[Bug 84174] last linux-image-generic package is broken

2007-02-09 Thread AlejandroRiviera
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-generic

Just do:

sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade

and you get:

Los siguientes paquetes se han retenido:
  linux-image-generic
0 actualizados, 0 se instalarán, 0 para eliminar y 1 no actualizados.

(Following packages have been retained)

If you try to force it:

sudo apt-get install linux-image-generic

Los siguientes paquetes tienen dependencias incumplidas:
linux-image-generic: Depende: linux-image-2.6.17-11-generic pero no es
instalable
E: Paquetes rotos

(Following packages have unmet dependencies)
(E: broken packages)

 $ apt-cache search linux-image-2.6.17
linux-image-2.6.17-10-386 - Linux kernel image for version 2.6.17 on i386
linux-image-2.6.17-10-generic - Linux kernel image for version 2.6.17 on
x86/x86_64
linux-image-2.6.17-10-server - Linux kernel image for version 2.6.17 on

x86/x86_64
linux-image-2.6.17-50-server-bigiron - Linux kernel image for version 2.6.17 on
BigIron Server Equipment

As you can see there is no linux-image-2.6.17-11-generic only a linux-
image-2.6.17-50-generic

What's going on? I've seen a lot of people with the same problem in IRC
even in dapper

Thanks for your time.

2007-01-10 Thread AlejandroRiviera
Public bug reported:

This bug report may be useless because i use many
third party software but anyway

Since the last xserver upgrade due to the integer overflow
bug my xserver restarts and i end up in the login screen every
time i start an opengl app. I realized it with wine and happens
with glxgears too.

I use:
 - compiled 2.6.19 vanilla kernel
 - wine packages from http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/
 - nvidia driver from nvidia.com NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9742-pkg1.run

21:01:24: Warning: Mailcap file /etc/mailcap, line 112: incomplete entry

(amaya:17085): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_colormap: assertion

The program 'amaya' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.
  (Details: serial 5372 error_code 8 request_code 144 minor_code 5)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

[Bug 70490] Re: Some SystemAdministration menu entries no longer works

2006-11-06 Thread AlejandroRiviera
I'm allways logged as the user that instaled the system back in the
day...

i have an entry like:

 my_user ALL=(ALL) ALL

in sudoers

The weird thing is that i do not have an admin group!!

$ sudo adduser my_user admin

adduser: El grupo `admin' no existe.

(The group 'admin' does not exist.)

I do have an adm group and my user belongs to it

I have not deleted the admin group myself. So i do not know what's going
wrong or what went wrong in the upgrade(s)

Changing time in dapper worked aut of the box as did the other affected entries
in SystemAdmin menu.
After upgrade this things stopped working I consider this a bug

How could my system end up without an admin group??

Any help is apreciated.

Thanks

my /etc/sudoers file is now:

# %admin ALL=(ALL) ALL
%admin ALL=(ALL) ALL
---
I have

$ sudo addgroup admin
Añadiendo el grupo «admin» (1004)...
Hecho.
$ sudo adduser alex admin
Añadiendo el usuario `myuser' al grupo `admin'...
Hecho.

Still no luck :(

(i asume that a reboot is no needed)

[Bug 70490] Some SystemAdministration menu entries no longer works

2006-11-05 Thread AlejandroRiviera
Public bug reported:

When i try to adjust system time i go to SystemaAdminDate and Time and
instead of asking my password an error dialog pops up says i do not have
enough permisions. The same ocurs right cliking an the clock in the
panel.

Other entries that fail are Net and a few others.

If i edit the menu and add gksu the entry works again but right clicking
in the clock still fails.

So entries with gksu work but the ones without it not.

I upgraded my system all the way to edgy from warty.

I know that an upgraded from dapper 64bits edgy install works without
gksu

What's going wrong?
