[Bug 806291] Re: [needs-packaging] Boot-Repair pre-installed in ISOs

2014-09-03 Thread Directrix1
This was filed over 3 years ago. The project is long since stable. It is
very useful for a large number of people. Why is this not included yet?

[Bug 1263162] Re: libvirt missing sanlock plugin

Is there any progress on this? How are people using this with any kind
of shared storage, atm? I only have a dozen VMs, so it's not that
complicated to track, but I can't imagine a more complicated deployment.

[Bug 1263162] [NEW] libvirt missing sanlock plugin

2013-12-20 Thread Directrix1
Public bug reported:

After enabling sanlock in libvirt, I get the following error:
2013-12-19 20:34:17.499+: 5482: error : virLockManagerPluginNew:163 :
Plugin /usr/lib/libvirt/lock-driver/sanlock.so not accessible: No such file or

directory
2013-12-19 20:34:17.499+: 5482: error : daemonRunStateInit:905 : Driver
state initialization failed

/usr/lib/libvirt/lock-driver only contains lockd.so . I have installed
sanlock, but it is pretty pointless without a libvirt driver for it. For
any real sized vm deployment with san storage I would assume this to be
a show stopper, since you could accidentally clobber whole machines.

[Bug 402767] Re: multisearch CSE breaks l18n+setfocus+images+cached+I'm feeling lucky functionality and "violates user trust"

2009-08-08 Thread Directrix1
This bug report has become a farce. I created the separate bug report
because it is a separate issue. I guess I won't clear the duplicate
flag because this bug's description has been changed to that all
encompassing "multisearch CSE breaks l18n+setfocus+images+cached+I'm
feeling lucky functionality and 'violates user trust'". I seriously
doubt you are helping anything by focusing on a really ambiguous and
overly broad bug report, but you guys do want you want. Dilute this
issue as much as possible.

[Bug 190346] Re: intel wireless doesn't work

2008-04-20 Thread Directrix1
I either have the same or a very similar problem. I have a Dell Inspiron
E1505 with integrated Intel Wireless. Laptop worked perfectly in Gutsy.
In Hardy the "wifi light" never turns on or flashes, and I believe
network manager won't bring the interface up because it can't detect its
status. If I run 'sudo ifdown eth1 ; sudo ifup eth1' then it will work
correctly but the light still never turns on or blinks (this part is not
as much of an issue for me). I have included what I believe to be
relevant log excerpts. And on a side note module iwlwifi_mac80211 is
loaded, yet this is not a Mac. BTW, all this is evident off the boot CD
also. And on my setup wlan0 gets renamed to eth1 on startup.

[Bug 109963] GAIM AOL chatroom regression

2007-04-25 Thread Directrix1
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gaim

I was using GAIM in Edgy without any problems. Now that I upgraded to
Feisty, after I connect to an AOL chatroom, it will stay connected for a
while, but eventually all communications just stop and I can't send or
receive from the room anymore. Additionally, after this happens I can
not log back in to any chatrooms. I can still IM people though. My
friends in the room say it looks like I just leave the room.

[Bug 109685] SuperTux Intel HDA Audio Glitch

2007-04-24 Thread Directrix1
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: supertux

On both computers I have (one laptop, one desktop) running Ubuntu Edgy
and Feisty, SuperTux during the whole game suffers from constant
clicking sounds. Like the sound buffer is emptied and new one is not
queued up fast enough or something. Both of these machines are fairly
fast and are running at excellent frame rates. Both machines use the
embedded Intel HDA sound card (judging by Ubuntu's drivers). This
doesn't effect programs like XMMS/VLC/mplayer/Totem.

[Bug 95863] Re: Intel 945 Video 1680X1050 resolution display outside physical dimensions of the monitor

2007-04-24 Thread Directrix1
I'm using xserver-xorg-video-intel 1.9.94, and on this flat panel wide
screen LCD Ubuntu says its res is set to 1680x1050. My desktop looks
right as far as icon size and everything goes except there are artifacts
(skipping every 6th vertical line). When I go through my monitor's menu
it reports it only running at 1400x1050. This worked in Ubuntu Edgy
compiling from the modesetting branch. I hope this will be fixed soon.

[Bug 75953] libapache2-mod-python cannot be installed in feisty

2006-12-15 Thread Directrix1
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libapache2-mod-python

# apt-get install libapache2-mod-python
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  libapache2-mod-python: Depends: libapache2-mod-python2.4 (>= 3.2.8-1ubuntu2)
but it is not installable

[Bug 54034] Re: XFCE Kiosk Mode Broken

2006-07-25 Thread Directrix1
Yeah, the security hole thing was a long shot :-P. But I would really
love for this to be patched in Dapper as I am deploying kiosks for as
long as they last (which is why I would like it the Dapper LTS version).
I sure would love to know that an 'apt-get upgrade' won't break my
patched XFCE I'm going to have to install.

[Bug 54034] XFCE Kiosk Mode Broken

2006-07-25 Thread Directrix1
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xfce4-panel

To reproduce try to set up an xfce4 panel in kiosk mode as documented by:
http://www.xfce.org/documentation/docs-4.2/xfce4-panel.html#panel-kiosk

The upstream bugzilla thread is here:
http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1993

In the bugzilla thread it states that it should be fixed in "SVN
revision 22442, or in the next beta release". Should this patch be
backported to the current Xubuntu xfce, as it is a documented feature?
If it is not backported will the next beta be in Dapper? This is also a
potential security hole because following the documentation gives you
the false assumption of a locked down xfce which is not currently
provided.
