I would be surprised if this bug isn't a duplicate. Whenever I boot my system, everything is fine but when I open any application or window, it appears, usually, in the upper-left hand side of my display and lacks a title bar (so no title, close, minimize, maximize buttons). Transparency seems to work find, but I am also unable to switch windows with alt+tab and am unable to switch to different workplaces either through ctrl+alt+[arrow] or through the workplace applet on my gnome panel. I've been able to work around this by opening a terminal via the gnome-panel menu and running 'compiz'. This gives me my menu bars back and all my previous functions (that I've noticed). It would seem that I am unable to adjust the 'level' of my Visual Effects (through SystemPreferencesAppearance). I can select Normal level, and I get the usual flickering and the alert asking me if I want to keep these settings, but this appears to have no effect and compiz behaves as if I had not made the change. When I go back to check my Visual Effect settings I see that the radio is on None and not Normal. I would expect Unity to highlight a single program, most likely from the list of those frequently used, until that list has no matches, at which point I would expect Unity to highlight an app from the installed list. In other words, I would like to be able to type in my program name and just hit enter to get [a single instance of] my program. Same goes for the Folder+files menu... I cannot test this because I have another bug, at the moment. EDIT- Nevermind... now it's not doing it. [Bug 737003] Re: Unity launcher files and applications start two programs with keyboad entry
** Description changed: Binary package hint: unity Hit ctrl-a to bring up Unity's application menu (or whatever you call it). Now type in the name of a program that will be in your 'Most frequently used', in my case I might do type 'update' and I see that the update-manager appears selected, both in 'Most frequently used', and 'Installed'. - Now, if I hit 'enter' on my keyboard to launch the update-manager, I have two instances of the application. I would expect only one. + Now, if I hit 'enter' on my keyboard to launch the update-manager, I get two instances of the same application. I would expect only one. Now, I would image things get more annoying when Unity highlights three different apps from my 'Most frequently used', 'Installed' and 'Apps available for download'. [Bug 565527] [NEW] Lose window 'title bar' on startups
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz First, I'm not sure this is an issue with compiz. I've been able to work around this by opening a terminal via the gnome- panel menu and running 'compiz'. [Bug 555301] [NEW] unable to delete or remove parent directories from User Defined Folders through Nautilus or U1 webUI
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client Right click on any folder and select 'Synchronize on Ubuntu One from the context menu. This folder will then appear under User Defined Folders in the U1 webUI. However, there is no way to delete or remove this folder from U1. [Bug 532633] Re: [light-theme] please revert the order of the window controls back to menu:minimize, maximize, close
I was sceptical of this change at first. But having only used lucid since the alpha 3 release, I've grown quite fond of the current button position, on the left hand side of the screen. I would encourage users to be patient and to give lucid (now beta 1) some solid, rigorous use (not 5 minutes as virtualized install) before making a decision and voicing an opinion. [Bug 537686] Re: Tomboy sync with U1 server gives 504 error
If this is just a 504... perhaps there is a more graceful way for this to be handled, either in the web ui (in which case this should go to U1 server as a wishlist) or in Tomboy (then take it to tomboy).
