I am having this same issue in Natty. In fact, this problem only occured after upgrading to Natty. Installing seahorse-plugins did not resolve the issue. I just grabbed all the latest updates, kernel and all. Closing the lid successfully suspends the machine. Opening the lid successfully bring me back to my desktop. The only problem is that when it wakes back up there is a slight graphical glitch in the Date/Time applet. I have grabbed all the latest updates and tried to reproduce the problem. Now when I close my lid it goes to sleep. It used to shut down upon the crash. Now when I open the lid it properly wakes up, except I'm back at the login screen, not back to my logged in session. I ran into this as well. Alone this package is unusable.
