I confirm that the problem persists with kernel 5.2.9 on HP Spectre
x360.

I am using kernel 5.1.9, which has no problem.

In addition, kernel 5.1.9 with linux-firmware-20190815.07b925b-1 has a
problem with iwlwifi, so I had also to downgrade it to linux-
firmware-20190618.acb56f2-1

Hi, I have a HP Spectre x360 13t-ap000, with the exact same problem. I
also have NVMe and it drains lots of power under s2idle, and the only
option I have in /sys/power/mem_sleep is that one.

I am running Arch Linux.

However, my touchscreen is working without any problem, as well as the
HP Active Pen that this laptop brings.

No, it is an internal card reader. Now it is working properly, I am not
sure what had changed (maybe an update). It is a bit odd since by times
all the computer works too slow, including the internet connection and
the I/O from discs/card reader/usb.

Anyway, I will install the LTS version of Ubuntu soon, which used to
work perfectly, so if there is any way I can collaborate with this bug
report until I do that fresh install, please let me know.

I am using a Dell Inspiron 1525 and I cannot copy large amounts of files
from my USB card since it does it at a very slow rate (around 300kb/s).
I tested the SD card in another computer and it works properly. It also
works without problems in Windows on this machine, so the problem must
be here.

Please, let me know what info would be helpful, since I have no idea
where to start.

As an aside information: the wireless connection is also working too
slow in this machine, I don't know whether it could be a related
problem.

Starting Kile from the terminal, I get the following warnings:

KGlobal::locale::Warning your global KLocale is being recreated with a valid 
main component instead of a fake component, this usually means you tried to 
call i18n related functions before your main component was created. You should 
not do that since it most likely will not work 
kile(20641)/kdecore (KLibrary) findLibraryInternal: plugins should not have a 
'lib' prefix: libkonsolepart.so

The first one, as I understand, is a missuse of KGlobal in kile (cf. 
http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=64t=93738)
The second one, I have no idea.

I don't see any problem in kile, except that it is in English, when my
LANG is set to fr_FR.utf8 (and kde-l10n-fr is installed)

I have the same problem: I have two printers configured (one HP and one
Epson), and time to time I have to stop cups (with sudo stop cups)
because it is consuming 100% of one of the cores. If I restart it again
immediately, it works fine maybe for one day or so, and then again the
same behaviour.

I never leave jobs stopped at the queue, so I don't know what triggers
the problem.

Please, tell me if there is any test I can run to try to detect the
problem.

Done. WIth this kernel it works much better. The only strange behaviour
is that sometimes after I sleep (to ram) the laptop, when it wakes-up I
have to switch down the wireless card and then switch up again (not
always, just time to time), because in other way I do not see some of
the networks (that happened in two different places with different
networks).

[Bug 622321] [NEW] nm-applet shows the wifi as disconnected even when it is connected

Public bug reported:

nm-applet shows the wifi as disconnected even when it is connected. It
shows the pop up message saying now it is connected and not it is
disconnected but the icon is always with a red exclamation mark. Also,
clicking on it, it shows all the networks, including the one I am
connected to, and the message disconnected, but no one as connected.

This is a fresh install.

I am so sorry, but I cannot try any more, because from the time when I
reported this bug to now, I have changed from distro and laptop
several times. Right now I have Debian/PPC in a PowerBook G4, with
amarok 2.1.1, and I have not problem with it.

I found it! It is at Tool button in each note, not in the Tool
menu at the main window! So, the bug is not it the addin but its help

I just tried in that way (start sticky notes first and then tomboy)
but it didn't work either, I don't have the import option in my tools
menu.
Just in case, I have my system in Spanish (so, there is a
Herramientas menu instead of Tools). I don't know if that can be
the problem or not.

Hi, I added the BackingStore option again, I used my KDE4 desktop for a
while and then I get a crash. Here is attached the Xorg.0.log after the
crash.

The solution to avoid this kind of random crashes is to take off the
BackingStore option (maybe when package nvidia is installed it should be
checked that that option is not in xorg.conf).

Please, let me know if I can help with anything else.

problem too. The touchpad in my laptop worked after I loaded the
usbmouse module into the kernel.

the multimedia keys VolumeUp and VolumeDown, and the volume change, but the OSD 
shows always 100%, it doesn't change at all.

I have two contacts with nick name Cristian, and both has MSN and
Jabber, so I have each one in a metacontact, but the problem is that,
each time I login into Kopete, they are merged in one single metacontact
if they have the same nickname. I had to change the name of the
metacontact manually to avoid that behavior.

Sorry, I am not sure if metacontact is the correct word, I have kopete
translated to Spanish and it says metacontacto.

I can't use any shortcut to launch applications. I defined several
shorcuts to applications from the menu editor, but it doesn't work. I
tried using ctrl, alt, win and even with multimedia keys (which are
recognized correctly), and nothing happens when I try to use it.

I am using Kubuntu 8.10 with KDE 4.1.2 from the official repository.

If I select several tags, and the tag list becomes bigger than the
screen, the window doesn't fit the screen and it is not possible to
resize it. I think there should appear a scroll bar.

It is Adept 3.0B4 in an up-to-date Kubuntu Intrepid Ibex amd64.

Sorry, I don't have OpenOffice2 any more to check this... I tried with
OpenOffice3 but on it, when I write tHERE, it is changed to THERE
instead of change my caps lock... So, I can test it.

I tested these commands and I get my caps look changed (setleds +caps
set caps lock on, with the light on and setleds -caps set caps lock
off, with the light off)

Please, if someone can try it, with the bug, could be helpful.

I had the following options in my xorg.conf:

After upgrade to kubuntu Intrepid amd64 (so, to nvidia-glx-177), I get a
very unstable X. It hangs up almost every 2 minutes. I commented the
options above and now everything is working ok.

I think the installer should comment automatically these kind of options
at xorg.conf.

keyboard and the other one with a generic keyboard. All of them with

I compiled alsa 1.0.16 (alsa-driver,  alsa-firmware,  alsa-lib and alsa-
utils) downloaded from the official page. I hadn't have any special
consideration to do it, only select the module to compile (hda-intel).

I did this on February, so I don't remember clearly where I found the
instructions to do that, but you should follow the typical steps to
compile alsa (search the alsa documentation in the official website or
ask Google).

Right now I am using Gentoo Linux, and here I do not have any problem (I
suppose that Gentoo-Kernel is patched to work. Also, it is version
2.6.25 and Ubuntu is 2.6.24).

I am sorry I can't help a bit more.

Oh, sorry, I forgot to mention that I had enabled the desktop effects (without 
effects, kwin works normally).
With desktop effects, it happens directly after kde4 start-up.

 if you can get a little help here.

I added all the options they recommend, but this issue still there,
kwin continues consuming a lot of CPU. I will try using nv driver.

I have a problem in kubuntu amd64 updated until today (and without 
openoffice.org-gnome nor openoffice.org-gtk installed).
This issue appears either as normal user or as root.
I have a nvidia graphic card with privative drivers.
I'm not sure if the bug I reported is a duplicate of this one, as somebody 
marked it. 
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/243428). My 
specific problem is just when I close openoffice. I can use it without any 
problem until I close it, then it crashes and I receive an error message (but 
after I saved my work and closed the application).

[Bug 243428] [NEW] OpenOffice.org crashes when closes

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Each time I close OpenOffice.org, it crashes and outputs this message at
the console:

KCrash: Application 'soffice.bin' crashing...
XIO:  fatal IO error 9 (Invalid file descriptor) on X server :0.0
  after 115 requests (115 known processed) with 0 events remaining.

(Actualy, instead of Invalid file descriptor it says Descriptor de
archivo inválido, because it is in Spanish).

Also, I receive a message from DrKonqi with command: drkonqi -display
:0.0 --appname soffice.bin --signal 11 --pid pidnumber (However, it is
useless, because there are not debugging simbols (and there isn't either
a package openoffice.org-dbg))

Note that it works normally and without any problem, the issue come just
when I close the whole application (and it is no so bad, because
actually I had finished my work), however, it is still a bug.

I'm using Kubuntu Hardy 64bits updated until today.
