Just happened to me right after using Google Earth (which I installed via make-googleearth-package, installing first ALL required dependencies - quite a lot). I quitted GEarth, and Unity 2D crashed for a few seconds. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/945804 Title: gdb crashed with ImportError in /usr/lib/debug/usr/lib/x86_64-linux- gnu/libstdc++.so.6.0.16-gdb.py: No module named libstdcxx.v6.printers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gcc-4.6/+bug/945804/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 887625] Re: Tildes: pressing "~" then "a" results in "~a" and not "ã", as it should
Thank you for your answer. I'm afraid, however, that the "bug" is still there. Not only it didn't work, but it did mess up my keyboard. With the compose key, the tilde just disappears from where it should be (couldn't guess where it moved to, pressed every key...), and so do other keys (like the brackets {}, for instance). I would swear I was able to type those characters without problems long ago... I believe this is a regression bug :( This should be simple... It's just that ~ (Altgr+4 or, in the Spanish layout, also Altgr+ñ) is not considered a dead key input... it should! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/887625 Title: Tildes: pressing "~" then "a" results in "~a" and not "ã", as it should To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/887625/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 887625] [NEW] Tildes: pressing "~" then "a" results in "~a" and not "ã", as it should
Public bug reported: The summary says it all... I have a problem with that key. I can get other combinations properly, like: á, à, ä, â... but pressing the combination "Alt gr + 4", writes the tilde "~" all of a sudden. It should wait for another input ("a", for example), and then prompt the result: "ã". Luckily my spanish keyboard has the character ñÑ on it... I guess our portuguese neighbours have the correspondant keys as well, else I don't understand how this error hasn't been reported yet! The combination doesn't work as expected everywhere: nautilus, firefox, openoffice, unity, etc... ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/887625 Title: Tildes: pressing "~" then "a" results in "~a" and not "ã", as it should To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/887625/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 746761] Re: can't type characters with accent
I happen to have had the same problem in Skype for months - it's still there, and it's a bit annoying. It was a Ibus related issue, but it doesn't look like it's the case this time. Furthermore, I have two computers with 11.04 beta, and in my laptop I didn't have this issue while searching using the Unity panel a week ago (I don't have it with me now, sorry, I can't check), while I did have the problem with Skype too. I use Ubuntu 11.04 with the Spanish language and Spanish keyboard distribution. I can properly write the letter "Ñ" (we have a key for that one), but can't write properly á, é, í, ó, ú and other letters that are the result of pressing two keys in a row (right now, typing this message, I was able to write them, using Chrome navigator. Firefox and Libreoffice aren't affected either). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/746761 Title: can't type characters with accent -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 696687] Re: Clock 2.30.2 Shows its pop up out of screen
This has been affecting me for a long time. Finally, I see I'm not alone! I'm using the latest Ubuntu, and it has been like this for weeks. [Bug 616023] Re: nVidia card : X won't start since 1.9 update, no screens found
I updated to Maverick yesterday. After that, Ubuntu wouldn't initialize X because of this error. I could fix it doing this: 1) FailsafeX in the newest kernel: restore Xorg.conf from scratch, then restart X. With this, I was able to start Ubuntu normally, but the 3d effects were disabled because Ubuntu wasn't able to load the "nvidia" module. No hardware acceleration, and the screen wasn't detected either. 2) Added a repository with latest nvidia-current firmware. Then updated and upgraded. This repository is: http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates/ubuntu maverick main 3) Made "sudo nvidia-xconfig". That filled the xorg.conf from the blank file I had before 4) Added the ignoreABI thing to the xorg.conf file. With this, now I'm using Ubuntu as usual, with hardware acceleration, screen detected, etc... -- nVidia card : X won't start since 1.9 update, no screens found https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/616023 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Tried this IBUS Translit thing today, for my Russian studies, and the bug is still there. As amdlin says, this should be easy to solve.
