[Bug 1818811] Re: The swapfile on the Btrfs file system is not activated
This bug still remains in the latest Xubuntu CORE 22.04 (xubuntu-22.04-core-amd64.iso from the end of Feb 2022). During boot process, I can briefly see "[FAILED] Failed to activate swap /swapfile" and "[DEPEND] Dependency failed for Swaps". When I execute "sudo dmesg | grep -i swap", I get some more BTRFS warnings and swap-related failures: [4.121985] systemd[1]: Activating swap /swapfile... [Bug 1797373] Re: 3D slide transitions don't work at all or tear when played + repeat animations don't work
Same here on Dell XPS 13 (9333) / Xubuntu 19.10 / LO 6.3.3. 3D slide transitions don't work at all, but **only** when I use the **default distro packages**. OpenGL 3D transitions are broken within Debian / Deepin / Ubuntu, Fedora and even Manjaro/Arch Linux (see https://www.reddit.com/r/libreoffice/comments/9g4ets/libreoffice_impress_61_doesnt_show_3d_transitions for example). When I install Impress via FLATPAK or SNAP, 3D transitions/animations work as expected. It is like this for the last 5+ (!) years (just google for "Impress" "3D" "transitions", to get search results ranging anywhere between 2011-2019). Does anyone know why OpenGL 3D transitions are not working in almost ANY distribution by default? How come that nobody fixed it for so many years? It is hard to believe that distribution maintainers did not notice it. And the fact that it works when you download the DEB packages from LibreOffice.org website instead of **the official repo** makes it even more bizarre : / -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1797373 Title: 3D slide transitions don't work at all or tear when played + repeat animations don't work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/1797373/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 810622] Re: Invites can only be accepted into local calendars
Same thing here - Mint 15, Thunderbird 24 and Lightning 2.6 + Provider for Google Calendar. I use 3 google calendars (and no local ones) and cannot accept any invitations. As Dennis Jacobsen I also see "Read only" is not enabled in the calendar properties - even though I can add events manually just fine. [Bug 924586] Re: custom background color breaks display of launcher icons if #000000 is used
Me too. I'd also love to see it backported to 12.04. It's one of the first things that catches your attention - that you cannot control the color of your working environment. This makes using Unity unpleasant. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/924586 Title: custom background color breaks display of launcher icons if #00 is used To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/924586/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 635574] Re: screen brightness adjustment misses levels
I have the same problem on Dell Inspiron 1525 (Intel GMA X3100) and Ubuntu Maverick (10.10): cat /proc/acpi/video/VID/LCD/brightness levels: 12 24 36 48 60 72 84 100 current: 60 Most of the time you can't go directly from 72 to 60 etc. Brightness usually jumps by 24. Though sometimes it increases or decreases by 12 as it should always do. It's very inconsistent and hard to guess what logic stands behind such behavior. Please help to fix this silly bug if you can. [Bug 454297] Re: drag and drop images or video into subfolder will prevent folder from loading
I observe the same behavior as described above, but it's not limited to images or videos - it also happens with TXT files. Often it's enough to save a file, then rename it and press refresh and either all the files from that folder disappear or nautilus doesn't show the file that has just been renamed. This bug seems to be a duplicate of more generic bug #383927, where Alastair Carey wrote in comment #19: "now it's very common in Nautilus - any time I move a file that is represented by a thumbnail from one folder to another, Nautilus can't show the entire contents of the destination folder - sometimes Nautilus won't show anything, other times it shows everything but the file just moved. Any file that uses a thumbnail seems to be able to set this off - not just videos, but PDFs, and document files if an OpenOffice thumbnailer extension is installed. Closing and restarting Nautilus doesn't seem enough to reliably fix it." As to my experience this behavior didn't happen "every time I was moving a file", but it was frequent enough to make me select an option to never create thumbnails for TXT files or any other files that can be previewed with a thumbnail. -- drag and drop images or video into subfolder will prevent folder from loading https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/454297 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 118522] Re: Word wrap is too commonly changed to be in preferences, should be a menu
It's great, thanks! :) The only thing it's missing now is to keep wrapping state after saving changes in a file. Currently when you save the file text-wrap sets itself to what is selected in global preferences ignoring what you have chosen for the file that you're working with. So every time I do CTRL+S I also have to do CTRL+R (assuming you work with many text files, and the one you're working with right now has different word-wrap than what is selected in global prefs). Anyway, quite nice piece of work. Thanks again ;D -- Word wrap is too commonly changed to be in preferences, should be a menu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/118522 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 118522] Re: Word wrap is too commonly changed to be in preferences, should be a menu
Today I got to know about two of such plugins from http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/6465/ . 1) http://live.gnome.org/Gedit/Plugins?action=AttachFile&do=view&target =toggletextwrap-plugin-0.1.0.tar.bz2 2) http://sodki.org/programas/gedit_plugins/menu-text-wrap.tar.gz I like the second 'menu-text-wrap' plugin more, because it provides Ctrl+R keyboard shortcut. Still I think much more people would benefit form the plugin if it was included with gedit by default. Even such a featureless program like windows notepad has it. In the last few days I had to toggle text wrap many times so I decided to search for gedit plugin again and this time finally found one++ ;) I'll pass it on to my friends - they'll be glad :)) -- Word wrap is too commonly changed to be in preferences, should be a menu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/118522 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 118522] Re: Word wrap is too commonly changed to be in preferences, should be a menu
Thanks for the link Sebastien ;) From that discussion (Comment #15) it seems that Paolo Borelli has made up his mind on this bug almost 2 years ago. Still on my Ubuntu Feisty I didn't find any convenient way to toggle word wrapping in gedit :/ Is there at least a small glimmer of hope that this issue will be solved in the next couple of months?? ;-S (even keyboard shortcut would do the trick ;) -- Word wrap is too commonly changed to be in preferences, should be a menu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/118522 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
