[Bug 459664] [NEW] Backuppc errors restoring when it encounters filenames starting ~$
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: backuppc Backuppc errors restoring when it encounters filenames starting ~$ Some background: ~$ files are temporary files, created by Microsoft Word in the current directory whilst Word is editing the original file. For example - opening filename.doc with word creates an additional file ~$filename.doc If Word crashes, it leaves this file behind. It's not usually a problem, but it is playing havoc with BackupPC restore. BackupPC backs up these files without a problem. I found that if I select a directory for restoration that contains a ~$xxx file, the restore fails. The only workarond I can think of for the moment Is to do a nightly purge of the pesky ~$xxx files before backups take place. Cheers, Chris. ** Affects: backuppc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Backuppc errors restoring when it encounters filenames starting ~$ https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/459664 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to backuppc in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
