[Bug 627503] Re: [Analog Devices AD1988] ALSA test tone not correctly played back
Hello ! I have a clue : it seems to be related to the nVidia proprietary drivers. I could reproduce the problem on an openSuSE fresh install : sound works out of the box, is lost after install of the drivers and comes back after uninstalling it ... [Bug 627503] Re: [Analog Devices AD1988] ALSA test tone not correctly played back
Already installed 1.0.23 from source using this procedure : http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=6589810#post6589810 No effect. Tried to add a "model=3stack" in the config file (also described in the mentioned post), no effect ... Tried to remove the pulseaudio config files, no effect. alsamixer confirms the correct channels are unmuted. Not really a polished product wanted for an LTS (I waited the 10.04.1 to update my 8.04 in order to avoid bad surprises, no luck ...). -- [Analog Devices AD1988] ALSA test tone not correctly played back https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/627503 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 162802] boot : modprobe fails directly after Gutsy upgrade
Public bug reported: Hello ! As the Gutsy LiveCD crashed on boot, I installed 7.04 and then upgraded immediately. Feisty did run flawlessly, but Gutsy didn't boot. I edited the GRUB param so that I could see the kernel messages, and I get an error saying that /sbin/modprobe failed. It is preceded by some lines seeming like a core dump indicating that module loaded is ide related (I can try to boot again and take picture if you think it's relevant). [Bug 37556] Re: unable to set upload rate limit
Same problem as described ... The only workaround I found was to open Freeloader, then change settings and after having set my upload limit, then launch the first torrent ... Whenever the client is closed, then the settings come back to 0. -- unable to set upload rate limit https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/37556 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 103297] Re: Kernel updater doesn't update grub's menu, lst correctly
Hello ! Here is my menu.lst (see attachment). Unfortunately I don't have a backup of the former one ... [Bug 103297] Re: Kernel updater doesn't update grub's menu, lst correctly
Hello ! I also have a similar problem, probably it has the same cause: I manually edited my menu.lst to open console in framebuffer and I removed the use of splash and quiet (I like to see the lines flying while kernel is booting ;)) ... After kernel update (Ubuntu 6.10, standard updater), grub config comes back to default ... Ticket #5167 from support seems to have the same cause too, I'll link the support request to this bug ... I'm available for every info that could be needed. [Bug 92748] Re: Latest Feisty Fawn Breaks Dell Laptop Intel Wireless
Hello ! In GNOME, it just says "Disconnected" ... I see the picture of 2 screens on top right of my screen (with an attention mark), with the bar that should be green which is orange. So I guess it's not an issue with the driver for the card itself, but with how it's used/setup for Internet use ... It's not only Internet that won't come, it's just not connected to any network ... Hope this clarifies the situation ... (this is not really critical as the wired networking is OK) Regards, Benoît -- Latest Feisty Fawn Breaks Dell Laptop Intel Wireless https://launchpad.net/bugs/92748 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 92748] Re: Latest Feisty Fawn Breaks Dell Laptop Intel Wireless
Hello ! I checked on my laptop ... In fact, kernel -11 is installed and restricted modules also ... I have all the latest updates for all the packages, but it still won't work ... I guess the WiFi card is still recognized, as in the properties I can choose my network (ESSID) and it even gives me the quality of the signal (86% at the moment). I'm certain my connection settings are OK and I use DHCP. Just ask if you need to know more ... [Bug 92748] Re: Latest Feisty Fawn Breaks Dell Laptop Intel Wireless
Hello ! I faced exactly the same problem yesterday with a no-brand laptop with exactly the same WiFi card. (Intel 2200BG) In fact, some of the kernel related packages were not installed (they were updated this morning), so maybe it might come from inconsistencies between kernel packages (some kernel packages installed and some not installed) I had no time to test WiFi after the update of this morning, but I'll check tonight if the problem is solved ...
