[Bug 1221301] Re: cannot install wine1.4 : Depends: wine1.4-i386 (= 1.4.1-0ubuntu7) which is a virtual package.
I encountered this issue on Saucy. I had installed the system with debootstrap. My system did not contain /etc/dpkg/dpkg.cfg.d/multiarch. I ran 'sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386' as suggested by @micahg. My system still does not contain /etc/dpkg/dpkg.cfg.d/multiarch (nor any reference to i386 in any file in /etc/dpkg `grep -Ri i386 /etc/dpkg/`). But after a 'sudo apt-get update' I saw it download i386 packge lists. And now I can install wine1.4. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1221301 Title: cannot install wine1.4 : Depends: wine1.4-i386 (= 1.4.1-0ubuntu7) which is a virtual package. [Bug 887374] [NEW] Update to a newer FreeTDS
Public bug reported: The current stable release of FreeTDS at freetds.org is 0.91 (ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/ALPHA/freetds/stable/). I propose updating the package included with Precise Pangolin or a later version of Ubuntu to include either 0.91 or another FreeTDS stable release more recent than 0.82. Version 0.82 has been the version of FreeTDS used in Ubuntu since Lucid Lynx and is stable from my experience. Sadly, it is missing some connection string parse options that would be nice to have and those options are available in later FreeTDS stable releases. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help move this forward. ** Affects: freetds (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/887374 Title: Update to a newer FreeTDS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/freetds/+bug/887374/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 728227] Re: add --copy-devices option to rsync
I stand corrected, the copy-devices patch does work as is. [Bug 728227] Re: add --copy-devices option to rsync
FYI: The patches for copy-devices and write-devices are located at git://git.samba.org/rsync-patches.git The copy-devices patch applies cleanly to git://git.samba.org/rsync.git but the write-devices patch does not. I tried the copy-devices patch and it still skips my LVM volume even though the option is available and enabled. [Bug 270570] Re: cifs mounts and unmounts properly for a day or so, then hangs on future mounts
I have since added a 'sync' statement in my script before mounting and before unmounting the CIFS shares. Haven't had any issues since. [Bug 214212] [NEW] dom0 locks up on Xen HVM high IO
Public bug reported: I installed Gutsy on a server (it was desktop Kubuntu). Updated all packages using apt-get. Then installed xen using apt-get. I had a Windows HVM up and running in a very short amount of time. I tried copying a large database (~60gigs) to the Windows domU. After about 30 gigs transfered, the entire system locked up. No error messages to be seen. I tried it again and the system locked up after transferring ~16 gigs. I tried this transfer several different ways. - Database files located on remote linux box, exported drive using aoe and handed the drive off to Windows domU using config file. Drive showed up as expected and transfer started but crashed after several 10 gigs. - Database files shared on remote Windows server. Windows domU accessed remote server via smb and transfered database over network. Failed after several 10 gigs. - Database files on IDE drive connected to dom0 via USB-IDE adapter. Handed off to domU using config file. Drive showed as expected, but transfer cause dom0 lockup. It seems like others have had this problem as well as discussed in the xen-users mailing list (http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen- users/2008-04/msg00319.html) I would like to help out in any way possible as I would like to continue to use Ubuntu. I do not know where to begin or how I can help to get more information. Please let me know what other information I may be able to provide to help solve this problem. I do not recall my exact steps at this point as it has been a long time since I had done that.
