[Bug 1926863] Re: gjs eats all available RAM and Freezes Computer
I'm not quite certain what that means in this context, is a reproducer a script meant to recreate the conditions of the bug? I have temporarily solved the issue by noting that it seemed to begin when the desktop was first drawn on screen, and running "sudo apt remove gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons-ng" and "sudo apt remove gnome- shell-extension-desktop-icons". [Bug 1927831] Re: Problem with Network Manager GUI on LXQt environment (Lubuntu 20.04 LTS and Lubuntu 21.04)
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better I tested for this on hirsute (21.04) - hp dc7700 (c2d-e6320, 5gb, nvidia quadro nvs 290) (a QA-test install with almost no changes; only those required to confirm valid QA install & working system) Also use current impish live (QA-test) - sony vaio svp112a1cw (i5-9400u, 4gb, intel haswell-ULT) - dell [optiplex] 755 (c2d-e6850, 5gb, amd/ati radeon rv516/x1300/x1550) (the sony has wifi only, dell has ethernet only) and could not re-create this. I also don't recall seeing it either on any of the boxes I QA-test with sorry (on focal thru hirsute cycles which is over hundreds of tests) I suspect the issue is specific to your hardware, thus apport-collect is required. I realize you said you cannot apport-collect currently, but I can't see how this can be worked on given the current lack of networking hardware detail provided. Please execute the following command only once, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal: apport-collect 1927831 When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu- bug' and the name of the package affected. [Bug 1927807] [NEW] "https" address causes zsync download to fail with error 'could not read control file from URL'
You have been subscribed to a public bug: How to reproduce: 1. Go to cdimage.ubuntu.com, choose any flavor and navigate to release or daily-live folder. 2. Copy (link address of) the .zsync file. 3. Open a terminal and try to perform zsync download with the copied zsync URL. Expected: Zsync download happens normally. Actual: Zsync download fails with error '...could not read control file from URL'. Below is an example error (for Ubuntu 21.10 20210507 daily build iso): ``` zsync https://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/daily-live/20210507/impish-desktop-amd64.iso.zsync failed on url https://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/daily-live/20210507/impish-desktop-amd64.iso.zsync could not read control file from URL https://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/daily-live/20210507/impish-desktop-amd64.iso.zsync ``` If we change the protocol to `http` instead of `https` the zsync function works. This is happening for all flavors. Suggested solution: Change/keep all zsync file's address to use `http` till (if) zsync software supports `https` protocol. ** Affects: zsync (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: impish iso-testing -- "https" address causes zsync download to fail with error 'could not read control file from URL' https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1927807 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1926938] Re: Recent mainline packages are built with Hirsuite 21.04, not Focal 20.04 LTS
I built a container for building mainline kernels. It build debs by default, but it can also build signed source packages, but unfortunately the sources are too big to be used with a PPA (they fill up the disk during build). The groovy version of dwarves can be installed on focal, or you can use my PPA here: https://launchpad.net/~tuxinvader/+archive/ubuntu/lts-mainline I was hoping to push my kernels to that PPA, but as I said - they're too big for launchpad. [Bug 1913350] Re: Intel Wireless-AC 7260 (rev bb) wifi card crashes randomly
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: Intel Wireless-AC 7260 (rev bb) wifi card crashes randomly. Sometimes after 1h of using my laptop, and sometimes after resuming from sleep. It can't work again until I reboot my laptop. The most relevant error message is: sty 25 14:42:13 leetbook kernel: iwlwifi :25:00.0: Failed to wake NIC for hcmd sty 25 14:42:13 leetbook kernel: iwlwifi :25:00.0: Error sending STATISTICS_CMD: enqueue_hcmd failed: -5 I'm using Ubuntu 20.04 that was upgraded from 18.04 and earlier 16.04. I've searched for similar bugs, but it looks like my error message and card model is a bit different. The workaround script from bug 1673344 works to fix the wifi without rebooting. The card works fine in Windows 10 so it's not a hardware issue. This is not a stock card from HP EliteBook 8470w, I've replaced it to gain Wifi 802.11ac transfer speeds. Actual result: When using HiDPI and either the Yaru-MATE-dark or Yaru-MATE-light theme, after reboot, the window controls are not sized with correct scaling. They appear tiny. Steps to reproduce: 1. Select Yaru theme. 2. Select HiDPI display resolution. 3. Select HiDPI scaling in MATE Tweak. 4. Restart computer. Workaround: 1. Open MATE Tweak. 2. Select 'Regular' scaling. (Selecting 'Auto' does not work to fix it.) 3. Select 'HiDPI' scaling. Result: Window controls are now scaled correctly. [Bug 1925010] Re: shim-signed 15.4 does not boot on EFI 1.10 systems
I tested on a MacBookPro9,2 (13-Inch, Mid-2012). 0. I clean installed from the 21.04 release image (http://releases.ubuntu.com/21.04/ubuntu-21.04-desktop-amd64.iso). FWIW I made my usual choices - Minimal installation - Download updates… - Install third-party software… - Erase disk and install Ubuntu 1. Restarting after the install, the computer showed a gray screen and never booted up as per the original issue. 2. I booted again from the install media, opened the live session, did the workaround steps from #14 and booted into the Ubuntu 21.04 installation. 3. I enabled -proposed and ran `sudo apt install shim-signed` to upgrade that package to version 1.47+15.4-0ubuntu2. 4. I tested booting several times – cold boots, restarts and holding the option key to load the Mac boot menu – and the computer always boots normally. 5. FWIW I also then ran `sudo apt full-upgrade` to install the other available updates and the computer had continued to boot normally. ** Tags removed: verification-needed verification-needed-hirsute ** Tags added: verification-done-hirsute -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1925010 Title: shim-signed 15.4 does not boot on EFI 1.10 systems To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shim/+bug/1925010/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1921593] Re: do-release-upgrade fails with no error
Thank you for the hints, Brian! There are some things I noticed which may have lead to the error: - I had packages installed from 20.04 already - packages from bionic were pinned to lower priority The upgrade succeeded after removing the pin. This issue can be closed I guess. ** Changed in: ubuntu-release-upgrader (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1921593 Title: do-release-upgrade fails with no error To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1921593/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
