[Bug 1926225] Re: Maxima fails to start with error message "The assertion realpath(s, o) on line 471 of main.c in function mbin failed: Invalid argument Aborted (core dumped)"
Hi, I'm a Maxima developer. I'd like to try to help figure out a solution here. Has the Maxima package (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/maxima/5.44.0-2) maintainer, ~camm-debian, been notified? I don't know if package maintainers are notified automatically about bugs reported against their packages. If not, then we should try to notify him. I don't know how to do that here, can someone do it or tell me how? @tmkrs4482: What options for ./configure did you supply? If you tried compiling with GCL, can I ask you to try another implementation? In particular I'll suggest SBCL. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1926225 Title: Maxima fails to start with error message "The assertion realpath(s,o) on line 471 of main.c in function mbin failed: Invalid argument Aborted (core dumped)" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/maxima/+bug/1926225/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1931785] Re: Laptop suspends when lid is closed even with Tweaks setting turning that off
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1931785/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. Public bug reported: Fresh up-to-date Xubuntu 21.04 install. In Settings: Disabled screen saver Disabled display power manager Expected result: Screen remains on forever Actual result: Screen is turned off after about 5 minutes(?) Googling very hard suggested "xset s off" as a solution in a thread dating back to 2012. Little bit more investigating showed that Xfce screen saver changes "xset s" params - they reflect the timeout specified in Settings. But when you turn off the Xfce's screen saver, it doesn't do 'xset s off' - it resets it back to defaults (on, 300 seconds). There is no way to send it. Also, there are no weird behaviors, everything just works. But the message is annoying. [Bug 1931767] Re: Ubuntu 20.04 freezes when I connect external monitor through USB-C
To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1931767/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1863434] Re: 20.04 grub menu not visible
@Alexey: In my case on my '12 cMP that "GRUB_TERMINAL=console" as already set that way, so that wasn't "the solution" to a problem that has been affecting likely "EFI" boot computers for a year or more?? In my case I use my OpenSUSE installs to re-install grub2 . . . and that restores grub function, but they have slightly different commands than on the ubuntu side of things. But, possibly if you scroll up to #86 comment, I did just check in Launchpad and see that indeed grub 2.06 is there as tar.gz file . . . and he suggested that as the way to "fix" the problem, which indeed appears to be "shim" related. Another way I tried was to do a fresh install of a distro, that will also re-install grub, but then, if still in grub 2.04 in another install . . . likely will wipe grub menu again, etc. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1863434 Title: 20.04 grub menu not visible To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1863434/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
