[Bug 1879234] Re: Clicking Activities does nothing - screen appears to freeze

2020-06-16 Thread Abir
Okk but I've been going through this problem since I left Windows and came to
Ubuntu Linux. My computer is not running smoothly. There are all kinds of
problems. I can't think of anything to do. I'm very worried that you are not
solving the problem properly.
#10 & #11 please I request you to watch the video and fix this problem because
I have been going through this problem for a long time and I can't find any
solution to this problem. No one can fix all the problems of system
software. When I scroll an application after opening the computer, sometimes it
is not working, then it is working in zoom in zoom out, for this I am not able
to do any work well, sometimes the system automatically opens one new tab after
another.

[Bug 1883718] Re: zoom in/out problem

2020-06-16 Thread Abir
I've been going through this problem since I left Windows and came to Ubuntu
Linux. My computer is not running smoothly. There are all kinds of problems. I
can't think of anything to do. I'm very worried that you are not solving the
problem properly.
#2 & #3 please I request you to watch the video and fix this problem because I
have been going through this problem for a long time and I can't find any
solution to this problem. No one can fix all the problems of system
software. When I scroll an application after opening the computer, sometimes it
is not working, then it is working in zoom in zoom out, for this I am not able
to do any work well, sometimes the system automatically opens one new tab after
another.

[Bug 805731] Re: aa doesn't load profiles on startup

2011-07-10 Thread Abir Valg
Thank you for helping me solve this. update-rc.d did the job.
I remembered that some long time ago I had decided to trim down my system and
to disable unnecessary service, so I had fired up sysv-rc-conf and apparently
had unchecked apparmor, hence the disappeared script in rcS.d.
Cheers.

[Bug 805731] Re: aa doesn't load profiles on startup

2011-07-07 Thread Abir Valg
@ John Johansen
I haven't made any modifications as far as aa is concerned. I have had this
Ubuntu installation since Nov 2010 and never looked into aa.
I'm attaching apparmor tarball - contents of /etc/apparmor and dmesg.txt

@Steve Beattie
I checked the files that Ubuntu's apparmor package provides and there aren't
any rc*d scripts, only an init.d one.
In any case rcd tarball containc all rc*d contents and init.d to boot.

@both. I am happy you responded so promptly.
@both. It seems I can only attach one file per comment.

[Bug 805731] [NEW] aa doesn't load profiles on startup

2011-07-04 Thread Abir Valg
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 10.10
After installing apparmor-profiles package and adding my own two profiles for
skype and opera, my /etc/apparmord/ looks like this:abstractions
bin.ping
cache
disable
force-complain
home.ww.apps.browsers.opera-11.00-1156.i386.linux.opera
home.ww.apps.skype_static-2.2.0.35.skype
local
program-chunks
sbin.dhclient3
sbin.klogd
sbin.syslogd
sbin.syslog-ng
tunables
usr.bin.chromium-browser
usr.bin.evince
usr.bin.firefox
usr.lib.dovecot.deliver
usr.lib.dovecot.dovecot-auth
usr.lib.dovecot.imap
usr.lib.dovecot.imap-login
usr.lib.dovecot.managesieve-login
usr.lib.dovecot.pop3
usr.lib.dovecot.pop3-login
usr.sbin.avahi-daemon
usr.sbin.cupsd
usr.sbin.dnsmasq
usr.sbin.dovecot
usr.sbin.identd
usr.sbin.mdnsd
usr.sbin.nmbd
usr.sbin.nscd
usr.sbin.smbd
usr.sbin.tcpdump
usr.sbin.traceroute

Yet upon startup, only 3 profiles get loaded, aa-status reports upon bootup:
3 profiles are loaded.
3 profiles are in enforce mode.
   /sbin/dhclient3
   /usr/lib/NetworkManager/nm-dhcp-client.action
   /usr/lib/connman/scripts/dhclient-script
0 profiles are in complain mode.
0 processes have profiles defined.
0 processes are in enforce mode :
0 processes are in complain mode.
0 processes are unconfined but have a profile defined.

And so I have to issue /etc/init.d/apparmor reload each time I boot
which is patently not the proper way to load profiles at startup. Upon
issuing this command, aa-status looks just like I expect:

38 profiles are loaded.
38 profiles are in enforce mode.
   /bin/ping
   /home/ww/apps/browsers/opera-11.00-1156.i386.linux/opera
   /home/ww/apps/skype_static-2.2.0.35/skype
   /sbin/dhclient3
   /sbin/klogd
   /sbin/syslog-ng
   /sbin/syslogd
   /usr/bin/evince
   /usr/bin/evince-previewer
   /usr/bin/evince-thumbnailer
   /usr/lib/NetworkManager/nm-dhcp-client.action
   /usr/lib/chromium-browser/chromium-browser
   /usr/lib/chromium-browser/chromium-browser//browser_java

   /usr/lib/cups/backend/cups-pdf
   /usr/lib/dovecot/deliver
   /usr/lib/dovecot/dovecot-auth
   /usr/lib/dovecot/imap
   /usr/lib/dovecot/imap-login
   /usr/lib/dovecot/managesieve-login
   /usr/lib/dovecot/pop3
   /usr/lib/dovecot/pop3-login
   /usr/lib/firefox-3.6.10/firefox-*bin
   /usr/lib/firefox-3.6.10/firefox-*bin//browser_java
   /usr/lib/firefox-3.6.10/firefox-*bin//browser_openjdk
   /usr/sbin/avahi-daemon
   /usr/sbin/cupsd
   /usr/sbin/dnsmasq
   /usr/sbin/dovecot
   /usr/sbin/identd
   /usr/sbin/mdnsd
   /usr/sbin/nmbd
   /usr/sbin/nscd
   /usr/sbin/smbd
   /usr/sbin/tcpdump
   /usr/sbin/traceroute
0 profiles are in complain mode.
0 processes have profiles defined.
0 processes are in enforce mode :
0 processes are in complain mode.
0 processes are unconfined but have a profile defined.

So, why aren't the profiles loaded automatically on startup?

I tracked down the offending line, when I comment it out, problem goes away.
But the line is seemingly irrelevant nothing more than a strcat() function.
I'm attaching a tarball which contains the executable and source code with

To compile you will need libnetfilter_queue and libncurses
To reproduce the bug:
Run lpfw 2.0 as root (it uses netfilter_queue facility, hence root)
Run cli2.0 as root and press s

[Bug 69576] Wrong alignment and bidi problems in Hebrew About Ubuntu

2006-10-31 Thread Yaniv Abir
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs

The text in the Hebrew about Ubuntu incorporated into the 6.10 desktop
is aligned to the left, while is should be aligned to the right, and has
BiDi problems - i.e. mixed Hebrew-English text gets messed up. This is
probably and encoding problem.

[Bug 69576] Re: Wrong alignment and bidi problems in Hebrew system help

2006-10-31 Thread Yaniv Abir
Unfortunately non of Gnome help is translated into Hebrew (or Arabic,
another rtl languages, in which the same problem exists, as far as I can
tell), so I can't answer that. All I can say is that the GNOME help
(which appears in English) is aligned to the left, although the Hebrew
locale is set (but, considering that non of GNOME help is translated
into Hebrew, aligning the English to the left is a good idea).

[Bug 61823] Re: Hebrew translation appear wrong way round in terminal

2006-10-13 Thread Yaniv Abir
Steps to reproduce:
1. Install Hebrew language pack.
2. Switch to a Hebrew GNOME session.
3. Run apt-get install foo in Terminal/xterm/console*

*You may need to set your default system language to Hebrew (via
system-administration-language support) for the problem to appear in the
console.

[Bug 35178] Re: The auto mount does not support Hebrew

2006-10-13 Thread Yaniv Abir
Thanks for the bug report.

I'm closing this bug because it has been fixed in Edgy. It is
automatically set to nls=utf8,umask=007, and I haven't experienced any
problems with it. If you still think this is problematic - please
respond and say so.

It won't be fixed in Dapper since this bug doesn't fit backports
requirements. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBackports for
more information.

I reported this to the OO.o bugzilla

sure the problem is in OO.o - it happens even without openoffice.org-

[Bug 44367] Re: Interface in right-to-left mode has problems

2006-10-04 Thread Yaniv Abir
Forwarded from duplicate #51495:

When using OpenOffice.org with a Hebrew language-pack GNOME (doesn't
have to be a Hebrew OO.o, the bug happens even when you leave openoffice
on the English language pack, but use the Hebrew one for the rest of
Ubuntu) the drop-down menus in the tool bars (e.g. font, font size,
styles) are messed up - the arrow button graphic does not match the text
box graphics (button's curved side is facing the text box's curved side,
instead of straight side facing straight side) and the text in the text
box's isn't visible at all.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install Hebrew language pack.
2. Open an OpenOffice.org program.
