[Bug 836480] [NEW] CPU fan runs very very fast ubuntu 11.10 dell xpsl702x
Public bug reported: 1. Till login screen fan speed is ok 2. Soon after login fan starts running like crazy. The air coming out becomes hot after sometime. 3. Fan works quite normally in windows 7 4. I booted from ubuntu 11.04 live cd (and did some work) fan was fine 5. I booted and worked using Open Suse 11.04 , fan was fine. I initially had 11.04 but don't remember if fan was ok with it. This is a new laptop. 1 day after I installed 11.04 I upgraded to 11.10. I will try to downgrade (if possible, someone on irc told me cant downgrade) and report. This is critical as I may end up not using ubuntu. I am sure if its a bug it will affect hardware finally? [Bug 830388] [NEW] Apply button remains disabled after changes in empathy chat accounts window if account is disabled
Public bug reported: What ever configuration changes I make in a disabled account can not be saved (apply button is not enabled). Here are the steps to reproduce. - Bring up the empathy chat accounts window - Click on existing configured account that is disabled (from left hand side pane) - In the right hand side window, make some changes like remove the remembered password or change the user name Expected result - Apply button should be enabled to save the configuration changes (these should be applied when next time I try to login to the chat server) Actual result: - Notice that the Apply and Cancel buttons remain disabled even after doing the changes Note that I do not want to connect to an account first and then remove the remembered password and then disconnect it again. [Bug 816256] [NEW] Xorg freeze after installing 11.04 x64 on Toshiba Satellite A305
Public bug reported: I used to have an older version of Ubuntu installed (I think 9.04) and wanted to check 11.04. I installed using the liveCD while erasing the old installation. At first the liveCD could not finish boot, ending up with a black screen. Then I started passing the following boot parameters, which allowed it to open the desktop environment: acpi=off noapic nolapic nodmraid nomodtest I used it to install 11.04 on my hard drive. Since then, I cannot boot into the ubuntu partition. Neither the normal, nor the rescue option finish boot successfully. I booted into the liveCD again, chrooted to my hard drive, and ran apt- get update && apt-get upgrade, but it didn't help. When the computer is stuck during boot, it gives me a black screen, and responds to nothing. No option to get to console, and Caps Lock light isn't responding. I ran the `ubuntu-bug` utility for sending this bug report on the liveCD, as I currently can't start from the hard drive partition, so I guess it's xorg logs won't show why it couldn't load on the other partition.
