Re: [Bug 162825] Re: firefox crashes/locks in myspace profile
I am sorry but I cannot Test at this point.I am not sure how. I have since rebuilt my system with Windows and have no real interest in linux now. - Original Message - From: "Nanley Chery" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, December 18, 2007 5:37 PM Subject: [Bug 162825] Re: firefox crashes/locks in myspace profile I understand your situation. Could you retest this problem? but this time, installing the adobe flash plugin instead of the gnash plugin when prompted? Re: [Bug 162825] Re: firefox crashes/locks in myspace profile
yes I had no choice - because my second harddrive failed and I need my pc with both monitors. I still have the ubuntu live cd and can use it at any time. I like it but cant use certain drivers for printers ect. because they don't exist. - Original Message - From: "Nanley Chery" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Sunday, December 16, 2007 7:12 AM Subject: [Bug 162825] Re: firefox crashes/locks in myspace profile >I have reinstalled Windows so that I can use my all my monitors. Re: [Bug 67487] Re: [edgy][regression][rv280] black screen and console freeze when X starts - drm lockup
I am having a problem installing ATI driver for radeon 7000 or VE card. The windows loads up and tells me there is no ati driver. But I have tried to install it with the cd program and manually. I even d/led the driver and installed but it said wrong card. So i reinstalled the oem disk and still says no ATI driver. What can I do to fix this? -- [edgy][regression][rv280] black screen and console freeze when X starts - drm lockup https://launchpad.net/bugs/67487 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 67487] Re: [edgy][regression][rv280] black screen and console freeze when X starts - drm lockup
I am not sure... I just know that it loads up live cd burned from iso with my old emachines t1120 and a proview 17" monitor it has to do with the MONITOR itself !!! My asus will load it up but will only display through a monitor as 85hz and I cannot change the output hz with asus intel graphics accelerator. But I can change the hz with emachines AGP with the same monitor (Proview) My test is complete. I don't know what the problem with xorg is. -- [edgy][regression][rv280] black screen and console freeze when X starts - drm lockup https://launchpad.net/bugs/67487 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 67487] Re: [edgy][regression][rv280] black screen and console freeze when X starts - drm lockup
I am running a final experiment to be sure. I will switch the monitors and see if the asus will work with the Proview if so then I am sure that it is the monitors hz value and nothing else. Also found that on install to HD that partitioning function is not cooperating very well. Cannot install to HD yet. But I will do more research. I will post my findings shortly... I must reboot and connect the monitor and run the experiment first. -- [edgy][regression][rv280] black screen and console freeze when X starts - drm lockup https://launchpad.net/bugs/67487 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 67487] Re: [edgy][regression][rv280] black screen and console freeze when X starts - drm lockup
Ubuntu 6.10 Live Cd Works !!! Problem seems to be the graphics device It does not load properly with my ASUS with Intel Extreme Graphics (Built On Motherboard) SVGA Output to Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 71 - Screen goes BSOD but CTRL-ALT-F1through6 works Just F7 is BSOD But Same Live CD-Rom Disk Loads Directly and works on this following system. E-machines T1120 Intel Celeron Processor 1.2 ghz 512 MB Ram Important Notes: Emachines is using 3D AGP Graphics Intel Direct APG Using a ProView 17" Monitor I do not know why but my Emachines is a few years older and my ASUS is P4P800 MX and has Pentium 4. I don't believe this problem is related directly to the Radeon type Cards nor is it limited to the Intel Graphics Cards. I have ruled out the problem having any descrimination between AMD and Intel Chipsets. It is Xorg related and has to do directly with 85HZ that is the default start (Main BSOD problem) as some monitors require a device driver to be installed before they will accept these ranges (or they cannot accept 85HZ signals at all !!) If we can figure out how to change the default HZ value at boot then we will have solved our problem !! -- [edgy][regression][rv280] black screen and console freeze when X starts - drm lockup https://launchpad.net/bugs/67487 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
