[Bug 1404731] Re: [ Dell OptiPlex 7020, Realtek ALC3220, Green Line Out, Rear] Background noise
My workaround to go into pavucontrol and set the Built-in Audio Analogue Stereo to "Headphones (unplugged)" does work, but sometimes I need to switch it into this mode multiple times (via "Speakers") in order to get the proper bass working. The same issue happens when using the command line via "pacmd set-sink-port 1 analog-output-headphones" So, there's something weird happening here when trying to set the mode too, but it does work after a few tries. This affects me too. This is on a modern PowerEdge T20 server but it uses the same RealTek audio chip. A workaround is to use one of the two methods: 1) Using pavucontrol, switch the output from "Speakers" to "Headphones (unplugged)". 2) Using alsamixer, increase the "Headphone" volume and disable "Speaker". [Bug 971951] Re: firmware not responding if on demand firmware of cx24116 (/lib/firmware/dvb-fe-cx24116.fw) is present during boot
My 'unplug the computer' trick seems to work consistently. However, it's really annoying that when an incomplete shutdown occurs (e.g. I need to force power off the machine, or the Ubuntu shutdown process hangs, which it unfortunately seems to very often on my HTPC), I usually get this error message. My feeling is that the firmware upload should be completed when the card is used for the first time. [Bug 405390] [NEW] Ortek Wireless Keyboard with Touchpad - Keyboard does not work
Public bug reported: Problem with '2.4GHz Entertainment Slim Keyboard with Smart Touchpad', a combination keyboard/touchpad produced by Ortek. This is the keyboard at http://www.ebuyer.com/product/158377 Basically, the keyboard section of this device does not work, i.e. no keypresses are detected. The touchpad part seems fine. The keyboard correctly works in at least two BIOSs and also under a standard WinXP install without extra drivers. Relevant lsusb -v section: Bus 003 Device 002: ID 05a4:2000 Ortek Technology, Inc.
