[Bug 1035431] Re: bluetooh-wizard failed to connect to a keyboard

2012-11-19 Thread Calcipher
I know that the 'me too' button servers the same purpose, but I wanted
to say that I'm experiencing the same problem. I'm using a Logitech
k810 keyboard and Laurent's solution (use bluez-simple-agent to add the
device) worked for me. Is there a way to make bluetooth-wizard put out
verbose error messages?

[Bug 996791] Re: Xubuntu 12.04 extremely slow login

2012-06-12 Thread Calcipher
The solution suggested by 0xerror did not work for me. I think there
may be different issues afoot.

Is the bug obrowny and txelu related to the original bug? If not, we
need to create a new bug report. I can confirm that the Top-Right and
Top key combinations both function as Top

[Bug 875522] [NEW] Grid Plugin has the Top Right action seemingly bound to Top

2011-10-16 Thread Calcipher
Public bug reported:

I am running xubuntu 11.10, however, according to reports in bug
#862260, this is happening in other versions (i.e. Ubuntu main). It
appears that the keyboard shortcut for Top Right does the same action
as Top in the Grid plugin. That is, the Top Right action causes the
window to stretch the full width of the screen, but take up only half of
it as expected from the Top action.

** Affects: compiz-plugins-main (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 280117] Re: [Intrepid]didn't recognized keyboard after upgrading

2008-10-10 Thread Calcipher
I would like to second this bug. I added :
Section InputDevice
Identifier Generic Keyboard
Driver kbd
EndSection

Section InputDevice
Identifier Configured Mouse
Driver mouse
EndSection

to my xorg.conf file which allowed for mouse and keyboard to work again.
Before I added these there were no entries for InputDevice at all in
the xorg.conf file.

[Bug 197819] Re: broadcom wireless not working fresh install of hardy

2008-03-03 Thread Calcipher
I am running a Buffalo G PCMCIA wireless card which also uses the Broadcom
drivers. I, with a fresh install of Hardy, get the same behavior as the OP. The
output from dmesg is:
[ 390.486921] b43-phy0 ERROR: Firmware file b43/ucode5.fw not found or load
failed.
[ 390.486938] b43-phy0 ERROR: You must go to

correct firmware (version 4).

[ 287.630427] b43-phy0 ERROR: You must go to

and from lsmod | grep b43

Again, the system acts like there is a wireless card and that it is active but
no lights come on for the card and no wireless networks (I'm positive that
there are several in the area) show up.

[Bug 197819] Re: broadcom wireless not working fresh install of hardy

2008-03-03 Thread Calcipher
Update, I removed package b43-fwcutter (installed by Ubuntu) and
installed package bcm43xx-fcutter to no result; however, when I went to
the the hardware drivers page I noticed that the check box next to
enabled was off so I re-enabled it (note: it was enabled before I
removed b43). The driver manager installed b43-fwcutter alongside
bcm43xx-fcutter and with both installed the lights on the device have
turned on and wireless networks are visible.
