[Bug 1839744] Re: Can't Copy Text Too Close to Frame Divider
I had a quick play with this on Lubuntu 19.10, terminator opened and split vertically. On the left-side-term I could select text from left- to-right as expected including first character of text, however in the right-side-term whenever the cursor moved to the left-most-character on a line of text, the cursor would switch to re-size my two terminals (thus I too could only select from the second character in a line). guiverc@d960-ubu2:~$ apt-cache policy terminator terminator: Installed: 1.91-4 Candidate: 1.91-4 Version table: *** 1.91-4 500 500 http://ftp.iinet.net.au/pub/ubuntu eoan/universe amd64 Packages 500 http://ftp.iinet.net.au/pub/ubuntu eoan/universe i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Tags added: eoan -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1839744 Title: Can't Copy Text Too Close to Frame Divider To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/terminator/+bug/1839744/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1839744] [NEW] Can't Copy Text Too Close to Frame Divider
Public bug reported: In Ubuntu 19.04, if you "Split Vertically", it becomes impossible to highlight a text-range that starts at the first character of the right- pane because the mouse-cursor goes into resize-mode before you can reach the left side of the first character. When I'm highlighting a small amount of text, this is not an issue, because I can simply click-drag from "right to left" (instead of "left to right"). However, on long text, where I'm scrolled up a ways, and want to highlight from "top to bottom", I cannot accomplish this without missing the first character of what I'm wanting to copy (or, I have to scroll down to the bottom of the desired-range and then highlight from "bottom to top" instead of "top to bottom". I hope I've described this clearly enough. Additionally, I should point out, that I have a 4K monitor, but I'm not sure that makes a difference in this issue. [Bug 1208993] Re: Ubuntu slows down and hangs while copying file from/to USB
Just began dealing with this issue in Ubuntu 19.04. Basic fresh installation. Copying ~1 TB between Hard Disk A and Hard Disk B caused the entire system to stop responding for minutes at a time. While it was 'responding' the mouse movement on-screen stuttered badly and drifted. Keyboard input is completely ignored. The data transfer is between two SATA drives. Copying from a USB stick has produced the same effect, however the data was ~120 GB. Using both cp as well as the file manager produces this effect. I notice the delay in response time in the terminal during these copy jobs, when attempting to type anything, the delay in a response in the system is nearly a full minute. I WAS able to reproduce this on my laptop as well, running the same fresh installation but with 24 GB ram and 16 CPU threads, from SSD to SSD instead of HDD to HDD. Just remove the file /home/xxx/.remmina/1565454518302.remmina Then you can run remmina again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/982526 Title: remmina crashed with Segmentation fault (core dumped) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/remmina/+bug/982526/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1839732] [NEW] A stop job is running for zabbix-server on shutdown
Public bug reported: Since the most recent update (4.0.11-1+bionic), when shutting down the server the server will wait during shutdown with "A stop job is running for zabbix-server... [Bug 1790861] Re: amdgpu.dc dual monitor issues when trying to sleep / power off the monitors
I am using one displayport 4k monitor, and one hdmi 1080p monitor. They keep waking each other up. [Bug 1830096] Re: Firefox 67 in Ubuntu 18.10 thinks it's an older version
THIS IS STUPID! The problem is arising in Ubuntu because the builds against the current supported versions of Ubuntu have differing BuildIDs. This is because some stupid idiot chose to use the build time as the BuildID. Whoever that was needs teaching some lessons in basic software design and development. what makes it worse is the the BuildID is hard-coded into the specific install. It is wrong to say that it would be rare for someone to have more than one version of Ubuntu and be sharing profiles across those installations. I know quite a few folk who try differing versions of Ubuntu and do just that. In my case, I have a current build of Xfce 19 amd64 and Cinnamon 18 amd64 on the same machine and also have Xfce 18 i386 on a very useful but old-ish netbook for work during travelling. I share profiles. The build of Firefox is EXACTLY the same version (68.0.1) on all three -- SO WHY THE F**K CAN'T I SHARE PROFILES!!??? There is a clear and obvious solution to this. Firefox HAS and EXISTING and PERFECTLY VALID Build ID SourceStamp. For what unearthly reason is that NOT being used as the means of identifying whether the profile is workable for the installed version of Firefox. Given that the rest of the profile coding is platform independent, this should be perfectly sufficient. [Bug 1817244] Re: Game needs gstreamer1.0-plugins-good
Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately not the hoped for outcome. Usually I'd agree with you about a 32-bit app needing gstreamer1.0 -plugins-good from i386. It's just that my tests worked otherwise here: only the amd64 version, but still sound and at least on the start screen no crash. What's your "wine --version"? About the implementation: No worries, I'm not going for an explicit cross-architecture dependency. I just try to figure out whether to recommend "gstreamer1.0-plugins-good" from libwine (--> libwine:i386 will install the i386 version, AND libwine:amd64 will install the amd64 version, so you usually end up with both) or if I add the recommend to wine (--> only the host architecture version gets installed) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1817244 Title: Game needs gstreamer1.0-plugins-good To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wine/+bug/1817244/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1817244] Re: Game needs gstreamer1.0-plugins-good
$ dpkg --print-architecture amd64 With gstreamer1.0-plugins-good:i386 removed and gstreamer1.0-plugins- good:amd64 present, iji.exe crashes for me (null pointer dereference). Reinstalling gstreamer1.0-plugins-good:i386 makes it work again. I haven't really taken things apart here in detail, but the game should have its audio codecs in-process, and since it's a 32-bit executable, it needs the i386 versions of both libwine and gstreamer1.0-plugins-good. I am not suggesting any cross-architecture dependencies, such as having libwine:amd64 depend on gstreamer1.0-plugins-good:i386. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1817244 Title: Game needs gstreamer1.0-plugins-good To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wine/+bug/1817244/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1795292] Re: ELAN469D touch pad not working
Hi Kai-Heng Feng, So I downloaded all the files, then ran "sudo dpkg -i linux-*.deb" (i think that is how you install the test kernel?) When I tried to boot without IVRS or quiet splash, it got stuck on "Loading initial ramdisk" and never got past it. So I tried to go in recovery, still got the IOAPIC[32] not in IVRS table, then eventually kernel panic again because "timer doesnt work through interrupt-remapped io-apic" https://imgur.com/Th1mdXB If you have more test I can try to boot to see what happens On a side note, for everyone else: On ubuntu and mint I had freezing happening every few days, never could last a week without it freezing at least once. However, since booting off kernel 5.2.3, ive not had any freezing yet. So you may want to try that kernel if you have also experienced freezing systems. Note, when I first booted, i got a blank cursor at the login screen. Had to install drivers from amd, and then it worked after a reboot. Still need the "ivrs_ioapic[32]=00:14.0" though. Could you let me know when would this be fixed? [Bug 1409185] Re: File Roller help is missing in Lubuntu: "Could not display help, the specified location is not supported"
Second thoughts. The Debian policy says: "The Recommends field should list packages that would be found together with this one in all but unusual installations." Hence using Recommends for yelp in those packages is well in line with how it's supposed to work, and since Lubuntu is out of the picture, there is no real issue to fix. [Bug 1836986] Re: Kernel 5.2.0-8: iwlwifi Microcode SW error detected Wireless-AC 9260
It is not resolved for me in 5.3.* Linux thinkpad 5.3.0-050300rc2-generic #201907281631 SMP Sun Jul 28 20:34:00 UTC 2019 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Only thing that seems to work for me is this: modprobe iwlwifi 11n_disable=1 bt_coex_active=0 Otherwise, machine locks up, I check dmesg and has the microcode errors for iwlwifi. Further, firmware also crashes with version 43 as well. Is this the same bug, should I open a separate ticket? [Bug 1775089] Re: fuse (sdl) freezes after a period running, taking 100% of a CPU core, and requires 'kill'ing
I think I found workaround for this problem - (non-standard) build fuse- sdl but without sdlsound.c and use alsasound.c instead. I spent some time debugging fuse code. It looks like it got stuck in infinite loop in sound_lowlevel_frame() because sfifo_write() returns 0, so loop doesn't progress. It returns 0 because nobody doing sfifo_read() on the other side. That's why buffer is full and sfifo_write() can't write anymore. I suspect in SDL_RunAudio() it doesn't call callback (i.e. sfifo_read()) because mutex audio->mixer_lock wasn't unlocked somewhere but I didn't go further with my analysis because I had difficulty to build libsdl1.2. Here is my workaround: 1. Download source code of fuse-1.5.7 and libspectrum-1.4.4; 2. Build libspectrum (no need to install it into system); 3. Set environment variables: export LIBSPECTRUM_LIBS=../libspectrum-1.4.4/.libs/libspectrum.so export LIBSPECTRUM_CFLAGS="-I ../libspectrum-1.4.4/" 4. In fuse-1.5.7 folder open file configure and find this section on line 16886: if test "$UI" = sdl; then In this IF section replace: SOUND_LIBADD='sound/sdlsound.$(OBJEXT)' SOUND_LIBS='' sound_fifo=yes audio_driver="SDL" With: SOUND_LIBADD='sound/alsasound.$(OBJEXT)' SOUND_LIBS='-lasound' audio_driver="ALSA" 5. Build fuse using commands: ./configure --with-sdl make 6. Now you have binary ./fuse no need to install it into system, you can already use it; Side note, I think libsdl1.2 is way too outdated and it's not supported anymore. I think fuse should be migrated to libsdl2 although I'm not sure how hard it is. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1775089 Title: fuse (sdl) freezes after a period running, taking 100% of a CPU core, and requires 'kill'ing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fuse-emulator/+bug/1775089/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Sure. https://launchpad.net/~gunnarhj/+archive/ubuntu/sane-backends (it's in the bug description too) If you test from the PPA, it will need to be done later too (when it's in -proposed). Instead the printer prints a page with the text: ERROR: limitcheck OFFENDING COMMAND: image STACK: -mark- -mark- -mark- I do not get this printing problem when I print the page to a PDF and then print that PDF. I neither get this error when I print the same email from Firefox. After some googling, it guess the printing command that is used by Chrome tries to send all pages in one go to the printer while this printer does not have sufficient memory. Maybe this can be solved by using the same printing methodology in Chrome as in Firefox? Or maybe Chrome should first detect the printer memory size before it decides whether or not to send all pages in one go? [Bug 1838993] Re: Suspend immediately resumes on Ubuntu 18.04.2
update: i had some time and did a fresh installation of Xubuntu 18.04.3 on an USB SSD. Suspend works with Kernel 5.0, first i suspected the nvidia driver but it still works after installation of the nvidia drivers. So for me it is either a setting which i'm not aware of that is different or the main difference between these 2 installation: my Laptop runs zfs root, the USB installation is simple ext4. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1838993 Title: Suspend immediately resumes on Ubuntu 18.04.2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1838993/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1839707] [NEW] System does not shutdown since upgrade from 16.04LTS
Public bug reported: System hangs on shutdown at "Target Poweroff" since updating from 16.04LTS to 18.04LTS. I have since tried cosmic and now disco with the same results. Using ukuu I have diagnosed the issue to a change between linux 4.6.2 and 4.6.3 Any linux version 4.6.3=> will hang at shutdown. Both full installations and live images have the same result, I also have two devices with the same issue. [Bug 1835809] Re: AMD Ryzen 3000 series fails to boot
