[Bug 1397348] Re: [Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q880] GT215 crash PGRAPH TLB flush idle timeout fail
I loaded kernel 3.18.0-031800rc6-generic amd64. Great thing - it worked, it no more stuck in infinite loops with this "flush idle" error. However another problem exists: - when new UI elements/windows/etc. show up on screen - i see glitches on screen - random dots and something similar to triangles - like if you put two 3d planes in 3d editors in same place or too close to each other - they start glitching and interfering. - in few minutes computer locks up and then reboots ** Attachment added: "screen glitches. dots and triangle" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1397348/+attachment/4271637/+files/x505%203-18-0%20rc6.JPG ** Tags added: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-3.18-rc6 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1397348 Title: [Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q880] GT215 crash PGRAPH TLB flush idle timeout fail To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1397348/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1397348] [NEW] GT215 crash PGRAPH TLB flush idle timeout fail
Public bug reported: I'm using ubuntu 14.04 LTS, as well as tried to load 15.04 dev build downloaded today. Display showing black and white rectangles with some color noise. When in switch to text i see errors from nouveau driver telling "PGRAPH TLB flush idle timeout fail". And i see it is happening in infinite loop. the only way to me to boot into X is to use "nomodeset". I dont want install nvidia proprietary drivers, since i will need to use Xen later and it won't work with them. [Bug 977588] Re: GPU hangs with PGRAPH TLB flush idle timeout fail
Christopher, thanks for reply. A have a comment and few questions. I have 14.04 LTS installed. I can only boot into X with "nomodeset" in options. in other cases i got my screen screwed up and system in infinite loop. shall i follow following procedure or do something different? 1. install xdiagnose 2. reboot without "nomodeset" option. have driver crash 3. reboot with "nomodeset" or just to text mode and extract logs for you? right? I also have just downloaded latest vivid-desktop-amd64.iso, however, its strange, but i can't boot from it yet, syslinux show error something about partition... then about comrgb.c32 or something like that. will try it again later. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/977588 Title: GPU hangs with PGRAPH TLB flush idle timeout fail To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+bug/977588/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
