[Bug 1961030] [NEW] Default firewall rules with firewalld are differnt to the ones with ufw
Public bug reported: I'm no expert on firewalls. But coming from Fedora, I found ufw more complicated than firewalld. So I did run "apt remove ufw" and "apt install firewalld" to replace ufw with firewalld, which I'm more familiar with. I don't expect this operation to change the actual firewall rules, but I found it did. Not by some detailed analysis of the rules, but by the fact that when using firewalld my printer is not detected. I have never installed any driver. AFAIK my printer can be used, as any half modern one, via "IPP Everywhere". So it would seem the default firewalld configuration differs from the ufw, at the very least, in it breaking "IPP Everywhere" support. That same printer was detected from Fedora, using firewalld. Public bug reported: wireshark-dev-3.4.7-1~exp1 from Ubuntu 21.10 includes the file /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/wireshark/cmake/WiresharkTargets.cmake. I don't really understand what's the difference between wireshark-dev and libwireshark-dev. cmake/WiresharkConfig.cmake and pkgconfig/wireshark.pc have basically the same function, but they are in different packages? But in any case, WiresharkTargets.cmake says: add_library(wsutil SHARED IMPORTED) set_target_properties(wsutil PROPERTIES INTERFACE_INCLUDE_DIRECTORIES "/usr/include;/usr/include" INTERFACE_LINK_LIBRARIES "dl;/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgmodule-2.0.so;/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libglib-2.0.so;/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgcrypt.so;/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgpg-error.so;/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgnutls.so;m" INTERFACE_SYSTEM_INCLUDE_DIRECTORIES "/usr/include;/usr/include" ) But wireshark-dev doesn't depend on anything providing /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgcrypt.so or /usr/lib/x86_64-linux- gnu/libgnutls.so. I had to manually install libgnutls28-dev and libgcrypt20-dev to build my Wireshark dissector with a cmake build system (the epan target depends on the wsutil target). Probably WiresharkTargets.cmake is wrong, the dependency doesn't really exist, but as long as it says it's there the package metadata should probably have it too. ** Affects: wireshark (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1960334 Title: Missing dependency in wireshark-dev To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wireshark/+bug/1960334/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1960328] [NEW] Missing header means it's not possible to build third-party plugins
Public bug reported: https://salsa.debian.org/debian/wireshark/-/commit/d3c942593b8cb061e09b1bd9d0cb3c689105f17c fixes an issue in which some headers where not being packaged, but that's not in the Ubuntu 21.10 package. Specifically, the lack of ws_version.h makes it impossible to build any third-party plug-in (e.g. dissector) since the plug-in needs to match the Wireshark version (because of a lack of a stable plug-in ABI, I guess). ** Affects: wireshark (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1960328 Title: Missing header means it's not possible to build third-party plugins To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wireshark/+bug/1960328/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi Kai, attached on this message are the log files for dmesg, udevadm and the prpduct version. [Bug 1822426] Re: 19.04 Built in Intel HDA sound is disabled upon resume
I also noticed this, my laptop's integrated Intel audio device is also missing from pulseaudio(both as input and output), but I can see other HDMI or USB sound devices I may have attached and I can switch to them and they work as expected. Interestingly the device works when playing a WAV file using aplay, but only if I run aplay as root. As a normal user I can just see it in alsamixer and I can play with the volume and mute controls there. Here's the error I get when using aplay as my ordinary user: $ aplay test.wav ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1071:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to create IPC semaphore aplay: main:828: audio open error: Permission denied -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1822426 Title: 19.04 Built in Intel HDA sound is disabled upon resume To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1822426/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1764047] Re: Unable to switch realm on authentication dialog
For now Ubuntu 18.04 packages of openconnect-8.02 are available in my PPA: https://launchpad.net/~cristi/+archive/ubuntu/openconnect I also tried to create packages for 18.10 but those fail to compile and I didn't have time to look into it yet, any help would be more than welcome. @Mike unfortunately I don't have more to spend on this, but if you could make some packages and put them in a PPA maybe someone out there could give it a try. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1764047 Title: Unable to switch realm on authentication dialog To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/network-manager-openconnect/+bug/1764047/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
