Why does Ubuntu uses FreeBSD variant of cal while Linux variant of cal
actually has the option -m for mondays? (AFAIU it should be in the
util-linux package but it's not).

2012-09-17 Thread Сергій Загорія
Felix, but that bug is against the Ubuntu version, this is not the upstream, so
it should be Fix Committed at least. It's still not released.
And please add a link to build from source.

[Bug 1050087] [NEW] Nautilus can't copy directories with large number of files over FTP

2012-09-12 Thread Сергій Загорія
Public bug reported:

I'm trying to use Nautilus to copy a directory with thousands of images (38950)
plus some smaller folders (one thousand files total, a Drupal installation)

If I select everything except the large directory it copies just ok. But If I
add the large one it stops after preparing the files and copying a couple of
them (2 to 10) and there are no network activity (I use etherape to monitor).

I'm getting a bunch of warnings like this:

WARNING: syntax errors in wakeonplan_lib/Builder.py: encoding
declaration in Unicode string (Builder.py, line 0)

But I'm not sure it's related to this particular bug.
Please contact me on IRC at #ubuntu-app-devel if you know how to fix it.

[Bug 1021675] [NEW] Quickly package replaces all Exec strings in .desktop file, removing Quicklist entries

2012-07-06 Thread Сергій Загорія
Public bug reported:

Upon packaging quickly replaces debian/rules file and it contains

sed -i
's|Exec=.*|Exec=/opt/extras.ubuntu.com/wakeonplan/bin/wakeonplan|'
debian/wakeonplan/usr/share/applications/extras-wakeonplan.desktop;

which replaces the whole Exec line including comman-line arguments.
AFAIU it should've been

s|Exec=[^ ]*|

The simplest workaround is

And the exact steps for reproducing are
1. Launch ccsm
2. Uncheck Animations and Fading Windows.
3. Press Alt+Tab.

[Bug 938390] [NEW] renice confuses nice value with priority

2012-02-21 Thread Сергій Загорія
Public bug reported:

In the manual page and it the option name renice refers to nice value as to
scheduling priority. While according to
$ info coreutils 'nice invocation'
   A niceness should not be confused with a scheduling priority, which
lets applications determine the order in which threads are scheduled to
run. Unlike a priority, a niceness is merely advice to the scheduler,
which the scheduler is free to ignore.

[Bug 892761] Re: sony vaio c series overheat

2012-01-19 Thread Сергій Загорія
I've just installed 11.10 on my friends' brand new Sony VAIO VPCSB2X9R and it
heats dramatically in seconds.
It has hybrid graphics but it stays at 61-69°C even after turning discrete card
off:

# echo OFF  /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch
# cat /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch
0:DIS: :Off::01:00.0
1:IGD:+:Pwr::00:02.0

Should I apport-collect only on the old system if it's not overheating?
