Nop, Intel, driver intel not i810. [Bug 161150] Compiz locks screen randomly on ubuntu gutsy
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz When running compiz on ubuntu Gutsy, the screen stops accepting input (keyboard or mouse) randomly (once or twice a day). When the screen is blocked, the cursor still moves around the screen, and keeps it's shape (arror, I ...). It is possible to recover the screen using ctrlaltsysR then ctrlaltf5 to get to a usable console, and killing compiz.real from this console. Note: I tried to run xkill from the console (using export DISPLAY=:0) but I was told that it couldn't grab the cursor. ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Compiz locks screen randomly on ubuntu gutsy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/161150 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 115406] Ubiquity doesn't handle the case of /boot being on a different partition from /
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity When I installed ubuntu 7.04 on a laptop, I made /boot a seperate partition, to get arround a possible cylinder 1024 bug. The install finished fine, but grub wasn't configured correctly, the entries for Ubuntu referenced my / partition, using /boot/... instead of referencing my boot partition, using the path /vmlinuz... [Bug 58424] Re: Can't calculate the upgrade with unofficial mesa/compiz packages
OK, I'll just add my grain of salt to the xorg bug. After upgrading, my nvidia drivers wouldn't load (normal, since I'd installed the beta 9xxx drivers from nzone), so I edited my xorg.conf to use the nv driver. On restarting xorg, it didn't (restart). I unfortunately don't have the logs (I re-installed from edgy beta and upgraded to current) but they mentioned version incompatibilities between the xorg binary and the modules, which meant that said modules refused to load. -- Can't calculate the upgrade with unofficial mesa/compiz packages https://launchpad.net/bugs/58424 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
