevent re-introducing the issue at
next debian->ubuntu sync/merge.

- Eric

[Bug 1826151] Re: Can someone help me out and explain or point me in the right direction on how to check video drivers and see if my video card running okay

2019-04-24 Thread Nowres Rafid
There was a good tool called jockey, but I don't know why it was removed
and what replaced it.

For you graphics card, you have 2 options:
- Nouveau: Free opensource driver for nvidia cards
- Proprietary driver from Nvidia

I recommend you use the proprietary driver for maximum performance. For
better compatibility and integration, use nouveau the opensource one.

To check if the proprietary driver is installed run:
ubuntu-drivers debug

at the bottom it will list each compatible proprietary driver and
whether it's installed or not.

Other tools that may help you:
nvidia-smi
nvidia-settings
glxinfo | egrep "OpenGL vendor|OpenGL renderer*"

[Bug 1826237] [NEW] Not possible to offload ct_state flows (OVS firewalling in openstack)

2019-04-24 Thread Junien Fridrick
Public bug reported:

Hi,

Running Ubuntu 18.04, kernel 4.15.0-47-generic, openvswitch
2.10.0-0ubuntu2~cloud0.
I enabled OVS offloading in OpenStack by following
https://docs.openstack.org/neutron/rocky/admin/config-ovs-offload.html

It would appear that if you use OVS firewalling in neutron, neutron will
create flows with the "ct_state" property, and these flows cannot be
offloaded :

(from /var/log/openvswitch/ovs-vswitchd.log) :

Yeah it's an unfortunate and annoying issue I can't figure out :-(

So it's the qemu process that goes to 100% after live migration, and the
guest becomes unresponsive via VNC console and over the network. Libvirt
seems fine, and the live migration appears to complete successfully as
"virsh migrate --live" returned error code 0 and the VM shows as
"running" in virsh list.

I have attached the "virsh dumpxml" output from a different dead VM
along with the pidstat and strace output. I can run "perf" if you let me
know what options you need.

Thanks for your help,
Corey Melanson

[Bug 1734095] Re: Software & Updates not showing authorization popup [gnome-shell[N]: pushModal: invocation of begin_modal failed]

2019-04-24 Thread Colin Law
It doesn't seem to be to do with user settings as I have tried making a new
user and it fails for that user also.
I can also confirm that it is ok on Wayland, which is not surprising.
