[Bug 1639776] Re: dnsmasq fails to send queries out after suspend disconnects the interface

2017-03-12 Thread Donald Hayward
Dell XPS 15 9550 user with Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS here... I ran across this
in the last week or few as well. The patch from #7 seems to fix it.

[Bug 1089995] [NEW] Gwibber missing python-httplib2 dependency

2012-12-13 Thread Donald Hayward
Public bug reported:

A fresh install of Gwibber on Kubuntu fails to connect to supported
services (Facebook, Twitter in my case). It complains about getting
error code 1 from gwibber-service.

Attempting to start gwibber-service directly results in an ImportError due to a
missing Python package:
$ gwibber-service
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File /usr/bin/gwibber-service, line 55, in module
from gwibber.microblog.util.log import setup_logging
  File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gwibber/microblog/util/__init__.py,
line 1, in module
import re, cgi, httplib2
ImportError: No module named httplib2

Installing 'python-httplib2' manually fixes the problem. Thus it should
probably be a dependency (or a dependency of a dependency, etc.) of
gwibber.

ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10
Package: gwibber-service 3.6.0-0ubuntu1
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-19.30-generic 3.5.7

[Bug 1050459] [NEW] Dependency typo (python-urrlib3 instead of python-urllib3)

2012-09-13 Thread Donald Hayward
Public bug reported:

1)
$ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu quantal (development branch)
Release:12.10

2)
$ apt-cache policy python-requests
python-requests:
  Installed: 0.12.1-1ubuntu3
  Candidate: 0.12.1-1ubuntu5
  Version table:
 0.12.1-1ubuntu5 0
500 http://ftp.usf.edu/pub/ubuntu/ quantal/main amd64 Packages
 *** 0.12.1-1ubuntu3 0
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3/4) Tried to install the python-requests upgrade package; it is held
back because of a dependency issue. 'python-requests' should probably
depend on python-urllib3 (instead of python-urrlib3). This typo is
causing python-requests to fail to install.

[Bug 805214] Re: Dragging a bookmark from the URL bar in Firefox makes the Launcher appear

2012-08-02 Thread Donald Hayward
This is really a maddening bug... it's annoying enough that I keep
switching away from Unity to avoid it. However, I'm not entirely sure
what the correct behavior *should* be.

I understand why the Unity bar pops open, but perhaps it would be better
if you have to actually drag the bookmark to the edge of the screen
(like what it takes to open it normally) instead of it popping open pre-
emptively?

[Bug 962298] Re: gnome-shell crashed with SIGSEGV in _clutter_actor_finish_queue_redraw()

2012-04-10 Thread Donald Hayward
This bug affects me as well, when hovering over activities.

It happens on multiple machines, both 64-bit; one Nvidia and one ATI.

It does not always happen; usually after a re-load (after the crash) the
Activities corner works just fine for a while. Not quite sure what
changes; it seems random and sporadic.
