[Bug 298899] [NEW] Ubuntu freezes when Miro goes to fullscreen
Public bug reported: Ubuntu sometimes freezes, and the sound starts to loop, when Miro goes to fullscreen. There seems to be a correlation to memory usage. I use Ubuntu 8.04 and Miro 1.1.2 (r6194). ** Affects: miro (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Ubuntu freezes when Miro goes to fullscreen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/298899 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 234617] Re: Windows-version of Celtx (under Wine) restores size after minimize
In the GUI "Configure Wine", under the tab "Graphics", I have chosen the option to "Allow the window manager to control the windows. If windows are managed by your window manager, then they will have the standard borders, they will respect your virtual desktop and appear in your window list." This makes me suspect this bug not necessarily is related to Wine. [Bug 234874] [NEW] Minimizing Firefox may crash X-server
Public bug reported: Description: Minimizing Firefox 3.0b5 may crash X-server if the Visual Effects settings in Gnome (Under System -> Preferences ->Appearence -> Visual Effects) are set to "Normal". Also, I use the nVidia-driver. The following may reproduce what I believe is the same bug: Start a new session of Firefox and open youtube.com. Open a new tab and choose that tab. Start clicking on the Firefox-tab in the Gnome Panel/taskbar so that Firefox minimizes and restores itself. Click quite fast (approx 2-4 clicks per second) and sometimes up to 50 or more clicks in total. Eventually the X-server will crash and the login-screen appears. The following is from /var/log/syslog at the time of the crasches: " May 25 01:59:12 ubuntu-desktop gdm[6110]: WARNING: gdm_slave_xioerror_handler: Fatal X error - Restarting :0 May 25 01:59:17 ubuntu-desktop kernel: [39584.743570] agpgart: Found an AGP 3.5 compliant device at :00:00.0. " I have been unable to reproduce this bug without opening the second tab in Firefox or if the Visual effects are set to "None". Other than this bug, the system is stable. [Bug 234617] Re: Windows-version of Celtx (under Wine) restores size after minimize
Update: The above is valid if the Visual Effects settings in Gnome (Under System -> Preferences ->Appearence -> Visual Effects) are set to "Normal". The application stays on top and active until closed or the user chooses another application to be on top. If the Visual Effects settings are set to "None" the following happens: Minimize the application and it restores itself once but not on top and not active.
