[Bug 445303] Re: policykit-1 password dialog sometimes hangs

2010-04-23 Thread Berni
Hi!

I use karmic on a i386 machine and get these messages right after login in
.xsession. Sometime I have to double login.
And besides that I get a warning message from the screensaver:

(gnome-screensaver:1838): WARNING **: Failed to get session presence
proxy: Could not get owner of name 'org.gnome.SessionManager': no such
name

But this might be an other bug.
In my .xsession file appears at first the screensaver warning and then the two
polkit messages.

[Bug 548351] Re: quick search not accessible in lubuntu

2010-04-20 Thread Berni
Hi!

The same with me. But after I installed the package apt-xapian-index it's
working again.
Thanks Jean.
Maybe this package (apt-xapian-index) should be recommended in the synaptic
package.

[Bug 567307] [NEW] [lubuntu] slide control in rhythmbox isn't working right

2010-04-20 Thread Berni
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

I don't know if this is the right english word but with slide control I
mean this part of the window where you can see how long a track is just
playing and remains to play. Do you know what I mean?

However, I put on the debug mode and got the following messages during
playback:

(23:35:46) [0x931dfb8] [adjust_stream_base_time] rb-player-gst-xfade.c:916:
unable to adjust base time as position query failed
(23:35:46) [0x931dfb8] [adjust_base_time_probe_cb] rb-player-gst-xfade.c:872:
attempting to adjust base time for stream
http://play.last.fm/user/4a15057247bf924d66f41ad02e5fc2a0.mp3
(rhythmbox:1604): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid cast from
`GstAudioSinkRingBuffer' to `GstElement'

Maybe they have something to do with it. The first two messages are
repeating again and again until I stop the playback.

[Bug 501977] Re: ATI/AMD proprietary FGLRX graphics driver fails

2010-03-21 Thread Berni
Hi Phil!

What is your graphic card?
For my graphic card I use now the radeon driver. But when I open the
gnome-system-monitor it tells me that something is wrong. 'Cause of this
message I got in the terminal:

(gnome-system-monitor:2291): Wnck-WARNING **: Unhandled action type
_OB_WM_ACTION_UNDECORATE

Does anybody know what it means? I only see stripes in that window.

And, Phil, you can do this:
If you have gstreamer packages installed you can open (with a terminal)
gstreamer-properties to adjust some things for audio and video playback. It
helped me. Now I can watch movies again even in fullscreen.

Good luck

[Bug 501977] Re: ATI/AMD proprietary FGLRX graphics driver fails

2010-01-19 Thread Berni
Hi!

http://wiki.x.org says : If you appear to use the correct driver and you still
keep getting this message it is very likely that your chipset isn't supported
(yet). In this case you may try the vesa driver or - if this doesn't work - the
vga driver.
I have a ATI Radeon Mobility M6 LY and had to switch to use the vesa driver to
get all things right.
If I use the fglrx driver I get this from the Xorg.0.log:

(II) LoadModule: fglrx
(II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//fglrx_drv.so
(II) Module fglrx: vendor=FireGL - ATI Technologies Inc.

[Bug 464883] Re: Compiz causes Kernel Panic

2009-11-14 Thread Berni
Hey!

With the libgl1-mesa-swx11 package installed (that removes the libgl1-mesa-glx
package) compiz works now. Very slowly though and the CPU is up to 100 %, but
it's running.
And I found two other things:
- in /usr/bin/compiz: in line 35 the path has to be /usr/bin/xfwm4
- in /usr/bin/compiz-decorator: in line 23 the quotes are missing.

So I think that's not a bug anymore. :-)

bye-bye

[Bug 464883] Re: Compiz causes Kernel Panic

2009-11-01 Thread Berni
Hi!

If I start compiz then my whole system freezes and nothing worked anymore.
After shutting down hardly and rebooting the system compiz is stopped and
everything works fine, accept this: With copmiz stopped in the window of the

attachment). If I start compiz the gnome-system-monitor looks normal but then
my system freezes.
And if I start compiz with a shell I got several warnings. These I'll try to
post.
