[Bug 994345] Re: [Realtek ALC262, Green Line Out, Rear] No sound at all after upgrade to precise

2012-05-04 Thread Brian Bolek
I was able to fix this by installing Realtek's Linux driver (3.0) at the bottom
of this page:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1PNid=24PFid=24Level=4Conn=3DownTypeID=3GetDown=false
You have to tar -jxvf the bz2 file it downloads and run the ./install script,
then reboot. You also have to unmute the master volumes again in your mixer - I
had done this before and the install of the driver muted them again. After
this, my sound worked in Linux and then worked in MythTV after a configuration
change to tell the audio to use the new driver.

[Bug 659631] [NEW] mythbuntu installer crashes retrieving file 23 of 32

2010-10-12 Thread Brian Bolek
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubiquity

I am trying to install Mythbuntu 10.10 and after a few minutes the
keyboard and mouse stop responding (whether USB or PS/2). At the end,
even if I don't tell the installer to download updates, it says
retrieving file and gets to 23 of 32 and then crashes.
