[Bug 1029289] Re: Need to authorize my google account each time I boot the computer
@Alberto: I did a few tests, and it looks like my accounts are going completely crazy. Maybe it's my home folder's fault, with files dating back to the old dapper drake :D However, the login request appears with at least one between evolution contacts, evolution gmail, evolution calendar, empathy, shotwell enabled. If I enable one of them, the request appears immediately. Obviuosly I always gave access before logging out. The login request is in the form illustrated by the attached screenshot: a new window appears, and usually I have to enter my credentials in the main window; every now and then the main window appears black, and the form is in the secondary window. I use the two-step authentication from google, and the first time I added the account it opened a google page in the main window and I had to enter the token from the google auth app. ** Attachment added: "Funny login screen" https://bugs.launchpad.net/account-plugins/+bug/1029289/+attachment/3779398/+files/Bug%20google%20account%20-%20screen1.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1029289 Title: Need to authorize my google account each time I boot the computer To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/account-plugins/+bug/1029289/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 839164] [NEW] [Oneiric] Panel gets focus but stays in the background with fullscreen apps
Public bug reported: I am using Ubuntu 11.10 x64 on a it-IT i18n environment; unity package version is 0.4.95-0ubuntu1. Every time I have a fullscreen app, the Unity panel does not show up. I thought it was simply not activating, but I quickly found out that it is actually active, but it stays under the fullscreen app. If I click on a spot where the panel should be (and actually is, even if I can't see it), I can see the effect of my click. In particular: * if I click on the Ubuntu logo (or where it is supposed to be), the unity dash opens, but still in the background, under the fullscreen app. I can see it open as the top dark bar becomes aubergine. Still it does not mask the fullscreen app, and every click goes to the app. You can see the attached image to better understand. * if I click on another spot on the (invisible) panel, it launches the app it has to open, but still doesn't show up until I reduce the fullscreen app. ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/839164 Title: [Oneiric] Panel gets focus but stays in the background with fullscreen apps To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/839164/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 835945] [NEW] Hansol H750 giving wrong EDID refresh rate
Public bug reported: This particular bug I am reporting is killing me from a few years ago, with every Linux distribution (so, from the removal of xorg.conf). Now that I have two computers, I can say I did find out the problem. My monitor is a 17" Hansol H750 LCD, and I cannot use any Linux distribution without having my monitor say "out of range". I did find out the monitor is reporting a wrong maximum frequency: vfreq 333.176Hz, hfreq 355.166kHz - whilst its maximum is a 70-75 Hz. I am going to attach the output of get-edid (parsed), ddcprobe, and the xorg.conf that solved everything. I am at your complete disposal to solve this particular bug. [Bug 340602] Re: [RS600] Monitor "out of range" with Hansol H750 on radeon X1250
Sorry for my really late answer, but I was unable to stop using my pc and make tests for this problem. Today I put Ubuntu Lucid 10.04 beta 2 on my USB key and I booted on my pc. While the violet screen did appear, when the boot started the screen became plainly black (not even "out of range"). Trying to change tty with ctrl-alt-F1 or other F buttons did not help at all. I tried Alberto Milone's hint, but the only thing that changed is that before plymouth has to start, I see a blinking cursor for a second or two. [Bug 392265] Re: "Unread Messages" icon is difficult to distinguish from default icon
Yesterday I worked for all the afternoon without even knowing there were new messages for me to read, as at a fast glance the small icon is almost the same... As stated in bug #450825 the new notification icons are not meant to remove all the colors from there, but to use colors to grab the user attention (eg. red for errors and warnings). Now, I think that when new messages are present and unread, the notification has to grab the user attention: it's what it is meant to do. Obviously, red is not an option, as it would not be a warning, but why can't we use yellow or green for indicator-messages-new icon? With low brightness and saturation, it would still be unobtrusive but could attract the attention of the user interested in knowing if there are new messages. -- "Unread Messages" icon is difficult to distinguish from default icon https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/392265 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 471044] [NEW] Dropdown menu disappears and applet becomes unresponsive when new event happens
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: indicator-applet I started using indicator-applet with Ubuntu 9.10, so I do not know if it's a new bug or an old one. I am using Pidgin as IM app, and when I click on the indicator applet to show the dropdown menu, and a contact logs in or writes me, the dropdown menu disappears, while the applet remains active. Steps to reproduce: 1. open pidgin (also empathy?) and enable an account with some login/logout activities 2. click on indicator-applet to show the dropdown menu 3. wait for a contact to login or write something to you What happens: the dropdown menu disappears, the applet remains "active" (brown color on the back). To show the menu again and select something in it you have to make the applet unactive clicking on it once and click on it again to show the menu - hoping nobody else logs in before you click on the event! What should happen: the menu gets updated with the new event, and stays open. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: cups I am using Ubuntu 9.10 updated as of today from beta 6. With Ubuntu 9.04 I had no problems at all using my Epson Stylus Photo R220. Now I am unable to have a decent print from Ubuntu. I tried printing a black and white file made with inkscape, but it became black and yellow. Tried saving it as a pdf and printing with evince: same problem. Tried doing a png and printing with GIMP: same yellow print. Today I saved an Inkscape page (with colors) as pdf and tried printing with acroread (from Canonical partners' repository): the green becames yellow with stripes, a blue gradient goes from yellow to pink and violet, and a blue square becames dark grey. I tried printing the ubuntu test page and the automatic test page, and they both come out perfectly. I am at your disposal for any other information you may need to find out the problem. [Bug 126103] Re: should apply icons to xdg-user-dirs
I do really agree with Nicolò. That feature should not reduce the immediate impression that "Music" or "Video" are folders, not apps nor files. * Full-size emblems w/o folder: seem to be something else (application?) * Mimetypes: are really misleading, as they only represent a file * Emblems: the folders keep on showing up as folders, but the emblem is not shown everywhere (not on panel, menu) * Appropriate icons in "places": it's the most difficult possibility, but it would be perfect. Obviously, they should not be a mere "collage" of a folder and another icon: the style should be that of the home folder icon. -- should apply icons to xdg-user-dirs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/126103 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 384081] Re: Firefox (Gecko) cutting upper part of some text lines
I am using 3.0.11 now, and the problem is still here. In particular: * the title of the Apache website ("The Apache Software Foundation") is always cut in the upper half (problem of borders/paddings/margins?) - in FF 3 (even in safe mode), in Epiphany, etc. * the text cut in other lines and other websites seems to be a rendering problem: it is usually (not always) a problem linked to scrolling the page. That problem disappears if I give focus to another window (or if I give focus to FF if it was not on top), but only for the lines I can see: if I scroll up/down, some lines are cut. I am at your complete disposal for any information I could give. [Bug 384081] [NEW] Firefox (Gecko) cutting upper part of some text lines
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox-3.0 A few days ago some strange rendering errors started appearing casually on Firefox and all Gecko browsers I have installed (FF 3.5, Epiphany - not on Midori [Webkit]). I am using FF 3.0.10 on Ubuntu 9.04 with it-IT environment and amd64 arch. I attach two screenshots of the main page of the www.apache.org website: note the title "The Apache Software Foundation" cut in the upper part (but also "Latest News" has the same problem). It seems that removing the "line-height: 1;" property for these texts solves the problem. The same problem happens with the Ubuntu website, but seems to be a rendering problem (scrolling the page makes the problem appear on other lines -.-) and the bug disappears when trying to get a screenshot. [Bug 356297] Re: Set system time doesn't open time configuration
I can confirm this bug using Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty on amd64, it-IT l10n. Steps to reproduce: 1. right click on the clock panel applet 2. select "Set time and date" (Regola data e ora - Italian) 3. select "Set system time" (Imposta ora sistema - Italian) button on the window that opens up 4. Insert your password as a sudoer and authenticate with policykit What happens: The first window - "Set time and date" - closes correctly, but the window where setting the system date and time does not open. Expected result: The first window - "Set time and date" - closes, and a new window of time-admin opens unlocked, making it possible to set time and date system wide. I do not know if this bug is filed against the correct package... Surely it is not a problem of gnome-applet; trying to file it against gnome- panel. Could it be a problem with policykit? ** Changed in: gnome-applets (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Also affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- Set system time doesn't open time configuration https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/356297 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 345363] Re: [jaunty] "Next track" notification appears even if nothing listening
Well, if it is a momentary "regression" (it is not a previous feature, so it is not a standard regression) in order to reach a perfect implementation in 9.10, then it can be surely worth the wait! [Bug 345363] Re: [jaunty] "Next track" notification appears even if nothing listening
While it is evident that this bug is solved with latest "fix", it does introduce a regression against the desired behaviour of notify-osd in the specs page. Now the hotkey actions are not notified at all (again, bug #343261). The scope of this particular bug was "only" to make g-s-d wait for a program to listen and act at a hotkey action before making notify-osd show a confirmation notification. -- [jaunty] "Next track" notification appears even if nothing listening https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/345363 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 343261] Re: No notification on audio changes (Play, Pause, Next, Previous)
Well, solving bug #345363 and bug #351986 did remove completely the notification for audio change notification in g-s-d 2.26.0-0ubuntu3. In the notify-OSD specs ([1]) there is still the description of the hotkey notification system, but now it is in fact not working at all by default. I did think the desired behaviour for notify-osd was to follow the written specs... [Bug 351986] Re: Multimedia key notifications are useless
Hi Rodney, as far as I can see you pointed out many "glitches" of the new notification system. Many of these are already being discussed in the relevant bug reports: bug #345363: "Next track" notification appears even if nothing listening bug #345296: confirmation bubble is overlapped by notification bubbles bug #354149: Synchronous notification bubble does not appear under existing bubble bug #354339: Notification bubble can change size while Confirmation bubble is visible Some of the problems you listed do not have a bug report filed against the correct package or project. I suggest you to comment and subscribe to the bugs listed above, and to report new bugs for the problems you did encounter with the new notify-OSD: a bug report should list only a problem, without going off-topic. ** Changed in: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- Multimedia key notifications are useless https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351986 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 355330] [NEW] [Jaunty] Calendar applet popup opens under focused windows
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz I am using compiz 0.8.2-0ubuntu6 on Ubuntu 9.04 amd64, it-IT l10n. With recent updates, I discovered the calendar popup that shows up clicking on the clock applet of GNOME panel opens under the focused window. Steps to reproduce: 1. open a window and make sure it covers the top-right corner of the desktop and it is focused 2. click on the clock applet Expected result: the calendar popup opens on top of the focused window What happens: the calendar popup stays under the focused window I attach a screenshot of the problem. It seems to be the same problem of bug #131050 fixed in Gutsy, and the workaround described on that bug works for me (clicking on the focused window after steps 1 and 2 make the popup appear). I also tried using a Guest account, but I cannot reproduce the problem. ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Jaunty] Calendar applet popup opens under focused windows https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/355330 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
