[Bug 380077] [NEW] vlc ignores subtitle font setting
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: vlc VLC ignores my font selection for rendering subtitles. It will briefly display the filename in my selected font at the start of playback, but for the text of subtitles (from, for example, an externally loaded srt file or from embedded srt subtitles) always uses the same font. I'm not entirely sure but it appears to be Verdana or Bitstream Vera Sans. I thought that perhaps I was just having a miserably bad day distinguishing fonts, so I tried a serif font -- again, the file name was displayed in my selected font and VLC immediately reverted to displaying the actual subtitles in the mystery sans serif font. As far as I know, there is no facility for specifying a font in SRT format, and at any rate, I've read over the entire file and there don't appear to be any references to other fonts, so I am pretty sure that VLC is simply ignoring the setting. Here is the relevant section of my vlcrc: [freetype] # Freetype2 font renderer # string (Font) freetype-font=/usr/local/share/fonts/Droid/DroidSans-Bold.ttf # integer (Font size in pixels) freetype-fontsize=24 # integer (Opacity) #freetype-opacity=255 # integer (Text default color) #freetype-color=16777215 # integer (Relative font size) #freetype-rel-fontsize=16 # integer (Font Effect) freetype-effect=3 # boolean (Use YUVP renderer) #freetype-yuvp=0 The file I have described exists and is readable: $ ls -l /usr/local/share/fonts/Droid/DroidSans-Bold.ttf -rw-r--r-- 1 root staff 148484 2009-04-19 21:59 /usr/local/share/fonts/Droid/DroidSans-Bold.ttf (again, at the start of playback, VLC displays the video filename in Droid Sans Bold, so it's not that VLC can't open the file for reading) I have tried nuking ~/.config/vlc and recreating my settings again; the result is the same. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mail-notification When using mail-notification with Evolution accounts, the popups disappear instantly from the popup stack when a message is moved to another folder by a filter. Since the popup disappears instantly, and the message is simultaneously moved out of the account's inbox, this leaves me knowing only that I have a new message *somewhere*, and I have to manually plow through many folders to find what it might have been. The popup disappears instantly whether or not I have configured mail- notification to override the desktop default for popup expiration, and even when I have configured popups to never expire. The behavior for a message popup should be that it remains until the configured or default expiration time arrives. I would not even mind if the "open" and "mark as read" buttons failed in this scenario, but the instantaneous disappearance of the message popups is almost maddening. [Bug 212431] Re: [Hardy] displayconfig-gtk does not change Virtual setting in xorg.conf
I think displayconfig-gtk is broken in some deeper way at the moment. It was writing Virtual directives for a resolution larger than my display can support (1920x1200), but still displaying the correct maximum resolution in its GUI (1680x1050). The actual result was very bizarre: the X server would display a 1680x1050 area, stretched slightly both horizontally and vertically so the contents spilled offscreen and the mouse pointer had to be moved to the edge to bring them on. I'd estimate that about 5-10% of the width and height were offscreen at all times. Altering the Virtual directive and removing all references to 1920x1200 in xorg.conf had no effect. [Bug 215283] [NEW] rhythmbox restarts after exit
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox I first filed this as a question, as I am only able to reproduce it on one of my two Ubuntu systems. I am using version 0.11.5-0ubuntu2. When I exit Rhythmbox, it restarts itself (or something else restarts it) immediately, with a new process id. It does respond to SIGTERM however, and does not respawn itself after being terminated. pstree shows it as a child process of init, which doesn't tell me much. [Bug 201510] [NEW] Last.fm plugin does not scrobble songs played from remote DAAP share
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox The Last.fm plugin for Rhythmbox does not appear to submit information to the Audioscrobbler web services site for songs played from a remote DAAP share. This is unfortunate since I do around half of my listening from remote clients and those songs are not submitted. ** Affects: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Last.fm plugin does not scrobble songs played from remote DAAP share https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/201510 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 186999] Re: Dell OEM ATI graphics chip not recognised by Restricted Drivers Manager
i have this same system -- in my experience the VESA driver does not even work acceptably, leaving a badly scrambled color palette after switching back from a VT or after any change in screen resolution. as far as i know the only solution at the moment is to install the fglrx driver using ATI's installer. restricted-manager correctly detects that the hardware is unsupported by the current fglrx packages, but exits with a misleading error message. this bug should probably be moved to one of the fglrx packages. -- Dell OEM ATI graphics chip not recognised by Restricted Drivers Manager https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/186999 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 180153] rephrase message: "Your hardware does not need any restricted drivers"
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: restricted-manager "No hardware compatible with restricted drivers was detected" would be a much more accurate description of this exit status. ** Affects: restricted-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- rephrase message: "Your hardware does not need any restricted drivers" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/180153 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 150393] Re: deluge crashed with DuplicateTorrentError in sync()
upgrading to 0.5.7.1 does not resolve the error; persistent.state must still be blown away. is there at least some way to get it to name what torrent it believes is a duplicate? -- deluge crashed with DuplicateTorrentError in sync() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/150393 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
