[Bug 1862498] Re: Nuvision NES11 needs silead touchscreen quirks

2020-02-08 Thread James Buren
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected eoan

** Description changed:

I discovered that this model's touchscreen uses a Silead touchscreen
which requires device specific quirks to calibrate the touchscreen so
touch input will work correctly. I have prepared a patch to resolve the
issue and have already confirmed that it does indeed allow the
touchscreen to function correctly. I would appreciate it if this patch
could be included in a future kernel build.

Regarding the patch I have 2 versions of it because upstream changed the
location of the relevant quirks table in 4.19 and newer kernels. You
will want to use the 4.18- patch for older kernels and 4.19+ patch for
newer kernels. They should apply just fine but they may have fuzzing
because the tables have been modified between kernel releases.

  Thank you.

2020-02-08 Thread Hui Wang
I am working on it, please wait for a while, so far I found 2 issues:

1. the firmware needed for sof driver is not merged to linux-firmware yet.
2. the linux kernel can't work stable with the firmware if I copy the firmware
to the expected folder, need to backport some patches from 5.5-rc1

2020-02-08 Thread Mario Vukelic
Still occurs with linux-image-5.4.0-12-generic
Now that apparently it was decided that Ubuntu 20.04 will use linux 5.4, it
would be nice to fix it in 5.4 as well :)

[Bug 1813266] Re: udhcpd: not dying on SIGTERM

2020-02-08 Thread Fernando G. M.
Anyway to raise the priority on this?, almost two years since the bug
was fixed in busybox but ubuntu has not picked the patch. I had to
update the service stop script to do a pkill -9 udhcpd but that is not
ideal.

[Bug 1862488] [NEW] clementine crashed with SIGSEGV in gst_element_set_state()

2020-02-08 Thread Chris Guiver
*** This bug is a security vulnerability ***

Public security bug reported:

Clementine has been crashing many times a day in recent day(s).

I tried submitting `ubuntu-bug` each time, but no offers to login to
browser were offered (possibly because my stack was outdated as it had
started nagging me to).

It usually crashes after finishing a song/track & moving to the next
track.

There will/could be a number of entries in it's playlists that no longer
exist (one of my playlists has no files present, that directory was
erased; but I can 'play' that playlist and it just skips from one to the
other endlessly without crashing which is expected behavior)

[Bug 1862485] [NEW] Plymouth BGRT theme does not work due to missing files in initramfs

2020-02-08 Thread Shinjo Park
Public bug reported:

The package 'plymouth-theme-spinner' provides a BGRT theme, which shows
the UEFI vendor logo in the Plymouth boot splash. Because the theme file
/usr/share/plymouth/themes/bgrt/bgrt.plymouth contains
"ImageDir=/usr/share/plymouth/themes/spinner", it expects the animation
image files from the same path. However, the initramfs hook for Plymouth
at /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/plymouth is not aware of this, and
does not copy the said directory to the initramfs. As a result, it will
fall back to the text based Plymouth theme.

Current workaround is modifying the /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/plymouth
so the images from the spinner theme is included:

[Bug 1860697] Re: Sound doesn't work on Lenovo X1 Carbon 7th with 20.04

2020-02-08 Thread Jonathan Kamens
I added `options snd-hda-intel dmic_detect=0` to modprobe, and now
_output_, i.e., my speakers, work, but still no input device is being
detected, or at least the sound control panel isn't showing any
available input devices.

I see this in dmesg:

[ 11.075563] input: HDA Intel PCH Mic as
/devices/pci:00/:00:1f.3/sound/card0/input15

I don't know what else I should be looking for in the dmesg output.
Please help.

I hope you're not going to ship the next LTS release without working
audio for an extremely popular Linux laptop. :-/

In system settings, the font-adjustment interface should utilize more
horizontal space when it is available, so that font-names can be seen in
their entirety while viewing the various font settings.

[Bug 1862478] [NEW] gnome-system-monitor can't measure network transfer rate

2020-02-08 Thread Andre Brait
Public bug reported:

It started happening since I updated today and version 3.35.90 got
installed. It had been working normally before that.

The total number of bytes received seems to be accurate (I really
downloaded a bit over 1GB of data when the screenshot was taken), but
the transfer rate is not being measured accurately. The real transfer
rate when the screenshot was taken was around 10 MB/s while it shows
just a few bytes/second.

[Bug 1861936] Re: Raspberry Pi 3 network dies shortly after a burst of SD card IO and network load ((lan78xx): transmit queue 0 timed out)

2020-02-08 Thread mlx
(This is still with full setup, ie, jool and iptunnel, traffic using the
tunnel): The first time I tried I also managed to download gparted
without issues, but next time the issue appeared again.

No jool and no tunnel: wget 2x 900MB (ubuntu iso), no issue. scp the
same iso from local machine to RPi, also no issue.

No jool, 6in4 tunnel + ip6tables: Replicated on 3rd attempt with wget. I
think what may be contributing is that the machine is acting as an IPv6
gateway for my network, and there are some background bursts of load on
the tunnel (Youtube playing on the desktop). The wget download itself is
also going through the tunnel:

$ wget
http://ftp.antik.sk/ubuntu-releases/eoan/ubuntu-19.10-live-server-amd64.iso
--2020-02-08 21:51:00--
http://ftp.antik.sk/ubuntu-releases/eoan/ubuntu-19.10-live-server-amd64.iso
Resolving ftp.antik.sk (ftp.antik.sk)... 2a02:130:9900:30::12, 88.212.10.12
Connecting to ftp.antik.sk (ftp.antik.sk)|2a02:130:9900:30::12|:80...
connected.

Can you retry with a 6in4 tunnel? Im using the free offering from
tunnelbroker.net Or perhaps suggest a way to collect more logs.

I'll upload a set of relevant config files for:
- netplan
- netfilter-persistent
- sysctl

will try to continue anyway..." and then the installer failed.

I'm also seeing this. A workaround is to set
snd_hda_intel.dmic_detect=0. You can do this by creating a file named
/etc/modprobe.d/snd-hda-intel.conf with the following contents, then
reboot:

options snd-hda-intel dmic_detect=0
