needed.

[Bug 1871913] Re: super key does not work with secondary keyboard layout

2020-04-14 Thread Till Kamppeter
I have found out now that for me the problem occurs only if "Pointer
Location" on the "Keyboard & Mouse" page of the gnome-tweaks utility is
set. I have turned it off now and the left Ctrl key now works with all
keyboard layouts again.

If you happen to not find the mouse pointer sometimes, simply make it
bigger, with "Cursor Size" under "Universal Access" in the GNOME Control
Center.

[Bug 1871416] Re: alt-TAB hightlight colour almost indistinguishable from the background

2020-04-14 Thread Christian Sarrasin
FWIW, I raised #1872488 with the same issue.

IMHO - admittedly "opinion" - this severely impairs usability; it should
be classed as an accessibility issue.

My monitor is a fairly high-end Eizo FlexScan EV2785. I have looked at
the screenshot attached to #1872488 on that, my laptop's screen and my
iPad (all three, less than a year old) with the same conclusion.

There should at least be an _option_ to get better contrast; for example
by choosing the "light" or "standard" appearance in Settings.

[Bug 1872684] [NEW] Orange Dot (running application) wrong location

2020-04-14 Thread Steven Jay Cohen
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1872275 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1872275

Public bug reported:

gnome-shell/focal,now 3.36.1-4ubuntu1 amd64

13" laptop running at 1366 x 768 (16:9)

If fixing the location is an issue, might I suggest re-styling the name
of the application instead of adding the dot? I do understand that you
are trying to have consistency with the dash/dock indicator, but it
doesn't really "read" that way in this view anyway. Bolding the text of
a running app would actually be easier on your end and do the job
better.

3. Nothing happens
4. Switch language to English
5. Press Super key
6. Windows overview screen is opened

/usr/bin/xev reports the same keyscan for the button, if that matters.
Other Super- shortcuts (like Super-`) do work in any keyboard layout.

Hello ... Thank you
Your assessment seems accurate

There was a problem in writing the ISO to the flash disk. I used GParted and
Gnome Disk utility to correct the problem and wrote the ISO image to disk
again. This time the OS could be set up properly
Thank you again

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

This package failure looks like it was caused by bad ISO download,
corrupted install media, or device failure. eg. look in the logs and
you'll see messages like these :-

Apr 14 08:04:24 ubuntu kernel: [  224.141474] SQUASHFS error: zlib
decompression failed, data probably corrupt
Apr 14 08:04:24 ubuntu kernel: [  224.141478] SQUASHFS error:
squashfs_read_data failed to read block 0x8003028f

Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be
a useful bug report so I am closing it, as it appears to be a bad ISO or
faulty device (inc. bad write-to-device). If you believe I'm in error,
please leave a comment explaining why and change the status back to
'New'. I suggest you verify your ISO download, and use the 'check disc
for defects' option to validate your media before install to ensure a
good download & write.

@sil2100 no but I just ran on both Bionic and Eoan.

It shows me "Everything worked!" at the end of string.
but there is /var/tmp/sosreport*.tar*: Cannot open: No such file or directory.

so I changed /var/tmp/* to /tmp/ and ran again. it looks fine.

do you need any output file here?

[Bug 1872669] Re: lubuntu 20.04 brand appears after key & between plymouth & greeter

2020-04-14 Thread Chris Guiver
** Description changed:

This bug was briefly mentioned in lp 1861470, Daniel van Vugt suggested
raising a new bug so this is it. (sony ultrabook; vaio)

  Today's daily (2020-04-13) was installed as a QA-test, on
  sony vaio ultrabook (i5-9400u, 4gb, intel haswell-ULT)
  and on boot I see

  - encryption-key entry (text) screen (full disk encryption)
+ - (brief) black screen
  - vaio
  - plymouth (lubuntu dots)
  - vaio
  - sddm/greeter

On shutdown I also see the vaoi logo again before the plymouth (lubuntu
  dots) appears too.

To me the importance of this is extremely low; it doesn't impact
operation, just a less than ideal boot sequence.

  Expected behavior:

I'd like to not see the vaio (bios type) of screen during boot &
  shutdown as often..

(this has occurred on prior ISOs, and I booted it a few times confirming
results are as I describe, at least on this crappy vaio)

[Bug 1872671] [NEW] Policy files are missing

2020-04-14 Thread Albert Damen
Public bug reported:

python3-django-horizon:

After a fresh install of openstack dashboard on focal, apache2 error.log
contains hundreds of error message about missing policy files:

service 'network' in
/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/openstack_dashboard/conf/neutron_policy.json

The policy files are indeed missing from the package:

dpkg -L python3-django-horizon | grep json$
/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/horizon/xstatic/pkg/angular/data/errors.json
/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/horizon/xstatic/pkg/angular/data/version.json
/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/horizon-18.2.1.dev1.egg-info/pbr.json

Logging in with a normal user account (without admin role) still shows
the admin panel and buttons a normal user cannot use, like
identity/users "create user". Trying to use these either doesn't work or
throws errors like "Unable to retrieve xxx".

Copying the policy files from the source package solves the problem.

[Bug 1872669] Re: lubuntu 20.04 brand appears after key & between plymouth & greeter

We could probably agree to half of this - to not show the BIOS logo on
shutdown. But the other half of not wanting to see it on boot-up is not
something we are willing to change right now.

So "Won't Fix". Unless you want to change this bug to only cover the
shutdown case...

The difference is pretty clear to me on a fully calibrated monitor but I
guess it should also work for users who don't have that.

[Bug 1872589] Re: systemd-networkd is not honoring UseRoutes=false

2020-04-14 Thread Dan Streetman
upstream systemd has actually changed the behavior of UseRoutes; now, it
only disables actual defined routes provided by dhcp, and does not
control the gateway route. There is a new option, UseGateway, that
controls if the dhcp-provided gateway route should be used or not.

More details in bug 1867375 as well as references to the upstream
changes. As noted in my comment there, if UseGateway is backported to
Bionic, its default needs adjustment to default to the provided value of
UseRoutes; maybe that should be done for Focal as well.

[Bug 1871166] Please test proposed package

2020-04-14 Thread Łukasz Zemczak
Hello Dan, or anyone else affected,

Accepted pacemaker into xenial-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pacemaker/1.1.14-2ubuntu1.7 in a
few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-
xenial to verification-done-xenial. If it does not fix the bug for you,
please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-
failed-xenial. In either case, without details of your testing we will
not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

[Bug 1871166] Re: lrmd crashes

2020-04-14 Thread Łukasz Zemczak
This looks good, though this is quite a lot of code changes (and
refactoring) for a bug without a clear reproduction scenario. Would it
be possible to, along with the verification to be done by the reporting
person, perform some sanity runs to make sure the cancel/cleanup parts
of the code did not regress? Thanks!

[Bug 1872669] [NEW] lubuntu 20.04 brand appears after key & between plymouth & greeter

2020-04-14 Thread Chris Guiver
Public bug reported:

This bug was briefly mentioned in lp 1861470, Daniel van Vugt suggested
raising a new bug so this is it. (sony ultrabook; vaio)

Today's daily (2020-04-13) was installed as a QA-test, on
sony vaio ultrabook (i5-9400u, 4gb, intel haswell-ULT)
and on boot I see

- encryption-key entry (text) screen (full disk encryption)
- vaio
- plymouth (lubuntu dots)
- vaio
- sddm/greeter

On shutdown I also see the vaoi logo again before the plymouth (lubuntu
dots) appears too.

To me the importance of this is extremely low; it doesn't impact
operation, just a less than ideal boot sequence.

Expected behavior:

I'd like to not see the vaio (bios type) of screen during boot &
shutdown as often..

(this has occurred on prior ISOs, and I booted it a few times confirming
results are as I describe, at this on this crappy vaio)

[Bug 1872462] Re: rtl8723de wifi and bluetooth not working simultaneously

2020-04-14 Thread Kai-Heng Feng
The older kernel with rtw88 8723de support is 5.0 based linux-oem-osp1
kernel. Can you please install it from bionic-updates repo, and see if
both WiFi and Bluetooth work?
