[Bug 1779721] Re: systemd-networkd does not configure DHCPv4
This bug in systemd-networkd is affecting our environment also. We have an RFC-compliant DHCP server that does not reply with Option 54 "Server Identifier". We have made the point to other vendors that this is indeed compliant with the RFC because there is no routable address to the DHCP server so it is not possible to send this option and also stay in line with the RFC. For context, the reason there is no routable address as this server works in a cloud environment where it impersonates a server in multiple VLANs that belong to customers. It cannot use addresses in those subnets. `To accommodate potentially incomplete network connectivity, a server MUST choose an address as a 'server identifier' that, to the best of the server's knowledge, is reachable from the client.` This is the reason why its not possible to send the option in the DHCPOFFER as there is no such address. There is good support for this implementation from other software such as the ISC dhclient and from Windows. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1779721 Title: systemd-networkd does not configure DHCPv4 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/netplan.io/+bug/1779721/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Also, as of Friday afternoon (Sydney, Australia time), I won't have access to the machines and backups so I won't be able to provide any more debugging info - if there's anything more that I can provide to help out it'd be good to know before then. [Bug 1169044] Re: can't install/upgrade postfix non interactively through apt
I tested this again on a clone of one of our other machines which hadn't had it's packaged upgraded. I ran sudo apt-get update, then sudo apt-get upgrade. The following packages were going to be upgraded: accountsservice apache2-utils apt apt-transport-https apt-utils bash bind9-host cloud-init curl dmsetup dnsutils gir1.2-gudev-1.0 grub-legacy-ec2 icedtea-6-jre-cacao icedtea-6-jre-jamvm iptables language-selector-common libaccountsservice0 libapt-inst1.4 libapt-pkg4.12 libbind9-80 libcurl3 libcurl3-gnutls libcurl4-openssl-dev libdbus-glib-1-2 libdevmapper1.02.1 libdns81 libdrm-intel1 libdrm-nouveau1a libdrm-radeon1 libdrm2 libgnutls-dev libgnutls-openssl27 libgnutls26 libgnutlsxx27 libgudev-1.0-0 libisc83 libisccc80 libisccfg82 liblwres80 libmysqlclient-dev libmysqlclient18 libnspr4 libnss3 libnss3-1d libpciaccess0 libssl-dev libssl-doc libssl1.0.0 libudev0 libvirt-dev libvirt0 libxml2 linux-libc-dev openjdk-6-jre-headless openjdk-6-jre-lib openssl percona-server-client-5.5 percona-server-common-5.5 percona-server-server-5.5 percona-xtrabackup perl perl-base perl-modules postfix rsyslog sudo udev I was presented with a changelog in less, and the upgrades proceeded when i'd closed that. Other packages upgraded without incident, but when postfix was being upgraded I was presented with a pink screen titled 'Postfix Configuration', even though postfix has already been configured. The options included 'No configuration', 'Internet site', 'Internet with smarthost', 'Satellite system' and 'Local only'. As before, the upgrade would not proceed without user input. ** Changed in: postfix (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1169044 Title: can't install/upgrade postfix non interactively through apt To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/postfix/+bug/1169044/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1169044] [NEW] can't install/upgrade postfix non interactively through apt
Public bug reported: We install and upgrade our packages via scripts. We had originally install postfix (and possibly) successfully using these scripts in the past without interactive input. When upgrading postfix to 2.9.6-1~12.04.1, we're unable to install it without it hanging during the dpkg --configure step and waiting for interactive input. [Bug 971750] Re: [Toshiba L735-101] screen brightness cannot be set using hotkeys
Continuing my last comment, I tried the kernel parameters with the lucid live cd (linux 2.6.32). Neither of them caused the screen brightness controls to function. acpi_osi="Linux" gave me the same results as without. acpi_backlight=vendor caused there to be only an "nv_backlight" directory in "/sys/class/backlight/". Christopher, I will file a new report. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/971750 Title: [Toshiba L735-101] screen brightness cannot be set using hotkeys To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/971750/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 971750] Re: [Toshiba L735-101] screen brightness cannot be set using hotkeys
I have the same laptop (toshiba L735) with the same video card (nvidia 315M) and I also experience this bug. I just tried an ubuntu 10.04 (lucid) live cd which uses this kernel: Linux ubuntu 2.6.32-24-generic #39-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jul 28 05:14:15 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux The brightness does not change. The bug is present. In /sys/class/backlight/, I have: acpi_video0 -> ../../devices/virtual/backlight/acpi_video0 nv_backlight -> ../../devices/pci:00/:00:01.0/:01:00.0/backlight/nv_backlight Each of those directories has a file called actual_brightness that does *not* change when I use the brightness keys. I'll try this again with the kernel parameters mentioned above: acpi_backlight=vendor acpi_osi="Linux" (as soon as I figure out how to do this with the live cd) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/971750 Title: [Toshiba L735-101] screen brightness cannot be set using hotkeys To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/971750/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
