[Bug 722198] Re: installation hangs on 15reuse w/ blank disk

2011-03-13 Thread Bojan Rajkovic
+1, can reproduce. Trying to install over a Debian install, and I never
make it to the partitioning stage. Always stuck at the first page of the
wizard. Partman fails with udpkg: not found. /var/log/installer/debug
from running ubiquity --debug is attached.

[Bug 722198] Re: installation hangs on 15reuse w/ blank disk

2011-03-13 Thread Bojan Rajkovic
Hmm, I think I've found what triggers the bug--partman only freezes if
there's unpartitioned space (I had around 280 GB reserved for a Windows
7 partition). After formatting the empty space as NTFS with GParted, I
was able to continue with the installation.

[Bug 391239] [NEW] Totem sets the GNOME global volume when changing volume and mutes volume between videos

2009-06-23 Thread Bojan Rajkovic
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

In Totem in Ubuntu Karmic, I'm seeing some strange behavior.

When changing the volume in Totem, it changes the master GNOME volume,
but ignores the linked LFE channel, which causes sound distortions. It
shouldn't even be changing the GNOME volume when I change the Totem
volume, a regression from Jaunty.

Also, when switching between videos, Totem proceeds to mute the volume
before starting the next video, again a regression from Jaunty.

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: i386
Date: Tue Jun 23 13:45:06 2009
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10
Package: totem 2.27.1-1ubuntu5

[Bug 325086] [NEW] Mixer applet doesn't respect the setting for which channels to control

2009-02-03 Thread Bojan Rajkovic
Public bug reported:

In my just-installed Jaunty (all packages up to date as per apt-get),
the new volume control applet doesn't respect the setting for which
channels it should control--I have a master and LFE, and I'd like it to
control both of them with the multimedia keys, but only master's volume
changes when I use the multimedia keys (observed behavior via
alsamixer).

Expected behavior:
Master and LFE change if both are selected in the Preferences dialog that is
selectable from a right mouse click on the volume applet's tray icon.

Actual behavior:
Only master changes, even after selecting LFE.

For completeness:

[Bug 249030] [NEW] MonoDevelop is missing a recommended package

MonoDevelop's C/C++ binding depends on exuberant-ctags in order to build

[Bug 209555] [NEW] hda_intel has intermittent, unreproducible static

[Bug 209402] [NEW] Samba shares die with input/output error

2008-03-30 Thread Bojan Rajkovic
Public bug reported:

I have two Samba shares mounted across the network to a server running Debian
sid, with Samba version 3.0.28a, which is the same as what's installed in
Ubuntu.
However, when I mount the shares and actually try to access them, very quickly
I run into an Input/output error in Nautilus, which I can also replicate on the
command line. Also, dmesg starts showing a lot of this type of message:

None of those folders exist on the other machine (the file does, but the
folders don't), and NETWORK_NAME_DELETED makes no sense, the folders are
able to be mounted, and smbclient can log in and talk to them, as well
as other smb apps. I don't want to just mount via Nautilus, because some
applications can't access those shared folders (firefox being one of
them, terminal apps being the other).

After the errors start, the only way I can actually umount the fileshare is to
run sudo umount -fli /media/downloads in order to get it to die.
This has started happening just recently, maybe one or two Samba updates ago.

[Bug 140831] Firefox errors at startup and does not load bookmarks or plugin preferences

2007-09-18 Thread Bojan Rajkovic
Public bug reported:

When starting up the latest Firefox from Gutsy's repos (2.0.0.6+2-0ubuntu3), I
get an error (will attach screenshot of error).
After I click through the dialog box that pops up, Firefox loads, but most of
my prefs aren't loaded, including all of my bookmarks.
The bookmarks don't get loaded even after I manually import bookmarks.html,
which still exists and contains all of my bookmarks.
Also, StumbleUpon acts as if it's signed off and almost all plugins which store
text preferences (ForecastFox, etc.) don't load either.

The files are all still there and still have all the prefs. Any ideas
about what's wrong?

Upon further experimentation, it seems that Firefox wipes out the

[Bug 126008] X won't start on ATI card without fglrx

2007-07-14 Thread Bojan Rajkovic
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-driver-vesa

X has problems starting on my ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 with the standard VESA
driver.
The error message says that there are no usable screens found when X tries to
start.
I can solve the problem by dropping to a tty with Ctrl-Alt-Fx and installing
fglrx, but I have to fight with ifconfig and iwconfig and networking to
estabilish a proper wireless connection from the commandline (I'm on a laptop
and don't have convenient access to a wired plug) so that fglrx can be fetched.
This bug was in Feisty, and has persisted into Gutsy as far as I can tell.

I can submit the output from sudo lspci -vvnn, the very basic and default
xorg.conf that gets used to reproduce the error.
I'll also submit more exact error text and also Xorg.0.log files as soon as I
reproduce the error again.

** Affects: xserver-xorg-driver-vesa (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
