Re: [Bug 324137] Re: Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in DamageUnregister() when using VirtualBox

2009-04-02 Thread -JojoMan-
guest additions doesn't properly detect jaunty's xserver, the problem
is xserver for jaunty reports 1.6.0 instead of what virtualbox GA
looks for which is 1.6, these instructions tell you how to extract
the installer and manually modify the detection script, i'm sure
virtualbox will fix this in future release. i also agree that jaunty
should not crash without having GA installed.

instructions are here to stop the crashing and install GA properly:

[Bug 202174] Re: Please update to version 2.6

2008-04-05 Thread -JojoMan-
I am an average ubuntu desktop user, it is the first linux distro that
has worked for me. i had been trying on/off with different distro's
since 1999. I like ubuntu because it works and they release often. Now i
mention that you release often not because i like formatted/upgrading
all the time but because i like the latest and greatest features. I say
if you guys can put abiword 2.6 in you should.

[Bug 50524] Re: Moving file into home folder (launcher) created from places doesn't work

2007-04-16 Thread -JojoMan-
I'm sorry but i still believe this should be default behavior. Most
users don't know when they create .desktop files or launchers and just
expect things to Just Work. I know perhaps this is a lot of work but
it should be the default action when the .desktop file launches a
folder. Either this or when copying home from the places menu should
active the nautilus gconf string to show home folder on desktop. The
best option is to make even launchers of folders copyable to.

[Bug 50524] Re: Moving file into home folder (launcher) created from places doesn't work

2007-04-16 Thread -JojoMan-
Even if it is a launcer of a folder a user expects that if he drags a
file into it, the most logical thing to do is move those files to the
place the .desktop file points to (the folder).

Sometimes users don't care if it's a symlink or launhcer or .desktop
file / etc. They just want to be able to drag files into their home
folder (even if it is a launcher etc).

[Bug 84760] Regression: Sound volume hotkeys stopped working

2007-02-12 Thread -JojoMan-
The sound keys should modify the same volume/card set in sound applet.
Along with the same code.

I have a friend his sound applet volume control works (when configured).
But when he rasises lowers the volume, the bar shows (AND MOVES) but the
sound doesn't change. I believe this is because he has 2 sound cards and
his primary sound card is PCI (not build-in). I have noted this problem
with other users on forums, Link Below.

2006-12-23 Thread -JojoMan-
Dear Desi Guy,
yes, i installed edgy over dapper the other day and grub was reinstalled
(standard), but as soon as i booted after the ubuntu login screen it said
boot sector does not match backup. so either the backup should be deleted or
made to match the intalled grub bootloader when installing edgy boot loader,
please fix this in fiesty, so yes this problem still exists.

Hey desi people work for ubuntu yaay!!!

P.S. - Good work you guys on edgy, as far as binary driver by default (in
fiesty) bad choice, but it should be a choice upon installation. so both
users are happy, people who need nvidia/ati drivers and FOSS only users.

[Bug 47382] Re: Grub not replacing boot sector backup when installing

2006-12-23 Thread -JojoMan-
the system boots normally after this but just gives the error before
booting, it messes up the booting experience cuz you go from the boot
screen to this black screen with text then a couple of seconds later a
login screen (or bootup). this bug is really just an annoyance, but one
that needs to be taken care of for users not knowing what's going on and
might be concerned when this happens.

Re: [Bug 47378] Re: dapper rc1 Root filesystem in Nautilus showing twice

2006-12-14 Thread -JojoMan-
i'm using edgy now, i don't think it still exists, this occurs i think when
you use the uuid to mount the drive in fstab and it gets mounted again using
the location (/dev/hda1). basically it's double using two diff available
technique's, this occurs when not doing a clean format and changing the
locations(/dev/hda*) during the install (b/c of deleting or adding
partitions).

so to reproduce you do a nonclean (noformat) install of dapper (on breezy)
where you change the mounts (delete/add/change paritions) then i think the
system tries to mount the drives using uuid in fstab which is fine, but i
think the computer also tries to mount them using the normal
locations(/dev/hda*), i think this is an ubiquity problem. (installer
problem)

Why not provide an option in options leave the default as is (searches
in HOME, unless more people want current dir) and then provide an option
to search the current working directory to be searched. that way
everyone is happy, this bugs me all the time when i open up mounted

mounted partition and hit reload. i would love it if i went to my mp3

[Bug 50751] add dependancy to package in package to properly view urdu text in firefox

2006-06-23 Thread -JojoMan-
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: language-support-ur

Request:
===
Make language-support-ur package in dapper depend on the ttf-paktype package

More info:

this package is currently in universe. ttf-paktype package can safetly be
moved to dapper main repo since it's GPL,
here is the website:
also debian has it in main:

Purpose:
===
the reason for this dependancy is that you cannot see urdu fonts in firefox
correctly unless you have this installed, nor can you type in urdu font (in
firefox) unless you have these packages. if you could please include this
dependancy because users who want to do translations in launchpad (thru firefox

everything would just work, when installing urdu support.
