Some more progress.

[Bug 939677] Re: Using Chrome when it suddenly froze.

2012-02-26 Thread Esko Kauppinen
Update: Lot of problems so tried to install 32bit Mint Linux over
Ubuntu without formatting the drive. First attempt ended with a Kernel
write error. Tried again now with swiping the drive clean with a new
formating. This time installation was a success and no problems so far.

So I assume this was a problem with my hardware and not a bug in Ubuntu.
Sorry for the trouble.

Do you know if this issue happened in a previous version of Ubuntu, or
is this a new issue?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? It
will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.3 kernel[1] (Not a kernel in the daily directory). Once you've
tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing'
tag(Only that one tag, please leave the other tags). This can be done by
clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom
of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text.

If this bug is fixed by the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream-KERNEL-VERSION'. For example, if kernel
version 3.3-rc4 fixed the issue, the tag would be: 'kernel-fixed-
upstream-v3.3-rc4'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot,
please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
Confirmed.

Thanks in advance.

[Bug 326609] Re: [MASTER] No flash in firefox after upgrade from intrepid to jaunty

2009-04-03 Thread Esko Kauppinen
I have this problem and removing/ installing flashplugin-nonfree doesn't
fix anything.

Some flash animations work but most do not. Like if I go to some flash
sudoku site the frame comes there but I cannot insert anything.
Dilbert.com animations don't work at all and slow down firefox.

[Bug 99538] Feisty usb stick Cannot eject volume

2007-03-31 Thread Esko Kauppinen
Public bug reported:

I plug in a USB stick and it works ok but shows as disk. When
finished, I want to remove the stick so I right click on the icon and
there is only a remove option. When I select this, it does something an
soon says cannot eject volume and mounts it again and open a window
showing its contents. Then I have to just unplug the stick and it gives
me the warning of unplugging a device without unmounting.
