[Bug 788321] [NEW] Full screen in unity leaves a gap for the launcher
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: geeqie When I make Geeqie go full screen, it leaves a space for the launcher which is hidden, so there's a strip down the left of not-full-screened. This doesn't seem to affect anything else, so I don't think it's a unity-wide bug. Perhaps it's down to some peculiarity in the way geeqie full-screens. [Bug 784753] Re: second crop undoes the first
The behaviour I was expecting is exactly as if clicking 'OK' to the crop also triggered a file save. I expected that clicking the crop tool again would let me crop the now-cropped image yet further, rather than reattempt the last crop. I suppose the easiest way to replicate this behaviour is to just hit ctrl+s just after OKing the crop, and then try another crop. Thinking about it, giving another go at the first crop doesn't seem such a weird idea any more, but it's still completely not what I'd expect to happen on clicking the 'crop' tool. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/784753 Title: second crop undoes the first -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I've taken a screencast of the behaviour, which might help. [Bug 784753] [NEW] second crop undoes the first
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: shotwell When cropping an image, I tend to make a rough crop to close to what I want, then, able to zoom to closer to actual-size, make a more accurate second crop. In shotwell viewer, when I click 'crop' for the second time it assumes I want to undo the previous crop (despite the crop being in the undo list), and there doesn't appear to be a way to have it let me make successive crops without saving in-between. At the time of the second crop, the 'crop' button isn't a button for cropping - it's an 'undo crop' or, perhaps 'have another go at that crop' button. To reproduce: * Open an image in shotwell viewer * Click 'crop' from the bar at the bottom again, and crop the image but don't save the file * Click 'crop' on the bar at the bottom again ** Affects: shotwell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/784753 Title: second crop undoes the first -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 784761] Re: identify outputs doesn't identify outputs
I'd expected the monitor on DVI-0 to be labelled as the monitor on DVI-0, and the one on DVI-1 to be labelled as being on DVI-1 so I could tell the config thingy which one should be to the left of the other. I don't think I've ever felt particular need to identify which monitor or output is named as which except for those times when both are behaving in exactly the same way and I'd like them to not be - when one is configured in a position relative to another, I can identify which is which by moving the mouse around, for example. I seem to recall Gnome's monitor identification thing displaying a different label on each monitor - I've not got it to hand at the minute, but I'd have filed a bug there, too, had I noticed :) - is there some fundamental difference in how KDE and Gnome do multi displays? Either way, it might be what's expected from a technical standpoint (in that, from some part of X's point of view they *are* the same), but I suspect the average user (such as myself) would expect it to, well, identify the outputs. It just struck me as a spectacularly useless button when I clicked on it and each output appeared to claim to be both... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/784761 Title: identify outputs doesn't identify outputs -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

It's bad when you type it in. If you then switch focus to another window, and back to xterm, it's fine. But any subsequently-entered text is bad, again until the focus changes away and back again. Thank you for your help. I believe that I have the latest BIOS. No I don't, upgrading to A08 dated 9/17/10 right now. I am not sure how to change kernels, do I use the update manager? Hi all, I have the same identical problem as Trigger (and Matt, see: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/653238). It still doesn't boot 2.6.34 without the proposed patches. So still no BIOS fix... the above also have list of patches, but I'll have to recall how to apply patches and compile the kernel, last time I've done it was years ago RHEL 5 or 6, so spoiled now by Ubuntu found this yet in another thread: https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/647043/comments/14 which has a link to a patched test kernel, with the same list of patches: I had Lisa do a series of tests. [Bug 531027] Re: GLIB WARNING ** GLib - getpwuid_r(): failed due to unknown user id (0)
I get the same error message on boot. For a while I'd avoid it by using a particular kernel, (2.6.32-16 I *think*) but since updating today all installed kernels do it (31-20, 32-16, 32-21). I get the error message, hit any key to get to the 'Xubuntu' screen with 'keys:' under it, then ctrl-alt-f* to get to a tty and startx. [Bug 283658] Re: grip buffer overflow in intrepid
Hajime, are you sure it has to do with the genre? In my case the genre was Classical and it still crashed. in any case your patch seems to work in most situation but there is still a problem although I am not sure it is related. If the track name is very long, that is greater then 95 characters, the file name gets truncated and the ripped and encoded file names end up being the same causing the encoding to fail since it is overwriting the ripped file. -- grip buffer overflow in intrepid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/283658 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 274479] Re: ip not being updated and expiring
It does not seem to be a client limitation: the client can't update the host when the IP has not changed, because, apparently, the no-ip server does not allow it. That's at least how I read it. The no-ip free service is limited this way. Silly? maybe. Bug? hardly. It looks and smells deliberate. I suggest you take this up with no-ip support. [Bug 239930] Re: scanner port detection
Thanks for this thread, Peter B. I had precisely the same issue with my Epson Perfection 3490 -- but with a Twist. I recently had a short power outage (actually just a blown circuit breaker). Because the computer did not power down properly, the scanner was not sent a power-down signal, and I began getting the snapscan libusb invalid argument error. Logging out and in, or rebooting Linux, did not solve them problam. It's a dual-boot machine, and booting into XP and back into Linux solved the problem.
