[Bug 1969577] Re: Small icons in app grid of Activities Overview
With regard to the difference between the app grid when using the default Ubuntu Dock extension and the Dash to Dock for COSMIC extension, it looks like: * in the case of the default Ubuntu Dock extension, the elements of the app grid are centered horizontally relative to the app grid, not including the dock (and their size is calculated based on the available width); this is why the app icons are smaller, but the elements in the app grid are centered correctly relative to the app grid (the left and right margins have the same width) * in the case of the Dash to Dock for COSMIC extension, the elements of the app grid are centered horizontally relative to the screen, including the dock (and their size is calculated based on the available width); this is why the app icons are bigger, but the elements in the app grid are not centered correctly relative to the app grid (the left margin is smaller than the right margin) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1969577 Title: Small icons in app grid of Activities Overview To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-shell/+bug/1969577/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

The icons have the right size when the dock is disabled (as mentioned in the original bug description), but also when the dock is moved to the bottom (see the attached screenshot). [Bug 1969577] Re: Small icon in Activity Overview
I tried out Ubuntu 22.04 today, and I came across the same issue. The app icons in the app grid are very small and the app names very short (I know the full name is shown when you hover over an app icon, but I don't think that makes this issue less important). I'm going to attach a screenshot too. FYI: My screen resolution is 1366 x 768 (16:9). I don't have this issue in Ubuntu 20.04, but I know the Gnome activities overview has been redesigned since Gnome 40. On a side note, the order of the app icons in the app grid seems to be random. I know the icons can be rearranged manually, but I think it would be better if the icons were sorted alphabetically by default. However I suppose it will be better to create a separate bug report for that issue (if one doesn't exist yet). ** Attachment added: "Screenshot of app grid with small icons" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock/+bug/1969577/+attachment/5582920/+files/Screenshot%20from%202022-04-23%2014-54-08.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1969577 Title: Small icon in Activity Overview To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-shell/+bug/1969577/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1913642] [NEW] Background color of certain tooltips is solid black after upgrading yaru-theme-gkt to version 20.04.10.1
Public bug reported: 1) Ubuntu version: Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS 2) Package version: yaru-theme-gtk version 20.04.10.1 For example when hovering over an item in the left panel of Gnome Files, a tooltip is displayed. When yaru-theme-gtk version 20.04.6 is installed, the background color of the tooltip is dark grey with some transparency (similar to the color of the tooltips that are displayed when hovering over an icon in the Ubuntu Dock for example). @kasper93 I still have the metallic sound issue, after did 3 steps you list in #99. (No problem without pulseaudio.) It must be that a certain detail has not been handled properly. [Bug 1315328] [NEW] Black icons on dark grey background in right click menu of title bar when using Radiance theme
Public bug reported: I am running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. I am using the default Ubuntu Ambiance theme. I enabled "menus-have-icons" in dconf-editor under "org.gnome.desktop.interface" so that menu icons are shown. When I right click the title bar of a window, the icons (for Minimize, Maximize and Close) are black on a dark grey background, so they are not very visible. [Bug 1312375] [NEW] Problem with resizing borderless windows that are located against the screen border
Public bug reported: Apparently the invisible draggable area which you can use to resize a window is located outside the window. Now that all windows are borderless, when I auto-resize a window to the left part of the screen (by dragging it to the left border of the screen) I can no longer grab the left, top and bottom border for resizing afterwards (the resize arrows do not appear). I suppose that, when the border was 1 pixel wide, there was always the possibility to grab the border in order to resize the window. Maybe there should be a small (even 1 pixel could make a difference) invisible draggable area inside the window too? I suppose there is no such draggable area inside the window at the moment so as not to interfere with the interior of the window (the scroll bars for example)? Or is there another reason? ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1312375 Title: Problem with resizing borderless windows that are located against the screen border To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1312375/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1184262] Re: [logind] times out too early, stuck in PrepareForSleep, causing network and other services to not resume
Here's another D-Bus system bus monitoring log. [Bug 1203357] Re: Additional user(s) that log out of a any session still show as being logged in
Another scenario that appears to cover the same bug (See also: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/237638) : When I log in and then log out, on the login screen there is a small triangle before my user name indicating I am still logged in (although I no longer am). However this triangle stays there until I restart my computer. Even though the logged-in symbol in the session menu disappears in certain cases (see comment #4 above), the triangle before the user name on the login screen always stays there. It looks like whether the user is still logged in is determined in another way in the session menu (the logged-in symbol) and on the login screen (the small triangle). [Bug 1242151] Re: COLOURlovers dash plugin appears twice and unable to go to next dash plugin in the preview window
I just did an update (using Software Updater). I got the message "The software on your computer is up to date." but the problems are still there (the COLOURlovers plugin still appears twice and I can't go the next plugin in the preview window). A second user present on my system has the same problems (I checked the problem with that user yesterday too). However when I log in as the third user available on my system, the COLOURlovers plugin appears only once. I hadn't checked the problem with this user before, but I don't know if that's the reason why it's working now for that user. (Details: serial 20155 error_code 3 request_code 20 minor_code 0) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) [Bug 881724] Re: update manager crashes on opening
That spat out a lot of options in the command line terminal. I didn't change any of them and just closed the terminal after running the line you gave me. When I ran the Update Manager and hit "check", I thought we had it at first. It showed a progress bar and said "loading software list", then "downloading release". It still never gave the option for upgrading to 11.10, though. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/881724 Title: update manager crashes on opening To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/881724/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 881724] Re: update manager crashes on opening
By the way, after 6 months of miserable stumbling around with Unity, I finally realized that I can select "Ubuntu Classic" on startup and make everything right again, haha. I've been wanting 11.10 to see if it made Unity any more tolerable. If I still don't like it, does the new version have the option of running the "normal" interface?

You are a genius. Now we're getting somewhere. That seemed to fix it; I installed all of the updates (there were a TON of them). Now, however, the update manager doesn't offer me the update to Ocelot. Am I missing something simple? You mean just open the terminal and type that exact character string in, then press enter, correct? I did that and it didn't seem to do much.
