Can you post the output of this command? (Make sure you press 'N' to cancel installation if the packages are still unacceptable to you): sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends nautilus Note that Synaptic has a setting to not pull 'Recommends' packages by default (the equivalent of the --no-install-recommends argument passed to apt in the command above). [Bug 1093013] Re: sensors-detect doesn't find fans on HP ProBook 6560b
sensors-detect is not going to find your fan, as it is controlled through BIOS/ACPI and is not manually configurable by using PWM like a fan attached to a desktop motherboard fan header. The real issue here is that your system is running so hot (which causes the fan to run full speed to prevent hardware damage). My educated guess is that the opensource radeon driver is causing your GPU (and subsequently, the CPU and other internals) to heat up. Try using the proprietary AMD fglrx/Catalyst driver and see if the temps come down. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1093013 Title: sensors-detect doesn't find fans on HP ProBook 6560b To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lm-sensors/+bug/1093013/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
