[Bug 1813007] Re: Unable to install new flows on compute nodes when having broken security group rules
Found https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/s5Z4DNJspV/ missing. New copy here: https://pastebin.ubuntu.com/p/g7Q3nFmhWN/ The thing to note is that they both have the same remote_group_id, 40ee2790-282f-4c6a-8f00-d5ee0b8b66d7 and one has ports_range_min/max=None (which in the code None is replaced with 1 on ports_range_min and 65535 on port_range_max). The code then translated this remote_group_id into id 38, which in the cur_conj.remove(conj_id) call ended up failing to delete due to there being two different entities with the key 38, hence the KeyError. If I recall correctly from looking at this last week, cur_conj is an array of tuples of ('', conj_id). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1813007 Title: Unable to install new flows on compute nodes when having broken security group rules To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/neutron/+bug/1813007/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1764848] [NEW] Upgrade to ca-certificates to 20180409 causes ca-certificates.crt to be removed if duplicate certs found
Public bug reported: The certificate /usr/share/ca- certificates/mozilla/Go_Daddy_Class_2_CA.crt in package ca-certificates is conflicting with /etc/ssl/certs/UbuntuOne-Go_Daddy_Class_2_CA.pem from package python-ubuntu-sso-client. This results in the postinst trigger for ca-certificates to remove the /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt file. This happens because the postinst trigger runs update-ca-certificates --fresh. If I run update-ca-certificates without the --fresh flag, the conflict is a non-issue and the ca-certificates.crt file is restored. If I understand some of the postinst code correctly, --fresh should only be run if called directly or if upgrading from a ca-certificates version older than 2011. [Bug 1729389] Re: [Intel 8260/8265] Bluetooth peripherals work for a few seconds, then don't react
I had previously worked around this problem using the solution in comment #17. Now I just upgraded to linux-firmware 1.157.15, as I saw it in my Ubuntu Xenial updates and it referenced fixing this bug. I therefore removed the workaround in comment #17 and rebooted. The problem returned immediately (I tried multiple reboots and reconnects). Bluetooth still disconnects after a period of time if wifi is also connected. I had to reinstate the workaround in comment #17 again to have a working mouse, even with the new linux-firmware update. [Bug 1740892] Re: corosync upgrade on 2018-01-02 caused pacemaker to fail
@nacc: The error condition was that when corosync restarted, pacemaker disconnected (as was normal) and then tried reconnecting, but when reconnecting ran into this error: error: pcmk_cpg_dispatch: Connection to the CPG API failed: Library error (2) So, pacemaker is trying to re-handshake with the revived corosync, and when it does, the api fails due to a library error. Given that it's the CPG API, and the libcpg4 package was updated, I'd guess that there was an incompatible patch added to the libcpg4 library was incompatible with the previous version of libcpg4 that was in-memory linked into the running pacemaker binary. Once we restarted the dead pacemaker service, pacemaker reloaded the new library and was able to connect to the CPG API as normal. I don't know if that's a library failure or a change to the CPG API that was not version-compatible with the previously running version of libcpg4 whenever the dying pacemaker had been started. The issue occured in trusty and xenial clouds across Mitaka and Ocata cloud archives. ** Changed in: corosync (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1740892 Title: corosync upgrade on 2018-01-02 caused pacemaker to fail To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/charm-hacluster/+bug/1740892/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1735088] Re: package initramfs-tools 0.125ubuntu12 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script was killed by signal (Terminated)
Had to boot to 4.10.0.42 or 4.14.0-11 to get command to run. Issue seen on both 4.13.0-17-generic and 4.13.0-19-generic. Another issue that accompanied this issue was that after updating to 17.10 PC would no longer reboot or shutdown. Updating kernel manually to 4.14.0-11 and manually booting to 4.14.0-11 linux-image resolved issue. I was then able to install software needed, update-initramfs, boot, and reboot normally. [Bug 1724529] Re: ceph health output flips between OK and WARN all the time
We are seeing this same flapping on another cloud. One node had rebooted yesterday when the HEALTH_WARN flapping began. Running on trusty/mitaka cloud archive 10.2.7 ceph package. That server is giving the health_warn on the too many pgs. Ohter server rebooted 7 days ago was not giving warning, and third server was still running ceph-mon from March at 10.2.3. Had to kill ceph-mon (as /etc/init.d/ceph restart mon did not work) and that's now running 10.2.7 mon. Some OSDs running 10.2.6, some running 10.2.7 when I run "ceph tell osd.* version" restart of third mon (up for 10 days) (also required kill command) and now error is not flapping. Seems there's something that either /etc/init.d/ceph command is not properly allowing for mon restarts (on ceph-charm, not ceph-mon-charm) when OSDs are present (though haven't tested w/out OSDs present). Having to kill the process with standard SIG is odd to get the process to recycle. Perhaps it's being blocked by init daemon configsside issue. I'm guessing what actually has happened is someone did a "ceph tell mon.*" to ignore the pg counts, and then the restarts caused the setting to be dropped. This may be something to re-open against the ceph and ceph-mon charms to allow for config opts for ceph health_warn configs, or we can close this bug and open another. The flapping makes so much more sense in this context of a ceph tell mon.* having been run in the past. We've got notes in a related case on another cloud to work-around this with config-flags setting in the charm, but would love to see more of these operational monitoring settings exposed by the charm directly rather than relying on config-flags. Here's the command to change on the live ceph-mons: - ceph tell mon.* injectargs '--mon_pg_warn_max_per_osd=900' Here's the command to configure the juju ceph charm to persist the setting: - juju set ceph config-flags='{osd: {"mon pg warn max per osd": 900}}' -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1724529 Title: ceph health output flips between OK and WARN all the time To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/charm-ceph-mon/+bug/1724529/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I have also reproduced this behavior with --scale-from instead of --scale. I think that the pos of eDP1 in this case should end up at 3840x0, otherwise the utility of the ease of use operators like --right-of, --left-of, --above, etc is zero when used in conjunction with --scale or --scale-from. ** Affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: xrandr -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1732999 Title: xrandr relative positioning does not take into account the --scale parameter To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1732999/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1719770] Re: hypervisor stats issue after charm removal if nova-compute service not disabled first
I'm still working on reproducing. While attempting reproduction, I had an environment where I had 3 hosts, dummy charms on each for ubuntu, then added nova-compute to 3. Removed nova-compute unit from the third host, and still saw stats for it in hypervisor-stats. There may be some cleanup missing in charm-nova-compute relation-depart hooks to disable/remove the service. http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/25824195/ I think to reproduce, it might require a full remove-machine, add-unit ubuntu --to machine-name, add-unit nova-compute --to . [Bug 1719770] Re: hypervisor stats issue after charm removal if nova-compute service not disabled first
In models.py, both in Mitaka and in master, I've found that the relation between ComputeNode and Service is using the following join in the Service context: primaryjoin='and_(Service.host == Instance.host,' 'Service.binary == "nova-compute",' 'Instance.deleted == 0)', As in my case, I've redeployed a deleted node as the same hostname (Service.host) this join is relating a deleted ComputeNode.host entry to the non-deleted Service.host entry. If I look at both my compute_nodes and services tables, it appears they should potentially be joined on the "id" field, rather than the "host" field, at least for this specific query, but this potentially breaks the Service object relation model for other query contexts such as instances running on a hypervisor. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1719770 Title: hypervisor stats issue after charm removal if nova-compute service not disabled first To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/charm-nova-compute/+bug/1719770/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1470014] Re: systemd-udevd: Process '/lib/udev/hdparm' failed with exit code 5.
The other bug suggested this could be repeated by running (where sdX is the name of your block device, e.g. sda from /dev/sda): sudo udevadm trigger --action=add /sys/block/sdX --verbose Another way debug this without a reboot for a drive that's not mounted, you can disconnect the device and re-scan to add it. # #Comment: First, figure out which logical port the drive is connected to: # #Comment: In the output, make note of the host0 part. Other output may have host1 etc. # #Comment: you may need to put a sudo in front of readlink. # readlink /sys/block/sdX #e.g. for /dev/sda it would be readlink /sys/block/sda ../devices/pci:00/:00:1f.1/ata1/host0/target0:0:1/0:0:1:0/block/sda # #Comment: Force disconnect the device (you may have to "sudo su -" first, or use sudo with tee): # echo 1 > /sys/block/sdX/device/delete # #Comment: Trigger rescan (you may have to "sudo su -" first, or use sudo with tee). # #Comment: Note host0 matches from the readlink call above: # echo "- - -" > /sys/class/scsi_host/host0/scan If you want to apply the workaround for xenial, you need to comment out both "hdparm_set_option -B254" and the "else" above it in /lib/hdparm/hdparm-functions. If you don't properly comment out the else section, then you'll get something like: systemd-udevd[XXX]: Process '/lib/udev/hdparm' failed with exit code 2. A workaround that didn't work for me was to add "hdparm_set_option -q" on the line before "hdparm_set_option -B254" /lib/hdparm/hdparm- functions . Just changing it to "hdparm_set_options -q -B254" results in the -B254 not getting set as a parameter, which may be good enough for some people. To add some debugging code, add the following to line 2 of /lib/udev/hdparm like suggested in bug 1568474. set -x; exec 2>>/tmp/hdparm.txt When incorrectly commenting out the "-B254" part, you may see something in /tmp/hdparm.txt like: /lib/udev/hdparm: 89: /lib/hdparm/hdparm-functions: Synax error: "fi" unexpected https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=795025 says "the -B254 option status is written to the unavailable output and generates the IO error." The correct solution seems to be, as suggested test if the -B option is accepted before using it, having hdparm ignore the error (with a -q on line 88?), or changing the hdparm code's handling of the -B option failing. It would be nice to know when it fails with a warning in syslog instead of this error. It may also be useful to somehow get the output of hdparm going directly to the syslog when there is a non-0 error code, or even adding some information about what the command line was for the statement that failed if /lib/udev/hdparm is allowed to write to syslog. For me this may be a problem that comes and goes as I need to look at older drives where the APM_level is not supported. For the one drive I'm currently looking at I see: user@host:~$ sudo /sbin/hdparm -B254 /dev/sda /dev/sda: Setting Advanced Power Management level to 0xfe (254) HDIO_DRIVE_CMD failed: Input/output error APM_level = not supported user@host:~$ sudo /sbin/hdparm /dev/sda /dev/sda: multcount = 16 (on) IO_support= 1 (32-bit) readonly = 0 (off) readahead = 256 (on) geometry = 25694/255/63, sectors = 234441658, start = 0 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1470014 Title: systemd-udevd: Process '/lib/udev/hdparm' failed with exit code 5. Re: [Bug 1590974] Re: package mariadb-common 10.0.25-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2
Otto, Thanks for the reply. I was finally able to get the 5.7 update to complete. At least no more errors occurred. The problems started during the upgrade from Ubuntu 15.10 to 16.04 and MariaDB did not quite install properly. It was probably my fault because I copied the /var/lib/mysql folder from openSUSE Tumbleweed to the Ubuntu 15.10 environment. I somehow got through that hurdle and 16.04 worked and so did the mysql databases. All seemed to work okay until the 5.7 update of MariaDB. I probably still don't have a 'clean' Ubuntu 16.04 environment. Anyway, I used touch to create /etc/mysql/mariadb.cnf and reran the update. It almost worked except for the binary update. I renamed /var/lib/mysql-5.7 to mysql-5.7.old and ran the update again. I did apt-get install -f and got no more errors. Then I ran the Software Updater and it said my computer was up to date. I know I probably didn't do this the 'right' way, being that I'm no Ubuntu or Linux expert. I know just enough to be dangerous. Any advice for future transfers of mysql databases would be appreciated. And I'll read up on it in the meantime. Thanks. [Bug 1504991] [NEW] Extraneous Dependencies (may be bug in more than one package)
Public bug reported: When installing pfstmo (in my case using Synaptic, but it shouldn't matter which front-end I use), it reports that I MUST install the following as well: aglfn (Adobe Glyph List) gnuplot-x11 (X11 front-end to GNUPlot) libatlas3-base (Automatically Tuned Linear Algebra Software) libcxsparse3.1.2 (concise sparse matrix library) libfftw3-3 (Library for computing Fast Fourier Transforms) libfftw3-long3 (Library for computing Fast Fourier Transforms) libgl2ps0 (Lib providing high quality vector output for OpenGL application) libglpk36 (GNU Linear Programming Kit) libgraphicsmagic++3 (format-independent image processing) libintl-perl (Perl internationalization) libpfs-1.2-0 (C++ library to read and write pfs files) libplot2c2 (GNU plotutils libraries) libpstoedit0c2a (PostScript to editable vector graphics library, runtimes) libqhull6 (calculate convex hulls and related structures) libqrupdate1 (Fast updates of QR and Cholesky decompositions) libxml-libxml-perl (Perl interface to the GNOME libxml2 library) octave* (GNU Octave language for numerical computations), and libraries, including bindings to pfstools pfsglview (command line HDR manipulation programs) pfstools (command line HDR manipulation programs) pstoedit(PostScript and PDF files to editable vector graphics converter) texinfo (the "info" CLI command) Given that the only members of this list of supposed "dependencies" that I even remotely want are pfstools & pfsglview, there is a problem here. I am not attempting to install a suite of tools for scholarly mathematical analysis. I merely want to play with HDR image software. While I'm using 14.04 (which I believe is the current "LTS"), I presume this problem exists for all Ubuntu release levels. I built a machine image via debootstrap and installing the cloud-init package, but upon boot, cloud-init doesn't perform any of the expected actions, and I get this backtrace in /var/log/boot.log: Traceback (most recent call last): File /usr/bin/cloud-init, line 229, in module main() File /usr/bin/cloud-init, line 166, in main cloud.get_data_source() File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/cloudinit/__init__.py, line 207, in get_data_source dslist = list_sources(cfglist, self.ds_deps) File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/cloudinit/__init__.py, line 552, in list_sources return(DataSource.list_sources(cfg_list, depends, [cloudinit, ])) File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/cloudinit/DataSource.py, line 178, in list_sources mod = __import__(%sDataSource%s % (pkg, ds_coll)) File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/cloudinit/DataSourceCloudSigma.py, line 25, in module from cloudinit.cs_utils import Cepko File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/cloudinit/cs_utils.py, line 36, in module import serial ImportError: No module named serial The fix would appear to be adding python-serial to Depends. ** Affects: cloud-init (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1381776 Title: cloud init depends on python-serial but does not declare it To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cloud-init/+bug/1381776/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1337281] Re: network problems after update to kernel 3.2.0-65 - thunderbird/imap/dovecot
I can confirm what YAMAMOTO Hirotaka (ymmt2005) said. I upgraded from 3.2.0-64-generic to 3.2.0-67 and had lots of issues with Windows users connecting to network shares on a different subnet among other things. Public bug reported: When I use MouseImp/DragToScroll on Windows and drag upwards, I push the page upwards allowing me to go down (dragging). [Bug 1256832] Re: Canon Selphy CP510 not recognised by CUPS
@dr Gutenprint drivers are not CUPS drivers. In fact, that's part of what is wrong with many systems that have gutenprint installed--they insist on pretending that Gutenprint is just an oddly named CUPS PPD. I would argue in fact that the reason we have problems like this is that we can't just say Hey Mr. Configuration tool, talk to the thingy with the hardware ID blargh! Yes, we're listening. This blocks 1.9.3 final, which means it'll be fixed for Firefox 4 final. A plan Jeff and I sketched out involves (IIRC): - Turning on EXTEND_PAD unconditionally, and - using and/or extending the Cairo X version checking code to sniff for the versions of X that EXTEND_PAD sucks on, and falling back to software (pixman) in those cases. [Bug 987331] Re: gedit lacks icons
After upgrading from Ubuntu 13.04 to Ubuntu 13.10, gedit's icon started disappearing from the app switcher. However it does appear when searching applications, and in the gutter alongside other running apps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/987331 Title: gedit lacks icons To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-icon-theme/+bug/987331/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1213861] Re: Add package for OpenCL library
This issue seems to persist in some form for package opencv - 2.4.5 +dfsg-0ubuntu3. Running pkg-config --libs opencv does report -lopencv_ocl, as expected. However that library doesn't seem to be present. gcc builds that include the output of pkg-config --libs opencv will report error /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lopencv_ocl -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1213861 Title: Add package for OpenCL library To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/opencv/+bug/1213861/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1208270] Re: [Dell Inspiron 15R 5520] Touchpad intermittently does not work upon startup
I was having some serious problems with my Windows 7 partition, so I elected to undergo a system restore. Beforehand, I was receiving the following message when attempting to boot into Ubuntu 13.03 from GRUB: ERROR : Attempted to read or write outside of disk 'hd0'. Boot Repair suggested that I create a boot partition. After the partition was created, I no longer received this message, and I haven't had any problems with my touchpad working upon startup. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1208270 Title: [Dell Inspiron 15R 5520] Touchpad intermittently does not work upon startup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1208270/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
